Ruger LCR – Everyday Carry Pocket Dump of the Day

You wouldn’t expect Festus to carry anything but a revolver, would you? This Festus, from Atlanta, totes a Ruger LCR with its amazingly good trigger in a DeSantis holster and a stripper clip with five extra rounds. That should handle just about any situation.

    1. avatar Tom in Oregon says:

It’s just a water bottle. Or an adult beverage flask.

      2. avatar Bob in IN says:

      3. avatar Cloudbuster says:

        It’s actually a cleverly-concealed hand grenade!

      1. avatar fastharry says:

        Thanks Dan…

does EDC consider what is only carried on person…or can it be the EDC contents of my Thule Backpack as well…which I do carry with me…

        1. avatar Tom in Oregon says:

        2. avatar fastharry says:

        3. avatar Geoff "Mess with the Bull, get the Horns" PR says:

…and Jon Taylor did a full truck dump…

  2. avatar Andrew says:

Must wear clown pants. They are the only ones with pockets big enough for all of that.

  3. avatar Tim says:

Festus ain’t no need fer ‘field notes’.

    Good man.

  4. avatar Travis Hancock says:

My wife carries the LCR .357 loaded with Remington .38 +P’s and a couple of speedloaders. The Hornady XTP .357 bruised her hand pretty good.

  5. avatar Marcus T says:

Small nit to pick; that’s a speed strip, not a stripper clip.

    1. avatar Tim says:

      That’s what she said?

  6. avatar Cloudbuster says:

Why do people with five-shot revolvers only put five rounds in their speed strip? It’s not like the sixth round takes up a whole bunch of space or makes the speed strip harder to use. One of the nice things about a revolver is that you don’t have to wait until it’s empty or do a full reload. You can top it off, or you can load that last round by itself if you really need it. I can’t think of a situation where the sixth round in the speed strip would be detrimental.

    1. avatar jwm says:

I load my speed strips with 6. I started doing that because I have 5 and 6 round revolvers. All in .38. Life is simpler that way.

  7. avatar Laserbeam says:

OR, one could pack an LCR in .327 Federal Magnum. Potent round and the cylinder holds 6. So, go ahead and add that 6th boolit in the speed strip. I do.
