UPDATE: at 11:55pm CDT, Dallas police report that both shooters have been captured. According to a local report, the second suspect was captured after a car chase on I-35 heading south. here’s a longer version of the video above:

    “Apprehended”

Really would’ve preferred reading “Shot dead” but at least they got the fucker.

    1. avatar Dev says:

      He won’t survive. Think Oswald.

    2. avatar Danny Griffin says:

“Shot dead?” What about if they have the wrong guy? Oops, sorry?

      1. avatar Keystone says:

A reasonable concern, though from what I’ve been reading/hearing the cops identified where the shots were coming from and pinned the guy (or guys) down.

Now some may argue that the cops might get trigger happy at anyone seen carrying (since it’s Texas) during a situation like this, but the guy who was OC’ing his AR reportedly surrendered it to the police immediately after the first shots, and he’s just fine. Sitting in an interrogation room, but fine. The media would have you believe the cops would shoot him immediately (BLACK MAN WITH A GUN! KILL HIM!) but that isn’t at all what happened.

      2. avatar JAlan says:

Both are now apprehended and alive. I want them alive. Let’s see who else they worked with.

        1. avatar uncommon_sense says:

I am really stunned that both suspects are alive … police don’t take kindly to “cop killers” who usually don’t survive their arrest and confinement.

        2. avatar neiowa says:

Oh BS. They will be celebrities Jesse, Al and Co likely already in route for the photo op.

Only “problem” will be if they are convert to Islam.

    1. avatar tdiinva (Now in Wisconsin says:

The perps could be white supremacists, black nationalists, anarchists, cop block types or drug cartels. It could be an unholy alliance of some or all of them. The latter would be a very disturbing development.

      1. avatar Pwrserge says:

Could be, but does anybody really believe that?

        1. avatar Danny Griffin says:

We’ll find out soon. Both have been caught.

      2. avatar NeutralityPath says:

As an anarchist and someone who knows many other anarchist, anarchists would never work with white supremacists. Anarchists are actually well known for opposing, sometimes violently, white supremacist and other racists groups.

I’m just tired of seeing the killing and loss of life all around.

        1. avatar pwrserge says:

Yeah, because we totally see anarchists rejecting the afrocentric black supremacists.

        2. avatar tdiinva (Now in Wisconsin says:

BS, Anarchists will form a temporary alliance with any group that would take action to destroy civil authority. The only two types of people who are drawn to anarchism — adolescents and sociopaths.

        3. avatar Mr. 308 says:

Dude, you are not an anarchist if you have a set of rules you run your life according to.

          Do you even read?

        4. avatar AnarchoCatholic says:

If we take the term anarchy to literally mean, “without a ruler” (from its Greek derivative) then there is nothing about anarchy that implicitly implies violence. In fact, quite the opposite because anarchy advocates the lack of a coercive violent authority, i.e. the state.

    2. avatar JP says:

They would probably be referred to as African American Caucasians by the media. I prefer to just call them what they really are. Democrats.

  3. avatar tdiinva (Now in Wisconsin says:

This was in the works long before that last couple of events. This is too organized to be a spur of the moment event.

    1. avatar uncommon_sense says:

Let’s see, two snipers positioned themselves to get cops in a crossfire and managed to shot 11 cops who were moving, trying to find cover, and potentially shooting back. Those are hard shots to make under those conditions and would seem to require a LOT of training/practice. And the cops were unable initially to find much less apprehend the snipers. This smells of an agent provocateur, doesn’t it?

I wouldn’t put it past the most ruthless of the ruling class to have actually hired two professional hit-men to take out the cops. If it solidifies their objectives, it would be worth it to them. And the timing — to distract from the FBI’s incredibly damning statements about Hillary — is awfully hard to discount.

Alternatively, it would be an exceedingly clever move if Russia activated the shooters … as long as there is no way that we can trace them to Russia if they were ever captured.

      1. avatar Mk10108 says:

Interesting. Police officers using AR15’s aka. a scary black assault weapons to defend themselves.

Well know who the shooters are in the morning. Perhaps their motivation as well.

      2. avatar strych9 says:

“Those are hard shots to make under those conditions and would seem to require a LOT of training/practice.”

Nonsense. Just straight out nonsense. Finding cover from an elevated shooter in an urban setting is very difficult and the shots are not hard to make once they stop moving thinking they’ve found it. If you doubt this, sit on your roof with an air rifle and shoot birds that have landed. Easy fucking peasie.

    2. avatar John in Ohio says:

Or, just two well trained, pissed off people.

    3. avatar Andy says:

Could this be the beginning of Lorreta Lynche & BLM conspiracy of their so called Summer of Chaos?

  4. avatar uncommon_sense says:

    Mr. Farago,

The shooters shot 11 police total, of which 4 died. (Thus 7 wounded and 4 killed.) Your account sounds like the shooters shot 15 total which is incorrect as far as I know.

  5. avatar Tommycat says:

I’d rather they be caught alive. Dead they become martyrs.

    1. avatar rosignol says:

Shoot four cops in Texas, and it’s mostly a question of if you’re going to be shot while resisting arrest, or which count of capital murder you’re executed for.

The shooters are dead men. It’s just going to take a while for the due process to finish.

  6. avatar Pascal says:

Update 11:54: CBSDFW is reporting that two people are in custody after a police chase on I-35 south of the downtown Dallas area.

  7. avatar NYC2AZ says:

Both suspects in custody. New video from a high vantage point showing one of the guys at ground level shooting at officers and killing one when the cop tries to engage him at close range.

    1. avatar uncommon_sense says:

As in one of the snipers shot and killed yet another cop when the cops tried to stop them in their getaway car?

      1. avatar Danny Griffin says:

        No, both were on foot.

        1. avatar uncommon_sense says:

Nonetheless, did one of the snipers shoot and kill yet another cop?

I watched the YouTube video that NYC2AZ posted and it isn’t clear to me what was going on.

        2. avatar NYC2AZ says:

@uncommon sense: It was the best I could find. The full version Fox showed was a lot more clear and showed the guy firing and moving back and forth between pillars and firing from both sides of each pillar. Then a cop came running up from the right side and gets behind a pillar (I can’t tell if he fired his service weapon as he was running) and then the cop gets outflanked and shot multiple times at close range.

      2. avatar NYC2AZ says:

        Found it: https://youtu.be/gEDO-ggrO-A

Go to about the 1:20 mark on the video.

        1. avatar Taylor TX says:

Ty for the link, been lookin for it.

        2. avatar Keystone says:

Not to compliment the piece of shit, but that shooter moved pretty damn well. Fires, advances quickly, tries to flank left, but then very quickly and adeptly flanks right when he sees the cop is shooting left, and gets him. Knows to use cover and not concealment when retreating…

No way in hell an untrained gang-banger shoots or moves like that.

        3. avatar NYC2AZ says:

“No way in hell an untrained gang-banger shoots or moves like that.”

          My thoughts as well.

        4. avatar John in Ohio says:

@Keystone: I was thinking similar while watching the video.

        5. avatar Chief Master says:

Keystone, I thought the same thing. At least one of the shooters was well-trained in close quarters combat. Not just some pissed-off thug.

        6. avatar Mr. 308 says:

Agreed as well. This was not some gang banger kids holding their gats sideways.

          Curious indeed.

      3. avatar Mk10108 says:

Sorry to bust bubbles. Those two were not snipers but one had some experience noting his rounds impacted the right side of the column driving the officer back while advancing forward then killing him.

  8. avatar george from fort worth says:

hoo boy, they jes gotta git thisun right. i cain’t wait to here all about how the two shooters were jes trubbled kids tryin’ to git their lives turned around, an’ someone done popped-up and give ’em them rifles, and them things went off while the two were trying to put them guns in their gym bags, or sumpn.

  9. avatar JP says:

These f’ing people. Have no idea who or why but it doesn’t matter. Either way these ass hats, whoever they might be, probably just did it in for our gun rights. I’ll almost bet the farm the “assault weapons” ban happens this time. Knock knock…..who’s there? USA. USA who? Oh, I’m sorry….meant to say Australia. Hope I’m wrong.

    1. avatar John in Ohio says:

Did they “ruin it for the rest of us”? Look, if tyrants knock on your door to take away your guns, blame the tyrants! No need for scapegoats.

      1. avatar JP says:

I completely agree. Wholeheartedly. It’s not me that you have to worry about voting to pass anything of the like. I’m very concerned that this will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back with the so called Republicans. Knock on my door wanting anything other than to ask me to enlist in something worthwhile? Sorry about your luck.

      2. avatar jjimmyjonga says:

tyrants are weak without agents to do their bidding…who would those agents be?

    2. avatar Keystone says:

Nothing as politically charged or heated as an AWB is going to get passed between now and January. The SC keeps punting big cases until after the election. Yes, shit like this won’t help, but until a new president is sitting in that oval office nothing is going to change.

Now if Hillary gets in, you can sure as hell bet there will be an AWB, as well as the entire 2A going out the window.

      1. avatar pwrserge says:

If Hillary gets in, it will be in a pine box preceding a civil war.

    3. avatar Lori says:

Yes they are using race division to create laws. Rumored the shooters are white!

  10. avatar Mikial says:

Gee, a black guy, what a surprise. I’m sure Obama will demand he not be charged because his life was so bad and it’s all the white people’s fault.

  11. avatar strych9 says:

I was watching this on TV for a bit and it struck me how fucking piss poor cops are with their training.

There’s video of them shoeing people out of concealment so they can use it while paying NO attention to even the basic concept of providing those civvies with covering fire in the event they take incoming. Really, they’re not even covering each other AT ALL. Other video shows them forming up 5 deep behind a shield to advance nice and slow on a position that clearly has fire superiority and can shoot over the shield yet they advance like the guy is right in front of them. No attempt to find cover or concealment from the guys in the back.

As I’ve said repeatedly, cops are trained VERY poorly in multiple respects to what they now face. Cops these days are trained to act like they’re in the military but are not trained as if they’re in the military. No real concept of what they’re actually doing in terms of the fight and no real discipline either. They just get the gear and play soldier.

    1. avatar Mk10108 says:

I was thinking the same. That shield will not stop a rifle and if he goes down all are exposed.

Also these guys are not snipers.

      1. avatar strych9 says:

Some of those shields will stop a rifle.

Of course if you’re not behind it from the shooter’s point of view then the capabilities of the shield mean nothing.

  12. avatar Dan l says:

I sure wish the pillar shootout went the other way. If I was making the video I hope I woulda tried to distract the bastards so the policeman coulda got the jump on him. Really sad to see a hero go down. A brave hero, he or she will be missed.

  13. avatar Mk10108 says:

    Cops – 2. Civvies – 4

    1. avatar More Dead Soldiers says:

Um no. Cops have already killed at least 566 civilians so far this year.

      1. avatar Mk10108 says:

Most of those are justified. Stand by… Over the next week the poo is going to swack the fan.

        1. avatar More Dead Soldiers says:

“Cops kill civilian. Cops deem it justified.”

          Truly an insane system.

        2. avatar Danny Griffin says:

“Cops kill civilian, cops say it is justified.”

We investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong.

      2. avatar Danny Griffin says:

566? Does that include Philando Castile who they murdered today?

        1. avatar Danny Griffin says:

Wow, cops kill more American Indians per capita than blacks? I never knew that.

          RED LIVES MATTER!

      3. avatar jjimmyjonga says:

LEO are civilians, just as are local mayor, garbage man, city road crew, etc. all “civil servants”. seems In the last 30 years many police departments have projected an image of some odd pseudo-military, non-civilian force, above civil law, which might very well be the heart of some of these problems we are seeing IMO, police unions are the absolute cause of many bad cops, and bad actions, not being held accountable over the years, and the resulting anger. All public employee unions seek to place their members financially and civilly above, at the expense of, all others.

        1. avatar More Dead Soldiers says:

That police are above civil law is not some sort of projected image, it is cold hard reality.

  14. avatar Mk10108 says:

At least one knows how to gun fight. Note how he fired at the left side of the column driving the cop back while advancing and reversing to the right, getting the drop on the cop.

  15. avatar IYearn4nARnCali says:

This could very well be manipulated into a no open carry push by the anti’s in Texas. It is the low hanging fruit and not the cause for this attack and murder, as it is the fault of the men who carried this out, but outrage, as we have seen seldom forms in a manner consistent with leaving the rights of the rest of society alone due to the actions of single actors. I’d be worried if I lived in Texas, I foresee political capitulation at the end of a left stoked fervor of nation wide daily screams about gun control being necessary to stop these attacks.

I am sorry those cops died, that is shitty, I hope their families can get through their loss. This is a big shet sandwich and we may well all be forced to take a bite, to appease the political yearnings of the few.

    1. avatar Danny Griffin says:

Why? Because the snipers showed their guns when they were killing cops? A murderer exposing his gun during a murder is cause for anti-OC law? If that would work, why not just make a law against murder?

      1. avatar Jason says:

Danny that takes comprehension skills to understand that. I see that you have them. Maybe it’s because you had good parents? Maybe you were taught right from wrong? Possible that you understand that there are consequences for YOUR actions? More and more of the people that are elected to vote for their constituents can’t seem to understand this anymore. These people that were peacefully marching in Dallas floors me. The whole blm just bumfuzzles me. What the hell happened to this country? Why can’t people act correctly anymore? So a Scotch Irish man was killed yesterday somewhere in Asia. F it. I’m driving from Alabama and marching in Boulder, CO tomorrow. Gonna act a fool. Maybe even loot. WTF????????????

        1. avatar Danny Griffin says:

Nope, no looting in Dallas tonight. There must be 40 or more cops guarding the 7-11 downtown. Can’t have looting where people can notice.

      2. avatar IYearn4nARnCali says:

Brother, I’m from the land of gun control where even the thought of guns is nearing illegality, I can foresee this as fertile ground for anti open carrying because they have perfected their approval rate here, with a deep pocketed bum like Bloomberg around it doesn’t take too many dots to connect up the urge to infringe on the one hand and the simple act of OC’ing in close proximity to this latest attack as the impetus for renewed gun grabbin.

We are talking about anti gun grabbers who think everyone who visits this site and others similar to it are, “the problem”. Just look at that unhinged loon, Kuntzman to understand the mindset of these people. They will never stop until the right to own a gun is gone in our nation. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking they sleep, or take breaks. They work tirelessly to stop civilian gun ownership, because they think the have found the magic answer to “gun violence” a simple one stop, no fuss, no muss answer that works for them because they get to keep their guns just as long as we lose ours.

The media keeps framing these incidents with language that softens the brain. Semi-automatic suddenly sounds deadlier than automatic because there is a hyphenated word in front of it, sniper instead of gunmen denoting a higher level of intrinsic evil, blah blah blah. I type this sort of response daily and it doesn’t change. The words used to describe an event have meaning, if you keep hearing semi-auto, assault weapon, high capacity, etc and you are not a part of gun culture you start to listen to that narrative and believe that nonsense.

I don’t agree with gun grabbers, our rights have meaning, we either accept that the actions of a handful of people should not implicate the rest of society because we own the same type of machine OR we start removing all dangerous private property from everyone nationwide. No more cars, alcohol, prescription drugs, hammers, chisels, etc because someone some where killed another person with the same type of item.

        1. avatar pwrserge says:

… and people ask me why I think some people just plain need killing.

        2. avatar More Dead Soldiers says:

We are not asking, we are making fun of you for being unhinged. There is a difference. 🙂

    2. avatar Jason says:

Um…..YEP! I’m so sick of the BS. I’ve honestly had enough. Why do these people not come to small town America and do this stupid shat? Maybe because they know there are currently 2 different Americas? There will be only 1 America in the next few years. It’s going to be ugly too. I had no problems in 2002, 2007, and 2008 when my wife and I had our children. I wouldn’t take anything for them but I wish more and more everyday that I would have never subjected a child to what’s coming.

    3. avatar Pwrserge says:

You forgot this is Texas. If memory serves, the legislature won’t be in session for months.

  16. avatar Dan l says:

Reports now 3 in custody and 1 still in park garage holed up. I hope this is portrayed in the media as terrorism, domestic or otherwise, not a gun rights issue. What a crap storm. Watch Obama executie action ban ss109 next week.

    1. avatar Keystone says:

“I hope this is portrayed in the media as terrorism, domestic or otherwise, not a gun rights issue.”

I believe we all know what it will be portrayed as, unfortunately.

      1. avatar Danny Griffin says:

I believe we all know what it will be portrayed as, unfortunately.

        Workplace violence?

    2. avatar NYC2AZ says:

This is a wet dream for the media’s narrative. Look for all information about them being black nationalists/marxist/BLM/whatever to be suppressed while the NRA takes the brunt of negative reporting.

  18. avatar Mk10108 says:

I just watch the state senator from IL cite statistics concerning black folk and police, percentages of traffic stops, being charged, incarceration and stated THESE ARE FACTS…

Interesting how he uses facts to gun up the hate and completely ignore facts about guns.

    1. avatar Jason says:

      The facts are that…

7% of the population in the USA is made up of black males.

50% of all crime in the USA is done by black males.

      1. avatar Indiana Tom says:

    1. avatar Indiana Tom says:

This is why they will push to ban Assault Rifles which are a weapon of war!

I believe in heros, and Moral, cops.

30 years later, 2008, I am back for my education degree at The University of South Carolina in a statistics class I took with two “criminal justice” students. We demeaned and insulted by these two criminal punks- with the apparent support of their instructors and the administration.

In South Carolina, the soulless murder of African Americans have been publicized. A recent murder of a young wite man killed by local police has been ignored.

America is not free if law enforcement answers to no one and chooses asassins as its personnel.

Strong Fesderal oversight is a necessity of a free society. That is a functional reality. Get over yourself.

Until then gun rights are all that will defend us.

That is the Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights, of the United State Constitution. Every one that has gone to a school has pledged to God to support that constitution.

Defend a nation on equal privileges and rights. Or the role models Stalin and Hussein call to you.

  23. avatar the ruester says:

Yeah, I’m sure this has nothing at all to do with people condemning cops based on videos that actually vindicate them when they are held to real scrutiny. Or the constant, pig ignorant refrain of “so doing BLANK justifies murder!?” when BLANK equals; driving off with a cop on your door, turning toward a cop with a knife in your hand, grabbing a cops gun and pushing it into your partner’s stomach, fighting a cop and grabbing his taser, etc, etc

  24. avatar Dan l says:

This could be biker payback for waco. It could be blm, isis, who knows. But at least 4 people coordinating a deadly attack, from what it sounds like now. Thats a game changer for active shooter training on 3 lrvels, the number of actors, the distance of engagement, and the targeting of police in mass. It’s now sop for all these crazies to say they have bombs to slow the swat team from ending the situation.

This is gonna be a real gamechanger, I would just about guarantee executive actions on guns and ammo. Really shitty, 4 idiots can destroy alot of lives and erode the rights of the rest of us, or at least be an impetus to that. Expect another congressional sit in. I hope abbott stands tall on the 2nd.

      Very much so.

  26. avatar Indiana Tom says:

We need more gun control to save our vaunted law enforcement officials. The NRA has blood on its hands! Close the gun show loophole now! Eliminate all due process now! We need a police state more than ever! Ban guns now!

I believe in heros, and Moral, cops.

30 years later, 2008, I am back for my education degree at The University of South Carolina in a statistics class I took with two “criminal justice” students. We were all demeaned and insulted by these two criminal punks- with the apparent support of their instructors and the administration.

In South Carolina, the soulless murder of African Americans have been publicized. A recent murder of a young wite man killed by local police for a single joint has been ignored.

Every one that has gone to a school has pledged to God to support that constitution, the entire constitution.

Defend a nation on equal privileges and rights. Or the role models Stalin and Hussein call to you.
