The Left’s Phony War on Gunsboxer-logo color small – “We could be putting violent criminals away for gun-related crimes for longer terms and monitoring them more aggressively through an improved parole system. We could do that before they graduate to murder — remember how many of those charged with possession offenses have prior arrests and convictions. But this isn’t on any gun-control agenda. Why? For one thing, it probably would mean locking up a lot of young black men in Chicago rather than hassling a lot of old white guys living out weekend-warrior Rambo fantasies in Tulsa. And for the Democrats, that isn’t an option. The enemy is the enemy, and, guilty or not guilty, he must be punished.” It has nothing to do with safety…we’re in a culture war.

The Democrats Are Boldly Fighting For a Bad, Stupid Bill – “That certainly sounds like a solid principle on which to take a stand—terrorists shouldn’t have AR-15s! Meanwhile, most gun deaths in the United States are not caused by suspected terrorists armed with military-style semi-automatic rifles. The vast majority of gun deaths—suicides as well as homicides—are caused by handguns, and the majority of people firing those guns are not suspected terrorists (which invariably refers, in contemporary discourse, to Muslims, and no other groups or individuals dedicated to political violence). The no-fly list is a civil rights disaster by every conceivable standard.” How awful does a Democrat-sponsored bill have to be for it to be excoriated by none other than Gawker? This bad.

West bowing to radical Islam – “Blaming guns for the Islamist murder of 49 people in the Orlando gay club, is like saying that Zyklon B gas was the cause of the Holocausts and not the Nazis. Gun control is a clear and present issue in the U.S. and there are countless episodes of shootings in the U.S. to justify the removal of all guns (not just automatic weapons), from the streets. However, piggybacking on the gun control debate and not making any mention of the threat of Political Islam and Islamism, is the furthering of a political agenda and not simple ignorance or apathy.” This from a Canadian Marxist Iranian immigrant.

Marshals: Innocent People Placed On ‘Watch List’ To Meet Quota – “‘Innocent passengers are being entered into an international intelligence database as suspicious persons, acting in a suspicious manner on an aircraft … and they did nothing wrong,’ said one federal air marshal. These unknowing passengers who are doing nothing wrong are landing in a secret government document called a Surveillance Detection Report, or SDR. Air marshals told 7NEWS that managers in Las Vegas created and continue to maintain this potentially dangerous quota system.” But as Lindsey Graham says, fixing these problems won’t be a problem.

NPR issues large correction about stay-at-home mom/gun-control activist – “NPR’s embarrassing brush with both sides of the gun debate should provide a bit of ammunition to journalism professors and editors around the country: Warn your people off the use of terms such as ‘regular people’ or ‘average Americans.’ No one knows what those terms mean — and when they come from news outlets lodged in large metropolises, it’s a fair bet that they’re laced with condescension. As a motivated and educated woman who stays at home while performing chores, contract work or activism, yes, Shannon Watts has thousands and thousands of peers across the country. In its correction, NPR very nearly suggests that Watts’ professional and family pursuits somehow place her outside of the pool of ‘regular people.’ Bag that term, and just explain who she is and what she has done.” Pedantic, inside baseball. But really, anything that annoys Shannon Watts is OK by us.

  1. Look what we have here! A new pic for Dirks ‘special’ folder!

    *Loud Whistle*

    Yo, Dirk!

Deal with your woman, willya? 🙂

  2. I thought Gawker went bankrupt? Well at least financially since they were always morally bankrupt.

    • Bankruptcy is not a financial term. Bankruptcy is a judicial mechanism for preventing creditors from collecting what is rightfully theirs.

      • Or to “deal with” the reality of the risk they willing assumed, and richly charged for, coming home to roost.

      • Ultimately, yes, but bankruptcy is very essential to entrepreneurship and economic prosperity. Otherwise, people can end up in debtor’s prison, unable to get out until they can pay off their debt (which they can’t even begin to do because they’re in prison). One of the unique facets of the United States is that we have very lenient bankruptcy laws. This is to incentivize entrepreneurship, however it also leads to a nasty side effect in that tons of people abuse it and get into serious debt, for example credit card debt.

In other countries, going bankrupt can ruin a person for life, so such people tend to be much more careful about their finances, however it also means that the amount of entrepreneurship in those countries is less.

  3. Just ordered a Comp Tac for my 6″ S&W 686. Can’t tell you how long I’ve been looking for a decent Kydex holster for that hog-leg!

The only problem I have with the holster is that it does not seem to be a retention holster since it is intended for competition shooting.

I looked but could not find any way to let them know the order came from this TTAG post.

  4. is that a “Die-In” I see in that picture? if so, it’s a lot more sanitary than Occupy’s 2011 Zuccotti Park “Shit-In.” But it’s just as stupid. Maybe stoopider.

  5. And these adolescents are what some people have actually elected to represent them. Wow, the USA is in even more trouble than I thought.

  6. Seeing that picture with the headlines made me think that if I were there at their little “die-in” I would light up a string
if Firecrackers and run to see how fact they get up and flee the scene.

  7. Occasionally the National Review gets it right. It’s definitely not gun violence the left hates, it’s us. When’s the last time you saw a caricature of an “inner city youth” in a pro gun control editorial cartoon?

    • Well, the current administration’s policies, politics and contemp for process and precedent make sense more as consequences of a cultural preference than in themselves.

    • That’s true. Where are the reports and sketches and charicatures and exposes of all the hood thugs who do the great majority of crimes and gun crimes. Wait, they can’t do that, because dey dindu nuffin yoos raysis!
