In this contentious primary season, conversations of the political sort can sometimes get heated. That seems to have been the case at a Cleveland poling place this morning. A volunteer manning the voting operation at the Louisa May Alcott Elementary School “got into an argument with a fellow poll worker and pulled a .380 pistol out of his backpack, (Cleveland police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer) Ciaccia said. He didn’t point the gun at anyone, but verbally threatened people, she added.” . . .

He was arrested may be charged with “aggravated menacing, carrying concealed weapon and having weapons under a disability.” He was also found to have have been carrying a small amount of weed, so there’s that, too.

If Ohio’s like most states, volunteers have to identify themselves as either Democrats or Republicans in order to evenly staff the polls. What are the odds that the cleveland.com report would have ID’d his party affiliation if the miscreant had been a GOP volunteer?

  1. The Donald’s followers strike again… why are people voting for this rabble rouser? To keep this legitimate I have to ask, what make/model was the gat, and is .380 the appropriate caliber for polling place confrontations? Or only for small handed people?

    • “why are people voting for this rabble rouser?” I think it’s really cute when I see this question.

      • Me, too. When people ask that question, the implication is that they don’t already know the answer, or can’t even conceive of the answer. That’s cute because it reveals a wide eyed hopefulness and obliviousness to what’s going on out there.

Really, who wants to believe that millions of reckless, destructive fools are out there voting for this loudmouthed snake oil salesman to be President for no other reason than they’re pop culture celebrity worshippers who feel like they’re part of a reality show? These Trumpkins are all whooping and hollering and thinking he’s their guy and is going to “stick it to the Man” for them.

That reality is too dismal to consider, so people ask “why are they supporting him”, in adorable expectation that there’s actially some, any, legitimate reason.

      • ….. A Hillary voter. Clinton and Rahm Emanuel campaign donator. Anti 2nd amendment. Pro single payer system. Democrat. Big city/big money liberal….. Donald was a lot of things a year or two ago…. But now he’s a conservative republican….. Just ask him,…. He’ll tell you all about how he’s a conservative republican.

  2. Trump is causing the dems to shit themselves and lose their nut. We’ll be hearing about killings before November.

    • sometimes, i really hate to agree with you and wish you are wrong, but I don’t think you are.

Some starry eyed believer in unicorns will have their world view obliterated and go off the deep end. The last shreds of sanity and reason will be cast aside. Then some vile act of violence and bloodshed will occur and all of a sudden its MY scary guns that are the problem. Some elected clowns will write a bunch of indecipherable non-sense, vote about among themselves then have the clown-in-chief rubber stamp it.

Mean while, I wander around looking for affordable .22lr while I am becoming a criminal because the circus is broken.

      • “Then some vile act of violence and bloodshed will occur and all of a sudden its MY scary guns that are the problem. “

Do you really think that is an accident in any way, shape or form?

The MSM ignores hot-button cases left and right just waiting for ones to come along that makes the narrative sellable. Ferguson is a great example; lots of cases of ‘questionable Police conduct’ in shooting innocents, and THAT is the case they latch onto?

Aren’t we just a LITTLE bit curious as to why the Colorado Springs incident at Planned Parenthood completely fell from the headlines in less than a week?

Not much really said about the San Bernadino incident these days, either?

Point is, “Wag the Dog” is happening. The MSM will harangue that poor sap you are describing into doing something. The moveon’s and the salon’s and the motherjones’ will push their narrative until some sadsack really does think “That’s the only way.”

And then they’ll have another story. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

    • Not only are we going to vote for Hillary, we’re going to contribute money. I want to hasten the inevitable so we can move on to America’s next era sooner rather than later.

    • It’s always so funny to find out these anti-gun Democrats End up getting busted doing stupid shit with guns! Just like that Asian guy in California who was like Feinstein’s Right hand man And he got busted for trying to sell An undercover FBI agent shoulder-fired rockets and heavy machine guns He serving Time in the federal state pen now!

      • That would be the Democrat — former California State Senator Leland Yee.

Yes, a prominent voice in calls for draconian gun-control laws and he was convicted of trying to smuggle firearms into the United States for illegal sales to criminal organizations!

It is quite stunning to see how many politicians get busted for criminal activity. Hmm. Politicians. Criminals. I think I am starting to see a common thread …

    • 2923.13 Having weapons while under disability.

      (A) Unless relieved from disability under operation of law or legal process, no person shall knowingly acquire, have, carry, or use any firearm or dangerous ordnance, if any of the following apply:

      (1) The person is a fugitive from justice.

      (2) The person is under indictment for or has been convicted of any felony offense of violence or has been adjudicated a delinquent child for the commission of an offense that, if committed by an adult, would have been a felony offense of violence.

      (3) The person is under indictment for or has been convicted of any felony offense involving the illegal possession, use, sale, administration, distribution, or trafficking in any drug of abuse or has been adjudicated a delinquent child for the commission of an offense that, if committed by an adult, would have been a felony offense involving the illegal possession, use, sale, administration, distribution, or trafficking in any drug of abuse.

      (4) The person is drug dependent, in danger of drug dependence, or a chronic alcoholic.

      (5) The person is under adjudication of mental incompetence, has been adjudicated as a mental defective, has been committed to a mental institution, has been found by a court to be a mentally ill person subject to court order, or is an involuntary patient other than one who is a patient only for purposes of observation. As used in this division, “mentally ill person subject to court order” and “patient” have the same meanings as in section 5122.01 of the Revised Code.

      (B) Whoever violates this section is guilty of having weapons while under disability, a felony of the third degree.

      (C) For the purposes of this section, “under operation of law or legal process” shall not itself include mere completion, termination, or expiration of a sentence imposed as a result of a criminal conviction.

    • Having a weapon if you’re a felon, on drugs, or you’ve been committed to a mental facility or a judge has found you mentally incompetent. It is a 3rd degree felony in Ohio.

    • It’s a very common charge in Ohio, usually given to someone who is drinking alcohol or using drugs while in possession of a gun.

  3. A lot of unstable crazy people volunteer their time to help their favorite candidate’s campaign. Politics seems to attract an abundance of crazy, not excluding the candidates themselves

  4. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see left wing attacks and bombings on polling places Iraq style in November.

  5. Cleveland rocks! No buddy yer supposed to shoot the voter or intimidate ala new black panther tactics…not yer fellow loons.

  6. Seems about right. When I went to the Board of Elections today the whole neighborhood smelled dank as can be. All the hoodrats came out to give Hillary the primary.

  7. According to find the data.com in 2008 the goofball had Democrat Party affiliation.
That explains so little coverage by our perfectly unbiased media.
The press in this country makes,Joe Goebbels look down right lame (Pun intended)
If the Chump ends up winning in Nov.I guess I’ll join the new party.
If Beast wins I’ll join the resistance. It should be fun for all!
Who will get the contracts for all the new “Camps” ?Lockheed, Halliburton, Trump inc, or Uncle Bill?
We are in for a real shit storm

    • Yep. As is more the norm than not now adays, the ones that end up being irresponsible and/or homicidal with a gun; is a lefty, or a Muslim.

The progressives/statists and the Muslims really do have a lot in common. Both ideologies have a directive of a complete submission to the state, both want the world under their total control and both believe the ends justify the means; so they will lie, cheat, steal and committ mass murder to accomplish thier goals.

      .

  8. Serious question: let’s assume that the story is written straight and that this guy obviously can’t control himself and pulls out a gun to end an argument. Should he still be able to legally carry a gun (if he was able to do so before) or should he become prohibited from doing so? And keep in mind that crimes like this don’t get people locked up for life.

I’d argue that he shouldn’t legally be able to carry, or at least not for quite some time- that is his debt to society to me, which isn’t just jail.

    • It is a serious question, and one that has no easy answer.

Though I understand the desire to jump to ‘prohibit’ this person from carrying in the future, I think a good dose of “punishment fit the crime” should be at work.

We don’t take someone’s DL away after their first wreck. We don’t chop off the hands of thieves anymore. We don’t suspend OTHER Constitutional rights on the basis of one crime or even one small set of crimes committed.

Whatever else (pro and con) it may be, a gun is a tool of self defense. Every living being as that natural right…to defend one’s own life. Period. Full Stop. End of Story. No exceptions.

We get into awfully murky territory when we try to play the game of “who REALLY has that natural right.” It is akin to saying some lives are worth more than others, and that is a very dangerous game to play. It seems like a fun game when we are making the rules, but in that game, the rules have a pesky way of being changed mid-inning.

My position is that we “punish” this guy for this act, and stop trying to play God over the universe by devaluing lives on the basis of some perceived future.

      • If he is convicted (which he will be) the laws will already prohibit him from ever owning a gun again as well as a carry permit.. Since he is obviously mentally unbalanced we are all better off if they do take his rights away. Not that a nut case like this will not go out and get an illegal gun. Next time the law will probably end his mayhem permanently.

    • Says the Socialist Statist that wants .gov to be everyone’s surrogate “parent.”

It’s cute how you take one incident, commit a blatant overgeneralization fallacy and make a sweeping statement about all of humanity.

Maybe your mental development has been sufficiently retarded that you can’t fathom thinking like an adult, but that does not mean no one can.

More logic fail…keep ’em coming. They are fun to read.
