“Between 88 and 92 people a day are killed by guns. We’re better than this.” – Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in her new campaign ad

  1. avatar thx855 says:

I think she’s right. Come on guys, lets help get those numbers up and be the better Hillary wants us to be…oh wait.

    1. avatar Angryaz says:

Beat me to the punch….. gun violence is real personal to her what with dodging sniper fire and alll……..

  2. avatar George says:

In case there was a hint of confusion in anyone’s mind.

As countries with restrictive firearms laws look to allow people to defend themselves, she leaves the cocoon of her protection to say that we little people should have none. Again proving her hypocrisy.

  3. avatar 505markf says:

Come on folks. We ARE better than this. Stop being such slackers. We ought to be capable on at least 100-150 a day. Is that what she means?

    1. avatar schernobyl says:

Yes but only if the people who die aren’t her voter base.

      1. avatar Another Robert says:

Actually, dead people are a very reliable part of any Dem’s voter base. They are probably more reliable dead than they were alive.

        1. avatar schernobyl says:

Which proves my point when a conservative dies he can now vote Democrat and why Hilary wants gun violence to happen to them.

        2. avatar Another Robert says:

          aha–yes, good point…

      2. avatar george from fort worth says:

she cares only if the “voters” are the right sort of people.

  4. avatar Hawkeye says:

Well, no. Between 30 and 31 people are killed with guns a day. 11,000÷365=30.1

Contrast that against people who fall and die, which is 84 a day, and you get a little bit of perspective.

Additionally, wouldn’t it be great if a journalist called any of these politicians out during an interview?

    1. avatar Chrispy says:

I liked it better when the politicians called out the journalists… See Cruz, Rubio, Trump at last debate.

Journalists are tasked with providing an “unbiased news”… They need to be called out on it. We already know that most of what a politician says is BS.

    2. avatar PeterK says:

Seriously. People applaud when someone in congress gets a dubious “science lesson”, but the media can’t muster up the beans to ask some real real obvious questions…

      1. avatar Billy-bob says:

        #HILLARYFORPRISON 2016

        Orange is her color.

    3. avatar actionphysicalman says:

I suspect that death by suicide is still a ‘killed’. It’s not murder (in the US) anymore though, amazingly enough.

    4. avatar Steve says:

Contrast that to ~100 suicides a day, of which 58 are firearm related… yet we ALSO know that firearm availability is completely unassociated with suicide rate (see Japan).

It’s a mental health issue, and why democrats continue to fight against well established facts I will never know. We need to start calling them “Mental health crisis deniers”

    5. avatar LarryinTX says:

Did you forget your new math? I’m pretty sure that 30.1 rounds to between 88 and 92 in Hillaryland.

      1. avatar Ethan says:

        *COUGH* common core *COUGH*

  5. avatar Fred Frendly says:

Keeping talking, Granny Pantsuits. The more you blather on the more people will realize how dangerous you are. Open borders, prisons being emptied, Black Panthers aka #blacklivesonly advising you, and you want to disarm us on top of it?

  6. avatar dh34 says:

Actually, you aren’t, better than that. And by you, I mean you and your big city, big labor, big entitlement Dems buddies. Your failed leadership, failed economic and social policies are to blame. You desire, no make that need, class, economic and cultural division to maintain your power base. Prosperity and growth are your enemies, because successful, confident, educated citizens don’t need your handouts and control.

  7. avatar mike oregon says:

Statistics without context followed by emotionally manipulative statements, nothing new here. Oddly Huffington post did a piece that mentioned the drop in violent crime over the last 25 years, but did so in a attack on the N.R.A.

    1. avatar Ethan says:

They do so love to have it both ways:
‘GUN CRIME’ IS OUT OF CONTROL!! We need to do something about guns.
See? Crime is dropping – you don’t need your guns.

The few dozen people left who comprise the “gun control movement” would have a little more credibility if they could at least get their stories straight between their own people.

  8. avatar actionphysicalman says:

Most people are better than average because she really drags the average down.

  9. avatar John Franco says:

We are better! Let’s prove it in 2016 by admitting the last 8 years were one of the darkest periods in the history of this nation. That we will NEVER vote into office another socialist democrat ever again and will fight against anyone that tries to circumvent our constitutional rights. We can start by putting this hag behind bars for her role in damaging this country while a member of this current regime.

    1. avatar TX Gun Gal says:

“We can start by putting this hag behind bars for her role in damaging this country while a member of this current regime.”
Not going to happen, Barry’s Justice Department is not to investigate, even if they did, found guilty, she would get, last day before strike of Midnight, would get a presidential pardon.

Hell, he goes off the reservation on Executive Orders so much, wouldn’t put it pass him to not give a “proactive” blanket pardon

  10. avatar C.Rogers says:

She could lie the other direction and say; “no people are killed with guns every day” and her idiots would buy into that too. Actually, that’s truer than her words since a person can only be killed with a gun once. It can’t be done every day.

    1. avatar 'liljoe says:

Well that depends… there’s dead, and mostly dead…

      1. avatar Xanderbach says:

If you get shot with a .45, you die. Then you die again, every day, into infinity…

        1. avatar Miracle Max says:

And when that happens, there’s only one thing you can do: go through their pockets and look for loose change.

  11. avatar Charles says:

Recent article exploring the rise in deaths among middle aged white people stated that 110 people a day die from drug overdoses of both legal and illegal drugs. Add the deaths due to the drug trade in general and it dwarfs other causes.

    1. avatar Cliff H says:

Add in the people who die due to “medical misadventure” and see what happens.

  12. avatar Geoff PR says:

If today is an epidemic, what was the crime rate of 1990?

  13. avatar PeterC says:

Other than suicides, the vast majority of gun-related deaths are Hillary’s supporters killing each other.

    1. avatar JR_in_NC says:

That’s why she wants them to do better.

How else can she continue to point to the problem as something only SHE can solve?

With falling violent crime rates, it’s getting a harder and harder sell for the Progressives/Socialists to sell the notion that they (and their ideologies) are “needed” to fix ’em.

Hence, the call for “her people” to do better. Essentially, she’s saying, “Step up the game, guys, we are losing credibility.”

      1. avatar neiowa says:

Which is why we MUST have judicial reform. Too many demtards are in prison where they are not committing the gun murders which the dems need. And not voting demtard.

  14. avatar FortWorthColtGuy says:

We are a nation of 319 million people. That is a huge number. I am sure with that many people bad things statistically happen all the time. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few people aren’t killed in lawn mower and vending machine accidents everyday too. With so many people the chances of something happening to someone is common. They never take into account how small the total gun deaths are compared to the nation as a whole. Then they compare us to nations with less than 10% our population and act like it is apples to apples

    1. avatar neiowa says:

Send 20+million “refugees”, “guest workers” and illegals back to THEIR home (or build them towns in Iraq). Certainly cut crime 20%.

    2. avatar JSJ says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if a few people aren’t killed in lawn mower and vending machine accidents everyday too

And you shouldn’t be. According to the CPSC, 75 people are killed annually by lawn mowers and an eye-popping 25,000 more are injured, 10,000 of them children.
I can’t seem to find a “Moms against Lawnmower Violence” chapter near me?
Vending machines are blamed for an average of 2.5 deaths/year.
Hell, falling coconuts wipe out 150 people/year and champagne corks off another 24.

  15. avatar James says:

No Ovary Clinton, apparently we are not better than that otherwise you’d have been in prison decades ago instead of the coroneted Democratic party nominee for President (and no Bernie is not in this to win, he sick of hearing about his damned chances)

  16. avatar RockOnHellChild says:

    Those naughty guns.

  17. avatar RandaII says:

And to counter Hillary’s bogus arguments in a friendly visual form:

  18. avatar Bob says:

Pretty sure when she says that, she really means, “I’m better than you”.

    1. avatar FedUp says:

      ^This.

  19. avatar TJ Larson says:

    So… here’s the logic breakdown.

“Between 88 and 92 people a day are killed by guns. We’re better than this.”
    Ban guns.
“Between 88 and 92 people a day are killed by knives. We’re better than this.”
    Ban knives.
“Between 88 and 92 people a day are killed by rocks. We’re better than this.”
    Ban rocks.
“Between 88 and 92 people a day are killed by fists. We’re better than this.”
    Ban fists.
“Between 88 and 92 people a day are killed by people. We’re better than this.”
    Ban people. Oh wait.

This is the definition of insanity folks and ignoring the root problem — violent people.

  20. avatar Curtis in IL says:

“Between 80 and 85 people a day are killed by people with guns in large urban centers that have been controlled by Democrats for decades.” You should vote Republican, because we’re better than this.”

Fixed that for ya, honey. Good luck with your campaign.

  21. avatar Joe R. says:

    ‘We’re better than this.”

    1) No you are not, hundreds, if not thousands of babies are chopped up and sold for money to fund your and your party’s campaign(s).

    2) You wouldn’t KNOW better if it was tattooed on your face backwards.

    3) No one would turn to you in the hopes of becoming “better” as no one considers you a repository for such.

    4) WE ALREADY DO YOUR VERSION OF “BETTER” AND WE HAVE ACHIEVED THE SITUATION THAT YOU SAY WE NEED TO GET “BETTER” FROM.

FU evil blue house of (D) you owe us HUGE for the last three presidents you have fielded.

    1. avatar Gov. William J. Le Petomane says:

We slaughter about 2500 babies every day for ‘women’s health’, and yes, you’d think we were better than that, but we’re not.

      1. avatar LarryinTX says:

Do you believe in the Constitution, or do you not? Picking and choosing is not real reasonable, the abortion issue has been rued on by SCOTUS, will you comply with the United States Constitution, or will you not? If not, stop complaining about 2A issues, it is the same document.

        1. avatar Gov. William J. Le Petomane says:

The Constitution explicitly states that the right to keep and bear arms ‘shall not be infringed’. In no place does the Constitution say anything about the right to kill your unborn children, much like there isn’t a word about gay marriage in that document either. Rather, activist judges have read between the lines of the Constitution to create new ‘rights’. However, in the case of the ‘right to abortion’, Justice Blackmun wrote in the majority decision that if the ‘humanity of the fetus could be established it would nullify their decision’. In the last 4 decades, every shred of scientific evidence discovered has pointed squarely at the humanity of the fetus, rendering Roe v Wade null and void. Yet the left clings to it’s judicial activist victory and refuse to accept the science.

I’d also add that the Supreme court once ruled that blacks weren’t human and therefore could no more sue for their freedom than a horse could. That decision was 7-2.

  22. avatar JAlan says:

“How many people have to die?”

All of them. From my cold dead hands, Shrillary.

  23. avatar Gov. William J. Le Petomane says:

By my math that means you have a 1 in 10,000 chance of dying from a gunshot wound in a given year (most likely by your own hand). So odds are if you lived to be 10,000 you’d be shot and killed once. What Hildebeest should be talking about is how she beat the odds.

  24. avatar Shire-man says:

By all measures the age of politicking should have died a decade or more ago.
With these little interweb screens everyone has in their pocket making every little bit of data available to everyone 24/7 politicians should be put out of work.
Willful ignorance on the part of the people I suppose. Hear only what you want to. All opposing views are conspiracy. Never set aside emotional hysteria long enough to actually research anything.
As youth is wasted on the young information is certainly wasted on the people.

  25. avatar tjlarson2k says:

Translation: Gangs are still a problem in this country.

The antis will never win this debate because there are more guns being used for good than bad. And you simply can’t take away the most efficient means of protection in our time (for family and national security).

    1. avatar Woody W Woodward says:

I’m not sure the antis intend to “win a debate”. They mistakenly believe that all they need to do to get our arms is to manage to get at least one or two more elitist politically biased lawyers appointed to the SCOTUS, and that once that’s accomplished they will be able to overturn all pro-gun opinions and castrate OUR Constitution by removing the 2nd Amendment with a majority decision of the court. Of course, that action would fly in the face of the Constitution. But then, as they have proven time and time again, they don’t really give a damn about any portion of OUR Constitution that doesn’t agree with their agenda.
      [W3]

  26. avatar Woody W Woodward says:

The only smidgen of truth she has allowed to slip out of her mouth in decades is that she supports the Australian method (that would be confiscation) of gun control.
    [W3]

  27. avatar Louis Marschalko says:

    Shillary wants unarmed pissants.

    1. avatar LarryinTX says:

Well, they do not really deserve consideration from one so exalted as herself, are you expecting her to soil herself in such a way?

  28. avatar Jim Jones says:

There is NO EPIDEMIC. Murder rates are lower than they ever been. Don’t let these fools have their echo chambers.

  29. avatar pg2 says:

She is very likely to be the next President.

    1. avatar FedUp says:

…after her strongest competitor dies of highly suspicious suicide…

    2. avatar DisThunder says:

She keeps doubling down on stupid like this, she may very well be a self-solving problem. I actually think her deliberate latching on to gun control might be her biggest mistake yet.

    3. avatar Bob201 says:

Unfortunately, if that is true, she will be the last “elected” president of the United States as we know it today.

  30. avatar gs650g says:

Come on hillary abortion kills more than that each day. Oops wrong outrage, sorry.

  31. avatar James in Florida says:

Well over 500 people a day dying due to malpractice…doctors making deadly mistakes….wtf?
So why not fix that first?

    1. avatar Another Robert says:

Does that make the AMA a “terrorist” organization?

    2. avatar Pg2 says:

Prescribed medications/drugs taken as prescribed kill 128,000 Americans a year. This is the official number, meaning the actual number is very likely to be much higher.

  32. avatar FedUp says:

Together…we can finish what President Obama started and finally extinguish Liberty once and for all…

  33. avatar displacer says:

That’s roughly true if you take suicides into account, so thank god that she’s going to stop that with magazine capacity restrictions. It’s the 11th self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face that really does most people in, you know

    1. avatar LarryinTX says:

I’m pretty sure there is scientific evidence of that!

    2. avatar HandyDan says:

Hillary doesn’t understand suicide, one of the multitudes of deaths surrounding the Clinton duo`s rise to power was a death caused by two bullets to the back of the head that was ruled as a suicide.

  34. avatar Chadwick P. says:

Yeah I could probably find more than 88 politicians a day that should be a part of those numbers… How’s that whole snuke up the sniz thing going hillhog?

  35. avatar BigDinVT says:

The number HRC uses, 92 deaths a day, looks like a statistic from 2013.

According to http://www.gunviolencearchive.org/, 2015 year-to-date the US has seen 11,085 deaths; divided by 307 (the number of days since the start of the year) we’ve seen an average of 36 deaths a day. Same website, 2014, total gun deaths was 12,566, or an average of 34 deaths a day.

I’m guessing I looked at the data pretty much the same way as Hildarbeast’s wonks did – without taking into account the nature of the deaths – gang-on-gang, suicide or accidental. Nor does the information I grabbed take into account the legality of the perpetrators’ possession of firearms (I’m sure many were already prohibited persons). However the statistics appear to support a significant decline in firearms related deaths in just the last two years (the “immoral mathematics”). I guess we HAVE done better.

Hillary’s remorseful moaning about how “we can do better” is pettifoggery. What she’s doing is harming this nation by creating fear and division with the needless constant waving of the bloody shirt.

Moreover it is my opinion that the demonization of firearms to a point of the supernatural only fuels the fire of the mentally ill who see mass murder as their ticket to infamy. If you want to see a decrease in mass murders stop encouraging the perpetrators by making guns appear to more than the inanimate objects they are.

  36. avatar Alan Longnecker says:

Every day between 200 and 5000 people use guns to defend themselves.

    1. avatar LarryinTX says:

      They should be SHOT!

  37. avatar Ralph says:

That old crank’s aggressive anti-gun agitprop shows that gun control is not the third rail of American politics unless we make it so.

The question is: Which group will turn out the most votes in November? Will it be people like us who cherish our freedom, or will it be the soccer moms and beta males who cherish Hillary’s vagina?

  38. avatar RMan says:

We still have another year of this….uuuggggghhhhh…
FYI. If you want to join NRA (I’m assuming they will throw their full weight behind stopping her) http://www.shootingusa.com (Jim Scoutten) is running a special on life membership..only 500 bucks…

  39. avatar Illinois_Minion says:

    Excuse me. Hillary. Presidential wannabe…..

How do you plan on enforcing law breakers, such as the inner city gangsters, to follow these laws you propose?

  40. *”The ad opens with Mrs. Clinton saying, “This epidemic of gun violence knows no boundaries. Between 88 and 92 people a day are killed by guns. We’re better than this.””*

Speaking of community and individual quality of life harming EPIDEMICS, has Mrs. Clinton ever addressed America’s expanding and shameful *National Epidemic of Childhood Abuse and Neglect*, *Poverty*, that for more than two generations has deprived untold numbers of American kids from experiencing and enjoying a fairly happy American kid childhood with Safe Streets to travel and play on.

*Early Childhood Abuse and Neglect* that often leads depressed, sometimes suicidal **(NY Times May 18, 2015 – Rise in Suicide by Black Children Surprises Researchers)** children to develop into depressed, angry, frustrated, unpredictable, sometimes suicidal teens and adults lacking empathy and compassion for others, though needing to vent their pent up negative emotions, often causing emotional and physical harm to peaceful people…instead of venting their anger, resentment and pain on the immature single moms and/or dads who introduced them to a life of pain and struggle by irresponsibly building a family before acquiring the practical skills, *PATIENCE* and means to successfully raise and nurture a developing young child who matures into a fairly happy responsible teen and adult.

    1. avatar george from fort worth says:

The issues you mentioned, and gun violence are all reduced to a single source…guns.

    2. avatar JSJ says:

“This epidemic of gun violence knows no boundaries.

It actually has very clearly defined boundaries. If you avoid drugs, gangs, gun-free zones and don’t shoot yourself, your chances of being shot are statically zero.
But that’s no way to gin up support for restrictions and bans, you have to pretend it’s a problem that could affect anyone, anywhere at any time. (it isn’t)

  41. avatar HandyDan says:

Anybody else get the impression she thinks she is a preacher in a church from that video? I kept waiting to hear someone shout “Amen!”

    1. avatar BigDinVT says:

That’s the same thought I had about BHO during his campaigns – snake oil salesman.
