West Virginia? That’s right. A highly anticipated climate-controlled indoor shooting range and training facility more aptly described as a country club for firearms enthusiasts is opening soon, with the 50,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility overlooking the Highlands in West Virginia.
Guntry is being touted as “A unique and exciting new business, only the second of its kind in the nation,” according to WRTF.com. The facility, a $14 million investment in Ohio County, will be open to the public but will offer several different membership packages yet to be announced.
Amenities are said to include a firearm pro shop, 18 25-yard and four 100-yard ranges with a million-dollar ventilation system, a 48-seat full-service restaurant, tactical simulators, golf simulators, an archery course with 3-D moving targets and an on-staff armorer offering firearms upgrades, repairs and maintenance.

Jason Rine, the General Manager of Guntry, West Virginia, says the facility will offer something for every level of shooter, from beginners to those more advanced, with a full staff of experienced trainers and range safety officers on hand to focus on education and responsible gun handling.
“The idea of this location is to promote gun safety, responsible gun ownership and firearms training for ages 10 through 90. Whether you have never fired a gun before or whether it’s something you have done all your life,” says Rine.
Additionally, Guntry will be offering concealed and carry courses and self-defense training, including a cutting-edge training facility to assist with law enforcement training.
“They can practice serving a warrant on a vehicle, doing a drug search with a dog on a car, and traffic stops. They can do that at 70 degrees, seven days a week in here,” according to Rine.
At this time, opening day is scheduled for February 20.
“We are doing everything we possibly can in order to make that happen,” said Rine, who says there is still some work to be finished before opening.
Guntry will not only be a great place to enjoy a fun day at the range for locals and visitors, but it will also bring additional jobs to the area. The company recently hosted a job fair in anticipation of its grand opening.
It’s nice to be able to report good news to the community, although I will admit a bit of envy for the climate control as I was just out in the South Dakota winter reviewing BCM rifles in -7 degree temperatures the other day. Spoiler alert: the guns faired much better than I did.
Thank goodness they put in a golf course.
Did Trump help any with that?
Priorities my man, priorities.
What if he did? You have a problem with President Trump?
Eat it …
Assholes like me don’t eat humble pie. LOL
How much PITTMAN-ROBERTSON TAX MONEY in this?
That’s what I thought.
the Pittman Robertson Act, the price you have to pay to play.
A slushfund that is long overdue for a serious audit.
From the outside this looks like the indoor range facility in Maryland, I visited a few years ago. It had a 100 yard indoor shooting lane.
The one in WV should be just as impressive.
*West(ern) Virginia.
Another guy that the education system failed.
Check out their Maryland Facility,,, a bit pricey but has every bell and whistle imaginable. Went to their multi-scenario simulator room with some friends,,, very fun! https://www.guntry.com
It looks very nice. I can see facilities like this attracting new shooters that would rather avoid cold, heat and bugs. Isn’t that why bowling allies are so popular up north? Looking at weather down here next week. Supposed to be mid-20s for a few days. A (slim) chance of snow, sleet, ice. Rare, but I’ve seen it before. I remember when we closed I-10 once. That was in March. That storm killed a few people on the coast in Taylor County.I digress. Nice looking place.
Web site gives triadelphia address one hour from Pgh pa.
Yes, the article noted Ohio County which includes the Wheeling area. Supposed to be across the way from Cabelas, by Hampton Inn. Google Maps has a pin, but the map is outdated. This part of flyover country doesn’t even get many flyovers. Streetview is 3 years old there. Tesla charging station nearby tho!👍

I have asked my representatives in Washington to introduce legislation requiring counties to have public shooting ranges based upon either population or land mass. If money can be spent on Planned Parenthood then money can be spent on ranges.
Fairly new indoor range near me. It has a 100 yard rifle range. Archery range also. Pro shop. Only additional thing I wish it had was a cafe.
