    • Sadly John L the universe doesn’t revolve around Ruger. Sauer have a very long history producing guns since 1751. Believe me the Ruger American is not in the same class as the Sauer 100.

  1. If you worship at the church of Litz as I do, you may share my conclusion that there are no better hunting loads under the sun for North American medium game inside 300 yards than the 120GMX 6.5 Creedmoor, or the 130GMX .270 Winchester Hornady Superformance. You may also have discerned that Sauer is seemingly the only company to offer production .270 Win rifles in twists faster than 1:10″. In fact their 1:8.6″ twist in .270 happens to be ideal on paper for the 130 GMX.

So, gentle writers and readers, does anyone know if the new lineup retains the fast twist in .270? If so, that is going to be quite a sleeper in the market.

  2. Blech.

They could do something interesting, like bring the STR-200 to the North American market, but nooooo… it’s gotta be cheap-assed plastic and hammer-forged barrels.

  3. One of the few 6.5×55 rifles around. Don’t knock the 6.5 Swede as it is a very effective cartridge.

  4. I think i’m in love. A 6.5 x 55 bolt gun less than 100 years old.
Moma don’t know it yet, but I know what i’m getting for Christmas.
I was working on the Ruger precision, but ts just so busy. this is clean and slick.
