“As many know, I am an avid sportsman and the owner of many guns that I use for hunting,” Adolphus A. Busch IV, former CEO of Anheuser-Busch, assumes in an editorial at stltoday.com. “Only three years ago, immediately after the Sandy Hook massacre, I canceled my NRA lifetime membership. One only has to examine the makeup of its 75-member NRA board of directors, which is dominated by gun and ammunition manufacturers, to understand my decision.” To quote Don Henley, I must not be drinkingย enough. I see a lot of people who aren’t gun or ammo makers on the NRA’sย BoD list. Anyway, Mr. IV drip (sorry, couldn’t resist) is a “no weapons of war for Americans” full-time Fudd.

The fact that an individual (Islamic sympathizer or otherwise) could simply walk into a retail gun shop or gun show to buy a Sig Sauer MCX semi-automatic, military-style assault weapon should be alarming to anyone. Since when does keeping a military-style weapon out of the hands of maniacs become a controversial idea?

The controversial idea here: keeping a “military style” weapon popular with millions of law-abiding, God-fearing, Bud-loving Americans out of the hands of non-maniacs. Americansย who have a natural, civil and Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear any damn arms they choose. Without being accused of being a proto-terrorist for wanting an AR-15. To, I dunno, hunt with?

How many Americans die in drunk driving accidents after quaffing Mr. Busch’s beverages? The fact that an individual (Islamic sympathizer or otherwise) could simply walk into a liquor store and buy an alcoholic drink should be alarming to anyone. Ban Bud! For the babies.

      • I’m in Utah, 3.2 all tastes like crap! The scotch (Talisker) comes out after the little one goes to bed.

      • If you want it done right you need to brew it yourself. My beers are head (pun intended) and shoulders above anything else I’ve ever tasted. That said, I don’t have enough time to keep up so in between home brews I drink Busch Light. I also drink diet Coke and iced tea. I’ve even been known to drink water from time to time. It’s all relative. But the only time I drink craft brews is when I’m eating out. Not much point even then, mine are better.

      • yes, but we can assume the family still has significant stock in the company. i took “Andy”, the one who’s “girlfriend” died in the house and who killed someone drunk driving in college, hunting back in the mid-1990’s when he was in his late 20’s maybe , and he was a real entitled dick then.

  1. At this point the moment I hear the words ‘Sportsman and hunter’ I already know I am about to hear something I don’t like.

    • Give me an ‘F’!

      Give me an ‘U’!

      Give me a ‘D’!

      Give me another ‘D’!

      What does it spell!?!

      F-U-D-D!!!!

    • Ugghhh. For the non-STL locals, lemme tell ya just a bit about Auggie…

Back in the day when carrying in your car was a felony in MO (no CCW at all) Auggie got into a shootout with undercovers on I-44. He walked. Just a small bit of his HS career (I avoided him like the plague, but dated a relative). I knew people from Parkway West then and now, let’s just say he had rich kid problems.

Auggie has been in a Rick-James-cocaine-is-a-helluva-drug fog since the sale. As of semi-lately, his staff (multiples) have quit because he often goes on benders and fires serious rifles inside his Huntleigh (rich STL’burb population ~600) home. His GF od’d, but the cops just walked past the Richard Pryor punchbowls of blow in the house. I could do Auggie stories for hours…

Unless he’s won a big lottery ticket, he got about $100MM from the sale, not $1B. The entire family has $B if you add them up, but separately, they are just garden-variety rich folks these days.

      • see my post above about IV. i think you are underestimating the family net, as i believe it goes well into the 10 billion $’s. i think they held only around 2% of the stock at the sale, but had significant investments outside of Bud.

        • It depends on how far we cast the net of “family”. If you go out a bit, then yup, they’ve got money money than the Taylors (Enterprise) and the Pulitzers.

The battle over Grant’s Farm has been amusing when I have time to keep up.

      • My wife is from St Louis and her dad is still commissioned LEA there. She says the family makes the Kennedy’s look like saints.

        • There’s the usual rich-people misbehavin’, the family used to be good for that. Then, there’s Auggie. I haven’t heard anything amusing for the last year or so. But it would be the first time ever that he had his stuff together, so I’m waiting for the next story to filter out…

  2. If I was a billionaire (and I’m only about a billion dollars short), I’d want guns banned for you troglodytes too. Because I would have a whole band of armed no-neck types ready to defend me, and the hell with you little people.

Only the wealthy and powerful matter. Because ‘Merica!

  4. Alcohol related traffic fatalities kill 15x as many people annually compared to rifles of all kinds. In fact it kills just about as many as ALL firearms related murders.

Yet anyone can walk into almost any grocery store and purchase that product with no background check or drinking permit.

    • Yes, but is it easier to buy a 12 pack of Bud than it is to buy veggies? Sorry, just remembering some past idiocy from the current twit at the White House.

    • Hahaha, no, it actually turns you into a shaved gorilla of sorts. And its abuse results in THREE times as many deaths as guns. But, meh, let’s all just look the other way.

  5. Budweiser, the champagne of pee.

Raise the first funger on your right hand straight up. That’s all the number of people you will ever equal. No one gives a F how much money, power, prestige, education, etc., you still can only = a maximum of one. If some dipsh_t, abuses his first amendment freedom of the press to ask your opinion (to generate content for their rag or other media) that still dies not lift the needle off of the peg of you becoming 1+ .
If you make a lot of money selling pee in a can and that makes you special, keep it to yourself.

    • I don’t drink often as I’m usually armed, but when I do, it’s none of those. I go for the expensive stuff.

    • A-B was swallowed by InBev almost a decade ago.

They make piss-water swill for the mass-market. Because that’s what the mass-market will buy.

    • Yes! No mention of Blue Moon! And if any of you know anything anti-gun about them, keep it to yourself. A man’s got to have something left! =)

  6. I bet the number of people killed by drunk illegals with their cars far exceeds the number killed with all rifles combined. I would ask him if he supports a “pathway to citizenship…”

    • For every American murdered by any rife, 40 Americans are murdered by Drunk Drivers.
250 American murdered by rifle every year.
10,000 Americans murdered by drunks every year.

  7. Well Mister Fudd ^H^H^H^H^H Busch IV, don’t look too closely at your favorite hunting rifle because… OH THE HUMANITY!!!! it is based a MAUSER rifle. A weapon of WAR that was made or used by over 50 countries (not counting the Arisaka, the P14/M17 Enfield, or the 1903 Springfield).

And having a number after your name does indicate a congenital lack of imagination within your family.

      • But they are not classified as such in Robert Ball’s book “Mauser Military Rifles of the World”. The only ones listed are ones based directly on the German designs.

But you are technically correct in the Arisaka and Springfield are localized versions.

        • Springfield was sued by Masuer for copying the action and won, I believe. The royalties stop once the war started though.

  8. Ban the six pack, no one needs access to six beers all at once.
We need universal back ground checks for alcohol purchases.
Straw purchases put beer in the hands of babies……babies!!!

And while we are banning stuff, lets ban mothers milk……that leads to everything!!!!
    Ban everything!!!!!!!

I never see anyone with not one single fire extinguisher at one of these vigils….it’s so unsafe!!!

I heard an old couple yelling in the parking lot of walmart today…ok..so he had hearing aids but he could have had an ARMCX gatling assault grenade launcher with multiple heat seeking magazine clips. Im not sure if he was a hindu zika viral jihadist Afghanistan Christian gorrilla but he had a white straw hat so he must be a self radicalized muslim headed to the closest gay bar.
I made a t shirt when i got home to teach the bad guys a lesson.

    • This is hilarious. All of this is hilarious. Well done.

Also, I think we should close the “80 proof loophole.” Common sense.

  9. First, he sells out to a Belgium-Brazilian brewing company. And, now he tries to sell us out so he can feel better about himself when he gets together with his elitist buddies. Just goes to show that all the money in the world can’t buy integrity.

  10. Since when does keeping a military-style weapon out of the hands of maniacs become a controversial idea?

Since when has it been effective? As proven in France and in the UK, changing the mentality of people is easier than changing their ability to obtain firearms. Just because death rates are “somewhat” lower in France isn’t because people can’t get a gun, as has been recently proven.

    • This statement is particularly hilarious if one is a semi-connected STL denizen.

Auggie is widely known to be higher than Richard Pryor post-sale, and regularly discharges rifles in his suburban home. His staff has quit in fear for their life many times.

Maybe (just maybe) after 50 years of being an a-hole, Auggie is finally straight. And as such, wants to make sure effen morons like himself have no way to get their hands on guns, Because he finally realized that he’s only killed a couple of people so far, and better stop now.

  11. Anything beer produced by Anheuser-Busch is horse piss, probably worse.

I cannot fathom why people still drink that crap.

    • Specifically, Clydesdale urine. But in their defense, they’re the purest-bread Clydesdales you’ve ever seen, so it’s top-notch horse piss.

  12. Is this the same Busch with a pair of dead girlfriends and attempted murder of Two St. Louis PD Officers? Funny ow being a millionaire allows you to retain firearms that would have the rest of us in prison.

    • The tip of the iceberg my friend. The tip of the iceberg.

Those were just the things that weren’t ‘disappeared’ before the press dared report something.

    • What’s sad is that he paid blood money to buy his way out of justice. Definitely NOT the person who should own a gun of any kind but escaped having to answer “yes” to being a convicted felon on the 4473.

      • Andrew, He only actually “paid” a couple of times. The rest (since the early ’80s) were just the old man’s political pull that got them written off.

I stayed as far away as I could (so I wouldn’t be the patsy), and I know much more. The people who stayed close? Egads, I can only imagine the stories…

  13. “How many Americans die in drunk driving accidents after quaffing Mr. Buschโ€™s beverages?”

On point however below the belt. As for IV drip (good one). How’s about you keep your comments in the inner cranium and forgo the vocal discharging of your pole smokin pie hole. In addition, the 14 day turn on your beer batch, using rice, is the cheapest, crappies, bloatiest swill ever created.

    P.S. Go mount a Clydesdale.

    ๐Ÿ”ซ๐Ÿ’ฃโš”๐Ÿ—ก๐Ÿ‘…๐Ÿ˜

    • The CDC doesn’t break it down by beer vs wine or hard alcohol but this from the CDC:

Drinking too much can harm your health. Excessive alcohol use led to approximately 88,000 deaths and 2.5 million years of potential life lost (YPLL) each year in the United States from 2006 โ€“ 2010, shortening the lives of those who died by an average of 30 years. Further, excessive drinking was responsible for 1 in 10 deaths among working-age adults aged 20-64 years. The economic costs of excessive alcohol consumption in 2010 were estimated at $249 billion or or $2.05 a drink.

  14. They guy should stick with making mediocre beer at best and keep his mouth shut. Who he is or what he has doesn’t qualify or validate his opinion anymore than it does for Obama, the senator from California Dianne Feinstein, Bloombag, or his mouthpiece needs a nose job Shannon.

  15. Since the end of the Draft 2-Generations and less people trained in the use of ‘guns’ a fear factor has taken root recognizing only negative consequences when the ‘gun’ is used the wrong way by the wrong person. No system is pefect and no law or ban will prevent an Orlando, San Beradino or Chatanooga. We are at war whether or as a Nation we acknowledge it or not. iSIS has declared Jihad against the the Western world not to gain land but to change our way of life and submit to Islam. Regardless of Liars at the top of our government these are the words of ISIS. Imagine if a few patrons at the Pulse had been Armed and trained in the use of their ‘guns’. How many fewer dead and injured would there have been at the Pulse. I’ve stupid unknowledgeable reasons why it would have made it more dangerous. Really! Israel is a perfect example where armed citizens have often neutralized a terrorist saving lives. A few months ago when violence broke out in Jerusalem the the Mayor called for all gun owners to carry their ‘gun’ and not to be afraid or hesitate to use it. Why is the US with a #2A Right fear the general public owning ‘guns’ while regardless of laws gang bangers and terrorists will acquire them and the former usually get just a slap on the wrist from the Courts

  16. Why is it these people cannot fathom that anything legislated that would deny anyone who has no documented history of criminal acts, mental illness or indisputable connection to radical Islamic Terrorism their Second Amendment right to legally purchase a firearm, is not and cannot be acceptable? The Democrats are vehemently opposed to risking any appearance of discrimination against defined groups, such as Muslims, but are viciously antagonistic to Gun Owners and everyone’s Constitutionally protected RKBA, as specified in the Second Amendment. They cannot have it both ways.
So, this Busch person wants to start letting the corrupt, dysfunctional Federal Government decide who gets to exercise what rights, when, and where. He can go jump into a vat of his horse piss “beer” and drown himself!

We have already allowed the Federal and State Governments to legislate away too much of our Liberty and we have accepted too many agenda-driven, politically motivated Court decisions. Dysfunctional as it may be in contemporary practice, our concept of law is still underpinned by the belief that an accused person is “innocent until proven guilty”. Accepting that Government at any level can convict any person of a crime by “deciding” to label them a member of a group would effectively destroy that underlying principle, as well as destroying an accused person’s right to a trial by a jury of their peers.

  17. I’ve been making the alcohol argument for years. It’s absolutely rock solid and every time I’ve gotten into gun debate, the other side is quickly silenced when they inevitably realize I’m right. Anti-gunners claim they want to save lives. Then I ask if they want to ban alcohol, since it results in roughly three times as many deaths as guns do every year. They don’t want to ban it. Why? Because they haven’t been trained by the media to believe that alcohol-related deaths are horrible and preventable by “tougher alcohol laws.” Another reason is that they drink, and they don’t want to give up a right that THEY exercise. It’s always so easy and convenient to blame the country’s problems on a group that you don’t belong to. But when the finger gets pointed at them, all of a sudden a halo magically appears over their heads, and they immediately start making the exact same arguments that gun owners make: “Why should I have to give up a right that I exercise responsibly? I’VE never hurt anyone by drinking.” It’s nothing but sheer hypocrisy, and Adolphus A. Busch a perfect example. He performs spectacular feats of mental gymnastics to distance himself from the fact that he’s made a killing producing a highly lethal, addictive drug that has killed millions.

  18. Yeah I recognized this busch league A-whole. All over the news I recall. Why oh why are so many great white hunters our enemy?

  19. An American tourist is in Germany and stops in a restaurant for a bite.
He looks at the menu for drinks, but it’s in German. He neither speaks or reads German. When the waitress arrives and speaks German to him, he says-
    “Uhhhhh, Anheuser-Bush?”
    She says-
    “Fine, and how’s your p3nis?”
