Everyday Carry Pocket Dump of the Day – Jason B

As Jason writes, “I live in South Florida and I tend to wear cargo shorts daily. All the pockets allow me to carry the items I need readily accessible. Today I was wearing a smaller pair of cargo shorts (my wife really hates cargo shorts), and I could not fit my Hinderer Wharnie in the pocket. But I have it on me 90% of the time. And who says you can’t carry a full-sized pistol with shorts and a T-shirt? I do everyday of the year. I’m 6’1″, built lean and no one ever notices. All you need is a good belt and a good holster and you are in business. I use Tucker Gun Leather for both.” See everything Jason carries at Everyday Carry . . .

    Cigarettes, gum, AND vape?

Bro – you need that patch or something.

And not in ADDITION to the cigarettes and the vape. 😀

    1. avatar Jeffro says:

35 years ago, I would dip Copenhagen and smoke Camel non-filters. That and 20 cups of coffee kept me going all day, and most of the night.

I’m still working out how to carry the 5.7. In the car was the biggest issue. I’ve carried G21’s before without issue, but for some reason the 5.7 is just being difficult.

    1. avatar ActionPhysicalMan says:

Crossbreed, comfortable though it was, didn’t work for me, the kydex was too thin and had no retention tightening fastener. Barrel met seat and pushed gun up often enough that it loosened the thin Kydex. Blackpoint’s OWB rides higher, is thicker, and does have the tension-er. Even with my 6″ barrel it stays put. I have the Leatherwing. I doesn’t keep the but very close against my body though. Hoops are too deep and leather is not stiff. It still works adequately though. Considering switching to non leatherwind and or making my own shallower hoops.

I’m running White Hat Holsters Max Tuck. Same basic thing, just with removable kydex so you can use the same backing with multiple guns. I might just need to reorient it from where I normally carry. The longer barrel is messing with me a bit, but I’ve got a 4 day weekend so it’ll give me a better chance to work on it. Running 198lf’s in the Mags. So we’ll see what happens. Thanks for the input APM.

I may be wrong but i believe that vape pen contains hashish oil in it

    1. avatar Christian says:

Only if you in fact know that he himself put it in there. Doesn’t come like that.

      1. avatar 420 says:

It definitely comes like that. U can even buy cbd hash oil from stores down here. Not sure how authentic those gas station offerings are but the definitely sell hash oil vape tupes in more free states such as Colorado and Alaska. Somehow they make there way to fl though

Interesting choice of a carry piece.

  5. avatar paul says:

Love the Five Seven but its a big gun to conceal particularly in hot climates.

    1. avatar Other Tom in Oregon says:

I dunno, I’ve got a full sized Sig under a t-shirt right now and I’m doing okay. To me it’s all about the right holster/position combo mixed with a shirt big enough that it doesn’t cling to you. I also don’t worry about printing too much. In my experience the only people that are going to notice are cops and other carriers and I don’t really care about either one.

  6. avatar Azrael Mackay says:

Ah…the five seven, the choice of professional mall ninja tier uber one operators everywhere. If you don’t operate with one, you don’t even operate bro. I heard that the German-Israeli-Seal team delta 6 squad extra special forces use these converted to full auto, with 100 round drum clipz, and that it will penetrate like 3 AR 500 plates lined up just like those nazis from Indiana Jones….bam!. Yea dudes its so much better than the 5.56 stupid AR15, the system is super small and so much lighter so you can operate harder. and that bullet is bigger, it makes a bigger hole 5.7!! When it hits the terrorists you operate on, its like a mini nuke goes off inside their body, yea my buddy who operates harder than anyone says it like totally liquids internal organs. It’s better than a .50 cal machinegun, like horsepower to weight ratio, you know what I mean. That’s why they keep wanting to ban it, its just that good. I rest my case. Keep operatin’!!!

    1. avatar Jon in CO says:

Hard to tell if you’re just being a sarcastic funny guy, or a massive troll.

      1. avatar Azrael Mackay says:

It had the highest stats of any sidearm on call of duty so it’s the best obviously. Also that dude from splinter cell has one, and he looks cool with it.

        1. avatar Gruney says:

One of the homeliest guns ever. Looks like it would be made by Keltec, not FN.

I rented one because my son wanted to shoot it. You had to hit the bottom of the mag after each shot because the mag disconnect was malfunctioning. That did nothing to improve my opinion of it.

PS90 is another story, although I haven’t shot one. The design is unique, but looks very practical to me.

  7. avatar MouseGun says:

American Spirits, an E-cig, and 5.7? Are you a hipster, bro?

  8. avatar Joe says:

Man…I’m not sure how you do it (especially in FL). I’ve tried carrying a P226 under a tshirt, and it just doesn’t work. I can pull it off with cold weather clothes, but not in the summer.

  9. avatar Billy says:

A vaper carrying a FN Five-Seven, does it get any more douchey?

  10. avatar Jon in CO says:

Funny how many people talk shit about the guy carrying a full size handgun with 21 rounds, yet most will carry a J frame with 5, or a pocket rocket in .380. The 5.7 has a legitimate place, maybe people should educate themselves before talking shit. Then again, that would make the internet less internet.

  11. avatar Dr. Vinnie Boombotz says:

FN fanboy here. I carry my 5.7 at the ranch. I’ve killed many a skunk, possum, coyote, coon, badger, bunny and javelina with it. Never tried it on hogs. Prolly wouldn’t unless I had to; then again we usually have rifles at our disposal.

  12. avatar S.CROCK says:

Smoking is very bad. Why is it bad? Because every few packs of cigs could buy a box of ammo.

  13. avatar Specialist38 says:

First 5.7 I’ve seen on here.

Not my choice but 20 rounds is 20 rounds.

You’re either trying to quit smoking or a serious nicotine addict. I would suggest dpiping Copenhagen. Ha.

  14. avatar slow joe crow says:

I’ll just quote the great Ivan Chesnokov here:

MAIN POINT OF SELLING BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN PISTOL IS EXTREME PRICE OF WEAPON AND CARTRIDGE.

BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN IS WEAPON OF MAN WHO WEARS EXPENSIVE ITALIAN FASCIST SUIT OF HAND SEWING, DRIVE HUGE EXPENSIVE NAZI MERCEDES OF A.M.G. SHOP, SAIL ON MASSIVE YACHT TO GREEK ISLANDS. I THINK YOU GET PICTURE. BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN IS WEAPON THAT SAYS IS NO SUCH THING AS CONCERN OF MONEY.

FOR MAN WITHOUT EXPENSIVE SUIT, BIG BLACK MERCEDES, AND MASSIVE YACHT, BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN IS FOR PRETENDING OF BE RICH LIKE BLACK GANGSTER OF AMERICAN CITY WITH GOLD CHAINS OF LOW QUALITY AND JEWELS OF COLORED GLASS. WHEN YOU EXPLAIN USE OF BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN PISTOL IS ONLY FOR SHOOT MAN WITH BULLET VEST WITH CARTRIDGE ILLEGAL TO CIVILIAN, THIS MAN HAS NUCLEAR RAGE. WHOLE IDENTITY OF THIS MAN IS SPENT IN PRETEND PISTOL SHOWS HE IS RICH. IS VERY AMUSE.

FOR REST OF WORLD THERE IS 9 MILLIMETERS OF LUGER WHICH IS SAME WOUND FOR COST LESS.

  15. avatar Docduracoat says:

I second that comment that this is the first 5.7 we have seen here
The Fort Hood shooter did some damage with one
    214 shots, 13 killed and 30 wounded
So the cartridge can be effective
    Not my first choice

  16. avatar barnbwt says:

So many people denigrating the five-seven who haven’t shot one more than once, most not at all; you wanna talk about internet douchebaggery? Lets see you guys easily plink steel at 25, 50, or 100 yards, do accurate close range double or triple taps, and not complain about how heavy your 1911 is or how fat the grip on your Glock is or how you have to carry backup mags for sufficient capacity

  17. avatar ricardo says:

This pocket dump screams “Florida.” Mustang key, striped wallet, vape AND cigarettes, the fiveSeven tops it off and the owner admits to wearing cargo shorts. I’m guessing he also wears a golf visor despite not being very good at it? Just checks off a lot of stereotype boxes right there.

  18. avatar SCW says:

Wow, cigarettes AND a douche flute. So…douchey.
