CNN’s Piers Morgan [Not Shown] Scoops Sarah Brady Visionary Award

Natalie Gal (courtesy

Back in the day, mainstream journalists were extremely careful about which awards they accepted. The odds that Walter Cronkite would have accepted a gong from The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence are about as high as the odds that Natalie Gal [above] will attend the 2014 International Conference on Hypernuclear and Strange Particle Physics. But you would have found Ms. Gal hanging with the Brady Bunch at The Beverly Hills Hotel Tuesday night “celebrating advocates and visionaries working to prevent gun violence,” along with CNN chat show host Piers Morgan. Morgan made the scene to accept his Brady Center Advocate Award for “browbeating, belittling and bedeviling Americans who cherish their civil, human and Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms” [paraphrasing]. Morgan was overheard complaining about the quality of the champagne. True story.

Seriously, why is TTAG talking about this guy? He has the right to free speech. Ignore him and his power goes away.

    1. avatar Peter says:

No he doesnt! Lasttime i checked he is not a US citizen and therefore does not have the rights my dad, grandpa, and relatives fought for in the army. He can foad!

      1. avatar Pulatso says:

RF does the right to free speech. And he’s using it to reveal asshats in their asshatery. Rather than using the 1st amendment to rail against the 2nd, like the aforementioned asshat.

        1. avatar Roscoe says:

I only hope this Brit’ on the lam will make some stupid politically incorrect remark a’la Helen Brady and get sent packin’.

        2. avatar Roscoe says:

          Sorry, that was Helen “Thomas”.

      2. avatar Simon says:

Your dad, grandpa and relatives fought to DEFEND your rights, not to give you your rights. They are inalienable rights, after all.

All people, no matter where they come from, have these rights which are inherent to them being human.

        1. Seconded. One of our primary arguments is that self-defense, and the effective tools thereof, is a fundamental, human and inalienable right, same as free speech. If we deny a non-citizen inalienable rights we are no better than the grabbers!

      3. avatar William Burke says:

Foreign visitors and strange interlopers like Piers Morgan indeed DO enjoy free speech when they’re in this county; it’s a courtesy extended to visiting and resident insufferable dickheads.

And he has the right to be booted from this country for being the aforementioned insufferable dickhead. Problem is, the media and administration WANT him here. Useful idiot that he is….

      4. avatar NickS says:

You’re actually quite wrong on that point. Our constitutionally protected rights are in fact extended to legal non-citizens who reside in our country. I’m not entirely certain which types of visas allow for this, but I’m positive that Mr. Morgan’s falls into that category (it has been discussed on this site before, back in January or February, I believe)What is particularly interesting about it is that the SAF played a major role in making that happen. So, yes, Mr. Morgan enjoys the same first amendment rights that we do, thanks to the efforts of gun-rights supporters.

        1. avatar Jim says:

As a green card holder, I am allowed to fill out and pass 4473s. I have taken full advantage of it. I can even get social security benefits. The only thing I can’t do is vote, and appear on reality shows (which usually require U.S. citizenship).

      5. avatar shawn says:

Hell, we all are foreigners. The only true Americans are the Native Americans. We came to this country.

        1. avatar Pwrserge says:

So did they. Humans aren’t native to North America.

      6. avatar shawn says:

And you missed the point, the more people bitch and complain about him, the more he wins. Ignore him and he goes away.

      7. avatar Evan says:

The right to free speech is a natural right that all people have not just American citizens. Whether other governments allow their citizens to exercise that right is another story. Piers has a right to shame gun owners just as gun owners have a right to shame him right back as they should. When you argue that he’s not sn American so he doesn’t have these rights you use the logic the anti’s use in saying that the US government granted you rights(including gun rights) so we have the right to take them away.

  2. avatar Pulatso says:

Oh Piers, lemme break this down for you Shakespeare like: Shall I compare thee to a Summer’s Eve? For thou art a douche.

  3. avatar In Memphis says:

Shouldnt the award and the Brady bunch all melt since Moron was there? I mean he did shoot ARs with Ted Nugent so hes kind of tainted at this point.

  4. avatar Paul says:

Piers Morgan and journalist should not appear in the same sentence. The truth is that PM is nothing more than a 3rd rate hack who got run out of Britain. The lefties love him but his ratings are so low its hard to measure them.

    1. avatar William Burke says:

It would seem Pierth’s ratings are something CNN is willing to accept – and the concurrent red ink – as part of the expense of disarming America. But for how much longer?

      1. avatar Evan says:

I would wonder what they are going to fill it with. 24 HR news does not exactly create quality news because they have to fill time with something.

  5. avatar Chas says:

I’ll take the 2nd Amendment visionaries over these goobers any day of the week.

  6. avatar Chris says:

Can anyone show one thing him, or anyone else really, have done to try to curtail “gun violence”? School Shield has been the ONLY proposal made that would actually help lessen a problem, if there is even one, aside from fathers in the inner city sticking around to raise their kids.

    1. avatar Jim says:

These pundits do not care about the truth. The problem in dealing with sociopaths is that you assume that they are using a similar version of your frame of reference. They don’t. Shame, guilt, and genuine emotions don’t really register with them at all. This guy does not care one bit about gun safety or the safety of children. All he cares about is getting paid for what comes out of his mouth. The more eyeballs he can garner, the more he can get paid. Sure, part of him surely believes in the disarmament of all humans that he so often espouses. But deep down, I am certain that he believes more in the capital, influence, and power that he can acquire for himself.

    2. avatar Chas says:

Great point. They somehow believe that belittling and mocking gun owners will make a difference in the make-believe “gun violence” problem. But don’t look to them to actually do anything.

Remember, in the mind of a liberal whacko, it’s always someone else’s responsibility.

  7. avatar Roscoe says:

This just spotlights how ALL the MSM unabashedly supports the gun grabber crowd without fear of backlash because they are all in it together when it comes to supporting the grabbers, the Democrats, and their pet causes from 2A destruction, to abortion, to ‘bama Care, to class warfare, to social re-engineering…

These MSM lap dogs (and doggettes) prostitute themselves to the Democratic party and their causes every hour of every day.

    1. avatar William Burke says:

PLEASE! The term is “presstitutes”, coined by trends forecaster Gerald Celente.

      1. avatar Roscoe says:

“Presstitutes” “‘prostitute’ themselves” and the media organization the represent.

        You’re mistaking a verb for a noun.

  8. avatar jwm says:

I’ve decided that from this point forward the only post with Piers Morgans name in it that I will read and respond to is his obit. Fvck him.

  9. avatar AlfinaPlace says:

Piers Morgan is not an American any way. If Piers Morgan does not like our freedoms than perhaps he should go back home to England.

  10. “He wears a mask, and his face grows to fit it.”
    ― George Orwell

  11. avatar DrVino says:

Morgan is a pretentious wine snob. He heard about the 1961 Bordeaux vintage (probably from “Sideways”) and now thinks he knows wine.

He couldn’t tell cabernet from cabbage.

    1. avatar Gyufygy says:

So off-topic, but so hilarious. 😀

    2. avatar William Burke says:

A Lafite Rothschild ’61, you mean? Do you have one? Where do you live?

  12. avatar Randy Drescher says:

It should be mandatory for piers to wear a red nose & have a Harpo Marx horn on him at all times because that jackwagon sure is a clown. The brady award for disarming good people so POS criminals can live on, oh yeah, that sure is one to jump on, Randy

    1. avatar Herb says:

Or maybe Piers should wear a North Korean general’s dress uniform complete with medals creeping down the front and both sleeves and a flying saucer cap with a crown that doubles as an umbrella.

That would about describe his view of the rights of the individual.

  13. avatar BLAMMO says:

Since when is he a journalist?

  14. avatar mymc says:

I’m thankful that TTAG did not use P.Morgan’s mug shot in this editorial. His face is not worth the value of digital pixels displayed on my monitor. The less we see of him the happier the world will be.

  15. avatar Tom in Oregon says:

Hey, wait just a darned second.
I haven’t yet received my invite to the HSPP 2014 conference….

  16. avatar alanhinMN says:

So the Brady campaign gave a baffon an award…. Whats new?

  17. avatar mediocrates says:

I am sure this will do wonders for his viewership. I’m sure its up to 14 or 15 people by now.

  18. avatar Aharon says:

“But you would have found Ms. Gal hanging with the Brady Bunch at The Beverly Hills Hotel Tuesday night “celebrating advocates and visionaries working to prevent gun violence,” along with CNN chat show host Piers Morgan.”

Spanish, Piano, Singing, Motorcycle, Pistol, Rifle, Boxing”

  19. It’s a DC political event, of course the champagne is gonna be cheap and crappy.

  20. avatar Chris Dumm says:

I believe the British term for him would be ‘cunty little prick,’ but if a Brit has a better term I’ll be happy to use it.

  21. avatar Chris Dumm says:

My last comment seems to have been filtered out by the BBS (Big Brother Spam) filter. Let me rephrase it more delicately:

I believe the British term for Mr. Morgan would be ‘c*nty little prick’ but if a Brit wants to suggest a better term I’ll be happy to use it.
