Are those NightCore lights any good?

I’d like to know as well. As cheap a price as they are, I wouldn’t mind having to replace them every 2 years or so…

I’ve never seen them for sale other than on the interwebz which makes me skeptical. Kinda like those ads for “military grade flashlights at ridiculous prices!”.

Also, at 950 lumens even as a CREE LED light that thing is gonna burn through those two 123A batteries that run it pretty quick.

My go to lights are all Surefire or Fenix. I highly recommend the Fenix PD22 (Full disclosure: it’s my EDC, so I’m a bit biased). Five settings, up to 210 lumens, good run times, IPX-8 rated (this NightCore is too), smaller, lighter, runs on a single 123A, has glass breaks, nearly indestructible and it’s the same price point. I’ve had one as my EDC for four years and beat the shit out of it. Other than some scuffing on the finish it’s basically brand new to this day.

Four years of use on the left, brand spanking new on the right: http://imgur.com/a/FFs0m

I rarely buy multiples of anything that’s not disposable but I have three of the PD22’s because they’re so awesome for %~$50 (and if they grow legs it’s not like I “lost” a Surefire). BUT, I’m open to other quality brands that I might find on sale somewhere.

Totally awesome! Only complaint I have is that if they carried alone they have fallen out when I get out my keys.
Other than that, they charge nicely with a blue light to indicate charging 60 minutes approx. They work really well, the 45 lumen one is quite bright enough to work by, and the low power one is fine to wander in the house by. Amazon has them, and they are well rated.
Charging port has a nice cover.
      Controls work perfectly.
Mine survived an accidental washing. ( they don’t say it will but it is well made. )
All the smiles of a photon, but less 00 Philips screwdriver, and expensive 2016 batteries.

A Labrador Retriever is a more attractive as a dog than a Glock is as a handgun.
