Everyday Carry Pocket Dump of the Day: Koy Sauer

Like so many of us, Koy’s carry piece of choice is the slim, concealable GLOCK 43. See the rest of his gear at Everyday Carry . . .

    Like those clear mags…
Was going to ask if counting to seven is very hard but Harry Callahan had trouble with six…

    1. avatar Jeremy S. says:

I have to take my socks and shoes off to get to 20; pants off for 21.

Seriously though, those mags are fun but I wouldn’t trust them for self-defense use. Mainly, I don’t think the springs are up to it. I’ve had a few of them that, after leaving them loaded for a while, fail to shove rounds up fast enough and sometimes they even stick. Which is another downside to that particular polymer formula — compared to steel, it just sticks to the cases too much. (Don’t forget that OEM Glock magazines are stainless steel on the inside.)

It’s 23 with twig and berries.

      2. avatar BLoving says:

        (mulls over the engineering matters…)
        Stronger plastic, less transparent…
Ammunition column on the 43 isn’t stacked side-by-side but only slightly staggered… thinking it wouldn’t require as much lateral strength… ah, what the hell do I know… hey Koy Sauer – if youre reading just tell us if those mags are worth a damn or not.

  2. avatar Hoodlum says:

Maybe those mags can double as a magnifying glass as well.

  3. avatar Sconnie says:

A last name like that and he doesn’t go with a Sig…

No Field Notes? Good, carry on.

I carry that knife every day. It’s awesome.
