CZ-USA Monday Morning New Product Sneak Peeks (Brought to You on Tuesday)

CZ-USA Monday Morning New Product Sneak Peeks

In the lead-up to SHOT Show 2019, CZ-USA has begun their “Monday Morning Sneak Peeks” campaign. This provides a glimpse — ahead of official press releases and full details — into new products they’ll be releasing during the next year. We at TTAG will do our level best to get y’all additional photos and info each week (ideally on Mondays) as they release new sneak peeks.

As we weren’t previously sharing these posts here on TTAG, though, let’s catch up on the past few new products that CZ-USA has shown on their Instagram page.

CZ’s 455 rimfire rifle series is no more (review of my Tacticool Suppressor Ready here). It has been replaced by the 457 seen above and below.

Changes to the 457 include a push-to-fire safety lever, a shorter, slab-sided, lighter weight action, reduced bolt throw for more scope clearance, fully adjustable trigger, sculpted bottom metal, nitride finish, and a lighter weight firing pin. Retained are the 455s interchangeable barrel system and magazine compatibility.

The CZ 457 will be available in many barrel and stock configurations chambered for .22 LR, .22 WMR, and .17 HMR.

I’m excited to test out the 457 but afraid it’ll convince me to upgrade my 455 that I love so much. Definitely money I don’t need to spend, but the shorter bolt throw, adjustable trigger, and lighter action all sound fairly compelling.

Next up is this beauty from the lead photo. That’s CZ’s upcoming 527 MTR (Match Target Rifle). It will be available chambered in .223 or 6.5 Grendel with a heavy, threaded barrel and a target-style walnut stock.

“With a fully adjustable trigger borrowed from the 557, it can be tuned down to incredibly light pull weights, and creep and overtravel can be set to the shooter’s preference.”

We’ll try to get our hands on more photos of this gorgeous 527 MTR soon.

Finally, there’s a brand new, semi-auto shotgun in the CZ-USA stable. This is the 1012 and it’s designed to run everything from light target loads up to the stoutest 3″ magnums. Five finish options will be available, all in 12 gauge.

I’m willing to bet that shotgun is Turkish. And they upgraded the classic looks of the 455 with a plastic stock. Meh.

    1. avatar S says:

That is a Manners carbon fiber stock used on just that one model. Most of the rifles have beautiful wood stocks made of Turkish walnut. Have a look at the full line when it comes out. Cheers

    2. avatar Jeremy S. says:

Yes, Huglu has been CZ’s shotgun manufacturer for a very long time. The designs are CZ’s and Huglu is the production partner making them to CZ’s specs.

On the rimfire, they will as always be available in various different wood stocks (including the one pictured) and the legit Manners CF stock also pictured. All the same stocks as the 455 really. That Precision Trainer setup was offered in the 455 for many years also.

    3. avatar Southern Cross says:

I really hope the CZ 457 has a bolt face properly sized for .22LR and not one shared with the magnums. This is why the 452s are still popular.

    4. avatar RidgeRunner says:

Re. the shotgun, if it don’t shoot 3 1/2″s it ain’t for me.

      1. avatar jwm says:

You got dinosaurs roaming your neck of the woods?

  2. avatar tsbhoa.p.jr says:

as i scrolled down and the 1012 came into view, my eyes thought the box mag was getting silly long.
    i got stumped.
    i would like a bolt in .22mag.
    any 10mm pcc’s comin’ down?

    1. avatar tsbhoa.p.jr says:

      or single stack 9mm’s?

  3. avatar Geoff "Mess with the bull, get the horns" PR says:

With new ownership, will TTAG be hitting the SHOT show?

    1. avatar Jeremy S. says:

Yes 👍 . Anything in particular that has your interest this year?

      1. avatar M1Lou says:

        Everything?

      2. avatar Geoff "Kill a Commie for Mommy" PR says:

        Inexpensive rimfire cans, please!

      3. avatar rosignol says:

        Glass.

My eyes are going to hell, iron sights become less useful every year.

        Time to compensate with technology.

    2. We’ll be there. With bells on. As always. What Jeremy said…let us know what you’re most interested in (besides everything).

      1. avatar Geoff "Mess with the bull, get the horns" PR says:

How about a hidden directory somewhere on TTAG or Instagram with nothing but pics of Booth Babes?

        Holding guns, of course…

        *cough* 😉

        1. avatar Jeremy S. says:

The main problem with that is I’m not comfortable being seen taking photos of booth babes. Maybe we can assign Chris H to creeper dude duty 😉

        2. avatar rosignol says:

A lot of Booth Babes are happy to be photographed, so long as you ask first.

Ask them to hold the merchandise, if plausible deniability makes you feel better.

        3. avatar Ben Scratchin says:

Those Booth Babes are there for a reason… And, they like it when you tell them they look good!

        4. avatar Geoff "Yes, dear, you're right..." PR says:

“The main problem with that is I’m not comfortable being seen taking photos of booth babes.”

Oh. So you *like* being married, eh?

        5. avatar Chris Heuss says:

Looks like I am in booth babe duty. Dang it. What did I do to deserve such an assignment?

        6. avatar Erik Weisz says:

I second that notion. Erm, for science!

      2. avatar Bunrudge says:

How about trying to get your hands on the Kalashnikov KR-9 PCC? It’s been almost ready for years…

        Thanks!

  4. avatar Scott says:

I still like my left handed 452 American 22 and my CZ Southpaw Sterling 12 gage, but as a totally prejudiced lefty what does CZ have in the pipeline for me?

    1. avatar Mister Furious says:

      Yeah, what he said

    2. avatar rosignol says:

I daresay that if CZ made a lefty 452, and a lefty 455, there will probably be a lefty 457 coming along eventually.

It’s not like the number of lefties is going down.

  5. avatar Gregory Peter DuPont says:

How about that MTR with optional aperture iron sights and a stripper clips like guide?

  6. avatar Johnny says:

    P01 single stack, please!!

  7. avatar MouseGun says:

When CZ makes a bolt action in 5.45×39, they’ll have my money

    1. avatar javadog says:

In the meantime look at the model 527 Carbine in 7.62 x 39. It is suppressor ready and has really good reviews.

    2. avatar anonymoose says:

I was almost hoping that 527 MTR would be in .224 Valkyrie. Oh well 6.5 Grendel is the next best thing to 6.5 Creedmoor.

  8. avatar possum says:

Everytime I see new and improved, lighter weight I think ” huh they’ve found a way to cut corners, make it cheaper, and still work.” It’s the still work part, I like firearms that will still work 150 years from now. Cutting corners, cheaper, plastic, has me skeptical of the new age guns longevity.

    1. avatar Jeremy S. says:

In this case it’s still steel, just smaller. The receiver of the previous model definitely has extra meat on it in every direction that serves no function on a rimfire. I’ll take a nice nitride job over bluing, too, for durability and longevity purposes.

  9. avatar Kane says:

    When will they release a full size CZP10C or a CZP10 L

    1. avatar Jeremy S. says:

A full size and a sub compact P 10 will hit the market in 2019. Complete with optics cuts.

  10. avatar Muhmawser says:

Boo, bring the fucking Bren II !

  11. avatar Donald R. Romine says:

I’d love to see an American sporter version with a match chamber and match grade barrel, a checked steel butt plate and preferably a bit thinner wrist and butt stock, the checkering pattern is fine. Maybe an upgrade on the wood, keep the 24″ barrel and don’t thread it for a can.

Would CZ like to hire an American rimfire fanatic to help design the stock? lol
