  1. Who the hell thought those gun laws were a good idea?? Did the people of the UK actually vote on these laws?

“Shooters wishing to use a .22 for rabbiting, a .17HMR for vermin control, a .243 for foxing or a .308 for stalking will need a ‘Section 1’ Firearms Certificate. This enables the holder to possess the exact calibre, number and type of rifles specified on the licence and outlines the purposes for which each may be used. Therefore, if you are found shooting rabbits with your .308 and it specifies on your licence that it is for deer shooting, you will be committing an offence. You can see the application form for a FAC on the Metropolitan Police website: http://www.met.police.uk/firearms-enquiries/pdfs/FF101.pdf

    Wow… Just wow.

  2. Once again the truth is revealed that crime prevention -as opposed to crime processing-lies in the domain of the individual as it always has since the first prehistoric man picked up a rock.

  3. I, for one, would feel much safer and certainly a whole lot more secure as a Subject of a Parliamentary Monarchy…and here’s just a few reasons why:

A firearm is a lethal barrelled weapon of any description from which any shot, bullet or other missile can be discharged.
A firearms certificate must be held for any firearm or ammunition.
Handguns are banned. ( Muzzle-loading handguns are permitted )
Certificates are granted by the Police.
Applicants for firearms have to show ‘good reason’ for possession of each and every firearm.
Applications for firearms certificates may be refused or revoked if the applicant/holder is:
    A danger to public safety
    Of intemperate habits
    Of unsound mind
Unfit to be entrusted with such a firearm
No longer has ‘good reason’ for possession

( In addition to restrictions on air guns, ‘martial arts weapons’, knives and etc.
and of course SF/FA weapons )…
    Prohibited weapons and ammunition
ab) any self-loading or pump-action rifle other than one which is chambered for .22 rim-fire cartridges;…
