TTAG Content Contest: Win a Free SIG SAUER P320!

There are three ways TTAG finds new voices to write for the site. The most common method: Farago sees something they’ve posted elsewhere and poaches them — that’s how I got here, at least. The second way in: gun guys stumble upon the site’s no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners editorial style and feel compelled to submit their own firearms-related material for publication. Behind door number three: the content contest. The search for talented writers continues with our third content contest, and this time the winner will receive a brand new SIG SAUER P320 modular handgun courtesy of the manufacturer. We’re running the competition using the same rules as previous versions . . .

All you need to do: write a post. It can be an editorial on firearms freedom (or those who would infringe upon it), a personal story about your introduction to guns, a defensive gun use, a Krafft-ian discourse on statistics, a review of a firearm we haven’t covered yet (guidelines here), whatever. As long as it’s gun-related you’re good to go.

There’s no minimum or maximum word count. No photos required, though they’re very much appreciated (please send as jpegs). Once you’ve put the finishing touches on your opus, email it to [email protected] with “P320 CONTEST” in capital letters in the subject line. Submit your entry before midnight May 31.

We’ll publish the standout articles here for all to read, Dan will select the best of the bunch as the winner. SIG SAUER will send a box-fresh P320 directly to that winner’s FFL of choice. As always, we’ll ask the best writers to continue contributing to TTAG, regardless of who wins the gun. The contest starts…now!

[UPDATE] SIG Sauer has added a SECOND P320 to the pot, to be given out at random to those who make the cut and get their articles posted. So even if you aren’t the best writer in the world, if you give it a try you still might win!

  1. avatar PhoenixNFA says:

    Walther P99 AS review?

I can make it happen. I want a 320 to add to the collection.

    1. avatar Vhyrus says:

Ill see your P99 and raise you a P99C!

  2. avatar paulWTAMU says:

    hmm. Firearms review?

OK. I’m taking 2 handguns to the range Saturday anyhow. What caliber is this one in–9mm or 40?

    1. avatar Nick Leghorn says:

The prize handgun is a 9mm.

      1. avatar paulWTAMU says:

I’ve gotten down to *only* 9mm and 45 acp and want to keep it that way. Easier to keep ammo stocked for everything that way

        1. avatar Accur81 says:

          More .40 for me.

        2. avatar paulWTAMU says:

I didn’t have a .40 when I began trimming or I may have stuck with it.

I really can’t justify the .45 too much….but 1911’s are so damn fun I’m not parting with them!

  3. avatar Sean N says:

Are we limited to a single entry?
Does the winner get to choose the caliber?

  4. avatar TheBear says:

Will I be paid for the article I potentially create? Will I be paid for future articles?

If not, that is a lot of work for 500-600 dollars of a product.

Five years ago I think I would have jumped at this contest. These days I’m more worried about limiting my online presence so HR can’t track me in a career-limiting way.

    1. avatar Sean N says:

You can use a pen name.

      1. avatar Cameron B says:

feel free to use my name and information, i’ll even hold the gun for you.

      2. avatar TheBear says:

Hmmmm… perhaps I will submit an article or two after all under “TheBear”.

TTAG really does have an enormous audience. I’d love to share the features of some of the guns I own.

  5. avatar Narcoossee says:

Man, Nick…I dunno. After the complaints about Firearms Concierge’s last post being “too long”, I’d be careful about that no maximum word count requirement. 🙂

    1. avatar Jim R says:

People only complain about long posts when they’re boring.

    2. avatar CarlosT says:

FC’s posts would get complaints for being too long even if they were half the length because they’re rich in whining.

    3. avatar Ardent says:

It’s not that long articles are a problem it’s that even a single word from FC is too much.

      1. avatar rosignol says:

I wouldn’t go quite that far.

FC could stand to dial back the venting a bit. Other than that, his stuff is pretty good.

  6. avatar DV says:

No offense to the hand model in above pic, but what the hell is up with those mutant nails?

    1. avatar Nick Leghorn says:

That man has more silver stars than I’ve had girlfriends.

  7. avatar iCONOCLAST says:

I would argue that the policy of “don’t call anybody on the other side names” is not “no holds barred”.

  8. avatar former water walker says:

I guess I’m not the only one to not want Firearms Concierge.

    1. avatar Stinkeye says:

      Not by a long shot.

  9. avatar Mark N. says:

Maybe someday one of the prizes will actually be on the California Roster….Thinking about that, though, I guess not; all of the prizes so far has been new model pistols–and California has banned new model pistols….

But wait! Is there hope? Oral arguments on the microstamping requirement are scheduled for TODAY in US District Court in Fresno!….With a decision sometime (hopefully) in the next few months….Followed by a years’ long appeal to the Ninth Circuit….Now I’m depressed again.

    1. avatar uncommon_sense says:

“With a decision sometime (hopefully) in the next few months …”

Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Wow, you really are an optimist. I guess you might be right if “next few months” means within 24 months.

  10. avatar Biofire says:

What happens if a California gun owner wins? This gun is not on the DOJ roster.

    1. avatar rosignol says:

I suspect that Nick will graciously volunteer to hold it for them until they move out of California. 😉

    2. avatar Mark N. says:

Impossible. No sensible Californian would enter a contest where he/she cannot take home the prize. either that, or you have Nick send it to a lucky relative in another state who is not as talented as you are. And who will owe you one.

      1. avatar Elysium says:

        Wouldn’t SSE be an option?

  11. avatar Edward Zimmerman says:

i would love to own a P 320,i got to handle one but too rich for my income

  12. avatar Accur81 says:

I’ve got ideas – now to find time…

  13. avatar RDSmith says:

What are the formatting requirements? HTML, Word Doc, PDF…?

    1. avatar Jay Williams says:

      I was wondering this, too.

  14. avatar Mina says:

In order to provide maximum scare-worthiness to everyone here, I intend to enter.

    Would LOVE a Sig P320!!

  15. avatar CA.Ben says:

    I’d love to enter.

But I’m 20, so obviously I’m far too irresponsible to have handguns transferred to me from a FFL.

And I live in California, where we have sensibly banned dangerous handguns such as this one.

So I will have to bow out of this one.

    1. avatar CA.Ben says:

As a sidenote, I’d like to give a huge shout-out to the SCOTUS for not taking up NRA v. ATF. 18-20 year olds simply love being disenfranchised from handgun ownership; we can barely keep our rifles on their leashes as it is.

    2. avatar Nathan says:

As a 20 year old (21 in a month), do what I did last August and move out of there. Wyoming has welcomed and accepted me

      1. avatar CA.Ben says:

Believe me, I am going to. I graduate with my BS in Mechanical Engineering in ’16. And as soon as I do, I am leaving for Texas.

  16. avatar dakiwi13 says:

have submitted several entries for past contest through the ttag email and have never even got a single email to confirm whether or not my submission was even received

    1. avatar g says:

Did you e-mail guntruth (at) ?

I’ve sent links and other e-mails in the past, and while the response isn’t always right away, I’ve found I usually get a reply.

      1. avatar dakiwi13 says:

yes that’s where i always send any emails to ttag

  17. avatar Bob says:

I know you have ulterior motives, but thank you anyway. I always enjoy the great articles submitted by your readers. You are planning to publish the best of them, right?

  18. avatar TXgungirl says:

I have to agree about the fingernails. First thing I noticed was the beautiful gun. Second thing I noticed was the disgusting nails. I can’t wait to read these entries. Should be good!

  19. avatar Alex says:

Fantastic, thanks for the opportunity, I would really love to write for TTAG. Now I just need to think of something interesting to write about!

  20. avatar e. lance says:

First off Thank you TTAG you guys have helped me with the info and reviews when purchasing or keeping up to date on events. My next endeavor is to find a decent midrange priced long range rifle. Thank you for you’re dedication to the gun.

  21. avatar Jon Templeman says:

I’ve submitted my article and will now be sleep deprived as I wait anxiously to find if my words can be shared with the masses and if I can finally own a Sig. I suppose my week old baby daughter might cause some of those sleepless nights too.

  22. avatar Joe Bonick says:

    I’d love to own one

  23. avatar george bain says:

    I’d like to win a 320 !
