Beretta Forgets to Invite TTAG to DT11 Launch

At the risk of sounding churlish, one wonders why Beretta forgot to invite a representative of the world’s most popular firearm blog to the launch of their new[ish] DT11 shotgun. [Click here for the press release.] Perhaps it’s because we couldn’t represent Beretta as well as FITASC champion, Zone 4 Sporting Clays Champion, nine-time member of Team USA and Chevy Sportsman’s Team Challenge Champion, Will Fennel. [Note: the company rep is on the right.] It’s a shame as “The DT11 marks a corporate inflection point for Beretta USA. The DT11 arrives at a time of new leadership and marketing initiatives that take the company further down the lifestyle path as most evident by the wildly popular Beretta shooting apparel and accessories.” Truth be told we couldn’t shoot like Fennel or write like that. So fair’s fair. Still, our newly elevated Gun Test editor Nick Leghorn looks forward to Beretta’s call. Sometime. Soon. Por favore.

I have no idea, repeat, no idea, what the hell that says.

You know what I got out of it? “Beretta shooting apparel and accessories.” You know why? Because I get 2-3 emails a week from these people, trying to sell me (primarily) Beretta logo clothing. Polos, khakis, shorts, hats, you name it, but rarely if ever is anything actually firearms related.

Seriously, do not let these people get a hold of your email address. I unsubscribed once, but it started up again a few weeks later, probably from one of the giveway contests that are often featured here, though I don’t know which one. I think I get more emails from Beretta than from any two other firearms related sources combined.

Oh, and the best part: I don’t own a Beretta.

Beretta makes good handguns, and with the help of the National Affordable Defense Act more Americans could be provided the opportunity of owning one!

Next week Pres. Obama will unveil a new plan that provides for the defense of Americans. This new plan is called the National Affordable Defense Act or ObamaArms. Mr. Obama knows how expensive quality arms are for some Americans, so he plans to offer every American the opportunity to purchase two discounted handguns per year. The firearms will be purchased from major manufactures with the help of government issued vouchers at an 80% discount. The average Glock should be about $110. This program will in no way attempt to regulate the current handgun purchase process, nor will it limit the amount of firearms that can be purchased in the open market. It will only provide arms for those Americans who would otherwise be defenseless. Please support Mr. Obama by voting for him in November.

    May God bless America.

Paid for by Committee to Elect Barack Obama.

So I’m gonna help subsidize the gun purchases of all of you guys, and you guys are all gonna subsidize mine? That’s a deal I can get behind.

Did I mention I made jack last year, and paid zero taxes? So, thanks for the free guns!

      1. avatar Aubrey Graham says:

That’s what I like to hear. Guns for everyone!

      2. avatar Sanchanim says:

        I wouldn’t mind paying a tax on that, or is it a penalty if I don’t buy a gun, I forget??? 😉

        1. avatar Matt in FL says:

          Well played, sir.

  3. avatar Aharon says:

I’ve heard that Beretta’s customer service is bad. Anyone have experience with their service?

  4. avatar Ralph says:

If TTAG would only become expensive, pompous, supercilious and arrogant, I’m sure that Beretta would call.

    1. avatar virtualjohn says:

You might add slavish, fawning, inveigling ass-kissers.

  5. avatar Guywithagun says:

So does this shotgun cost 5, 6, or 7 figures?

    1. avatar Ken says:

      5 – 9K

  6. avatar Sanchanim says:

Baretta does make nice guns. I tend to think of them as the Roles Royce of firearms. S&W or Remington might be more the working mans firearm, then you have the rest.

I am sure it is a fine firearm, don’t feel bad..
My hope is the reviews, and activist stance of this blog will continue to grow. Eventually they will start calling, because they know the audience is huge.

  7. avatar Derek says:

Probably because your reviews tend not to have very many rainbows, unicorns, ass kissing, and heaping piles b.s.

  8. avatar Bob Morelli says:

    PER FAVORE …………………….PREGO

  9. So glad that Beretta is moving to a new location….★★★★★
