2016 has been breaking records for gun sales. In fact, records were being broken seven months before the ball dropped on 2016. We only have records through the end of May, but they show a clear trend and if it continues, 2016 will have set the record for the most American gun sales in a year. Ever. But that trend just got bumped, jumped, and Trumped. It’s now taking off like a Falcon SpaceX rocket. The reason, of course, is politics.

The fact is, more than half of Americans associate guns with safety. That trend has been building for decades. It’s supported by theory and facts. It’s the result of education and cold hard thinking. But thinking got thrown out the window on June 12th.

With the Islamic terror attack in Orlando, the ruling Obama administration just had its worldview kicked in the teeth, knocked to the gutter, and has started to bleed out. But the people who rule the Democrat party cannot let that worldview die. Their entire life and life’s investments depend on keeping it on life support. What to do, what to do?

Attack a scapegoat who had nothing to do with the attack, but who is a consistent Democrat boogyman. Attack the NRA and guns.

President Obama, Hillary, and Bernie all agree: Americans have too many guns, the wrong kind, and they can use them too easily. This will not fly with most Americans, but it will fly with enough to scare the majority into a gun buying spree such as we have never seen. The last seven years, which set record after record after record, will look tame.

A couple of weeks ago, I predicted that NICS instant checks would reach 28 million for the year, an all time record. I though I was stretching my neck out.

I was much too conservative. Consider 30 million, maybe 32 million for 2016. We won’t know until the ATF releases figures early in 2018, but that is my prediction now. The Obama administration and its surrogates, Hillary, Bernie, all the old media, will be pushing panic and fear of guns as hard and fast as they can, right up to the election.

That will scare the 53 percent that associate guns with safety into buying guns like never before.

  1. You are 100% correct, Dean. Six months ago the FBI had to take agents off appeals just to process basic checks. It’s worse now.

    • I just bought some more guns. I need them because there are crazies out there shooting up bars and random people especially in gun free zones. I need to protect myself from these psychos and waiting 4 hours for the cops to deal with the issue like they did in Orlando is just unacceptable to me.

    • I understand Buy American, but restricting imports will be an early priority for a Hillary administration, so I would tend to make sure you have every import you need as you see it available over the next few months.

      • Restricting shower-time abuse at the Federal Medium Security Penitentiary for Women, AZ, will be the sole priority for the Hillary administration. She’ll break one arm throwing co-conspirators under the bus and one wrist writing appeals motions.

        • Unless Trump is elected, she will never see the inside of a federal court much less a detention facility. I’d bet money on it. The Democratic Party will not eat its own. Eight years ago, she, Obama and the DNC made a deal: she would not stand in Obama’s path to the White House, in exchange for which she would be given a cabinet post and the democratic party nomination in 2016. Just look at all the superdelegates that lined up behind her even before the primaries.

      • Too late. She did that when she was SecState, preventing the importation of used South Korean M1 Carbines.

    • Yeah, forget the bread and milk. There’s a storm coming but it’s not a snowstorm.

I gotta get the guns & ammo.

I GOTTA GET THE GUNS & AMMO!!

    • I agree with buy american. I’ve been tempted to pick up a Tristar cz 75 knock-off, or just get another CZ-75, but I can’t help but worry that when the Hildabeast wins, getting my hands on spare parts and mags is going to be difficult.

  2. Man, every year the dwindling number of gun owners just keep setting records of the number of guns they buy! It almost makes you think that the number of gun owners is actually increasing vs decreasing…but there’s no way NBC, CBS, MSNBC, ABC, FOX and all those other stations could be wrong…right?

  3. LGS has been packed every time I visit. Shelves aren’t looking bare, and selection still looks pretty good so the channel is still stocked. Saw alot of first time AR buyers shopping like its Christmas eve. We’ve got motivated customers and no supply issues this time. The numbers are gonna be insane.

  4. While I’m glad more people are getting into shooting, it’s tragic that it had to be under this set of circumstances; a series of high profile shooting rampages, panic buying, and the looming threat of the federal government limiting constitutionally protected rights.

  5. It’s simple. The .gov can’t protect you from a lone gunman. A chinese armored division, yes, but a lone gunman, no.

More people are waking up to the whole self defense thing.

      • I’m confident the military can handle 1 chinese armored division. But your point is very valid. Under barry our military has been weakened to the level of 1940.

And we all know where that went.

  6. I said it on the Obama Orlando speech article and I’ll say it again.

That ship has sailed. America has decided “what kind of country we want to be”, and acted on it.

  7. Glad I went through the process of building my inventory over the last couple of years. Not looking forward to the headache of having reloading supplies on hand.

  8. Definitely time to stockpile M855, 7.62×39, 5.45×39, primers, and propellant powder.

Also consider investing in reloading equipment and bulk 55 and 62 grain projectiles.

Things are only going to get worse. The shockwaves will be felt globally. Even downunder. I’m surprised the Greens haven’t released a statement about how tougher gun laws in Australia would have prevented the Orlando massacre.

Perhaps the Greens are still in a narcotic stupor about how one of their progressive partners committed such an act on another of their progressive partners.

  9. Not all of those are gun sales though. What about the NSSF-corrected numbers? Lots of concealed carry permits being issued/renewed?

  10. You all are crazy paranoid freaks. Buy all the guns you can. There are no proposals to take them away, only proposals to keep them away from dangerous people you fools
