In Goldsboro, North Carolina, a 12-year-old young man grabbed a gun and shot a masked home invader who had shot his grandmother. Proving himself a better home protector than any pacifist beta male, the young man’s actions caused the intruders to flee with great haste. Not long after, one of them died of his wound.

The family told WRAL that the masked goblins demanded cash from the 73-year-old woman. After they were told there was no cash in the home, they shot her in the leg.

That’s when the young man accessed the family firearm and showed the bag guys that their masks didn’t make them bulletproof. He shot the intruder who had shot his grandmother.

From WRAL:

According to officials, a 12-year-old boy shot and killed a home intruder in self-defense after two armed suspects broke into a Goldsboro home and shot a 73-year-old woman.

Officials said two masked subjects forced their way into the 73-year-old Linda Ellis’ residence, demanding money. At least one of the suspects, identified as 19-year-old Khalil Herring, was armed – and allegedly shot Ellis.

“A 12-year-old juvenile occupant of the residence shot at the suspects with a firearm in self-defense, causing them to flee the area,” wrote officials in a statement.

Goldsboro police discovered Ellis in her apartment with a gunshot wound. She was taken to Wayne UNC Health Care, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Herring should have chosen a safer, more productive profession than robbing people in their own homes to earn money. Meanwhile, the heroic 12-year-old will have to live with what happened for the rest of his life.

This story should stand as a clear reason why states and the federal government should not criminalize access to firearms for young people. Self-defense isn’t just for adults.

While the Civilian Disarmament Industrial Complex and their media enablers can’t stand to hear it, the only thing that stops bad people like Khalil Herring and his friends are good guys (and gals) with guns. What’s more, firearms remain the great equalizer that allows the very young and the very old to successfully defend themselves against stronger predators…of which there’s one less in North Carolina.

    • You and I and every other sane person can agree that this kid did the right thing in shooting at those thugs that invaded his home and shot his grandmother. Yet in some places using a gun to defend yourself is itself a criminal offense regardless of the circumstances. The UK is but one example. But unfortunately this is also true here in America in certain states like NY. Not long ago a senior citizen living alone in upstate NY that had been having trouble with people breaking into his home shot an armed home invader that had broken into his home in the middle of the night. The senior citizen homeowner was arrested and charged with some degree of homicide crime and was soon facing prison time. They literally do not want us to have the ability to defend ourselves and they are actively going around trying to install these same type of anti-gun laws all across America. We need to remind everyone that the Constitution once amended like any other document under the rules of contract law is permanently changed and that the provisions of the amendment not only overrides but also “supersedes” everything that came before it. Whatever government uses from the original document to claim the authority to regulate firearms is all nullified by the command directive contained in the Second Amendment that so clearly states; “Shall Not be Infringed”. Under our system of law, it is the terms, conditions, provisions and the directives of the amendment that always must and shall prevail… And furthermore, it is only via the passage of another amendment that specifically addresses those same issues that the provisions of a prior amendment can be changed, altered or reinterpreted. The very clearly expressed command directive contained within the Second Amendment remains as the Supreme Law of The Land to this day and thereby nullifies any perceived authority claimed by the government to regulate the firearms industry regardless of their claims under the so called supremacy clause, the commerce clause or any other part of the original Constitution document.

  1. Hoping the family has a second emergency gun and good on the kid for not freezing up. Glad they are not going to be dealing with a typical northeast DA but here is to hoping the worst they see is having to wait to get their defensive firearm returned.

  2. Several years ago in California there was an incident where the children were home alone and murdered, firearms in the home were locked up in accordance with CA law.

    • I’ve noticed the younger generation doesn’t give much respect to the elderly. Now we’re just easy marks and its getting worse.

      • I think it’s been that way forever. Old people are easier targets and predators like easy prey.

The old episodes of Cops from the 90’s had a lot of older victims harmed by younger perps.

    • Good point. The people who clamor that we must have weeks of intensive training (with a passing rate less than 25%) before we can responsibly and effectively use a firearm to defend ourselves must be at a complete loss on this one.

  5. The young hero dealing with killing the intruder? Hell man if someone shot my granny they would have been lucky to only die once.

  6. The Bad Guys really messed up when they shot Grandma!
    The invasion was bad.
    The attempted robbery was worse.
    Hurting Granny was unforgivable.
Someone needs to get this fellow his own firearm and a thousand rounds.

  7. IF IDIOT BIDEN HAD HIS WAY, the kid couldn’t have been able to pick up grandma’s SMART GUN and fired it in defence of his home either…..
