Reply Geoff PR says: April 1, 2017 at 16:22 “This was the best one, hands down.” That one had me until nearly the very end, when it showed the flight video. Only then did I realize there was no way a million FPS video cam could possibly be in there. But, damn, was that ever one of the *slickest* video gags yet. They put some serious work in on that one… Reply Jon in CO says: April 1, 2017 at 18:03 The thing I questioned was, “how is it transmitting that video without power, that far away?” Reply Sam I Am says: April 1, 2017 at 18:16 “how is it transmitting that video without power, that far away?” Seriously? Everyone knows bullets are hot, literally, coming out of the barrel. The heat is routed to an internal heat sink, which powers a flux capacitor, which fires little bolts of lightning into a miniature RF nanobots that continuously transmit sub-space data packets to a host (smart phone/tablet). Because of the nanobots, there is no need for gyroscopic stabilization. The data stream, made up of unlimited numbers of datas, is resolved in the host, making things look just like a camera mounted atop the bullet. Get it? Got it? Good. LarryinTX says: April 1, 2017 at 18:50 Sam, are you sure? I was thinking it would be steam generators. Sam I Am says: April 1, 2017 at 20:16 “Sam, are you sure? I was thinking it would be steam generators.” Micro steam generators are used for the launch catapult. gsteele says: April 1, 2017 at 19:44 D’oh! How hard is that to figure out? Can you say wind power? It’s flying freakin’ 3,000 feet per second – that’s a 2,000 mile an hour wind! Enough energy to power a gatling gun! Jeez, I gotta tell you everything . . . Sam I Am says: April 1, 2017 at 20:19 “Can you say wind power?” Wind is the emergency backup power sourced. In case you shoot on a cold day, and the heat build-up from the gases and barrel friction do not quite spin-up the flux capacitor. Blue535 says: April 3, 2017 at 04:44 It’s easy, this is a real deal. They have a nuclear reactor inside the round and that’s what powers the camera. Wsuufg says: April 3, 2017 at 11:37 Tiny RTG powered by used night sight Tritium modules. Anonymous says: April 1, 2017 at 17:03 I agree! Gut buster – this one. I couldn’t stop laughing. Reply Isaac says: April 2, 2017 at 07:51 If this was legit I would pay the $99.99/10rds. Its $8.50 more than what I pay per round but I’d have some sweet video of long range coyote killin. Reply JoeVK says: April 1, 2017 at 16:41 My first thought: Yeah, bullets spin, and that “bullet camera” sure as hell isn’t. Then I remembered what day it is. Reply Vhyrus says: April 1, 2017 at 17:15 Could you imagine opening a box filled with a golden eagle that was tossed around for 3 days with no food or water? Reply BLAMMO says: April 1, 2017 at 17:06 They don’t say it but the teeny tiny little camera is mounted inside a teeny tiny little gimbal / gyro stabilization mount. Otherwise, the video would spin with the ballistics. But of course, you all knew that. Reply Irishmike says: April 1, 2017 at 17:46 You guys are evil! I hate every one of you! ? C. says: April 1, 2017 at 23:45 Remember that guided .50 BAR bullet developed at Sandia Labs? The first announcement was just over four years ago (and not on April 1): http://www.defensereview.com/sandia-labs-self-guided-bullet-laser-guided-50-caliber-saboted-round-coming-for-the-u-s-ordnance-m2hb-qcb-quick-change-barrel-ma-deuce-heavy-machine-gun-hmg-meet-the-possible/ What improvements has Sandia Labs made since then? Reply T. Parsons says: April 2, 2017 at 14:38 $99.99 per box of 10. LOL Hilarious. Reply Scoutino says: April 2, 2017 at 18:05 If or when someone comes up with bullet cameras they will go into shotgun slugs first I suppose. More space, no spin and much lower pressures and acceleration rates. Powered by piezo crystal maybe? Reply Hannibal says: April 2, 2017 at 20:24 Just waiting until ALCU doesn’t get it and insists that all police officers be issued only these types of rounds. Reply The Dotted Line says: April 2, 2017 at 21:32 Is the Under Armour shirt part of the April Fool’s day gag? Surely no self-respecting firearm company would still want to associate with them. Reply Justsomeguy says: April 3, 2017 at 10:16 I absolutely hate April 1st. The idea that we think it’s a good idea to put out fake news any day is senseless. Reply Michael Arnold says: April 7, 2017 at 19:12 G O O D – O N E ! ! ! I’ll admit, I swallowed it hook, line, and primer. Embarrassed? You bet. Upset? Not the least bit. It was a great gag.
