MS Delta State Shooter Triggered By Alleged Love Triangle

Shannon Lamb is on the

“A Delta State University geography instructor is on the run after shooting dead his girlfriend and then a colleague on Monday morning,” dailymail.co.uk reports. “Shannon Lamb, 45, [above] allegedly gunned down church outreach minister Amy Prentiss, 41, at their home in Gautier, Mississippi, at around 6am local time on Monday. He then allegedly drove 300 miles to his place of work, called 911 to alert them to Prentiss’ death, then opened fire on the campus at 10.45am local time, killing assistant history professor Ethan Schmidt . . .

While police have kept mum about a possible motive at this stage in the probe, Fox News reported late Monday afternoon that investigators believe a love triangle may be behind the two killings.

The news site claimed citing unnamed sources that Lamb may have been under the impression that his lover was also in a relationship with Schmidt, who was married.

As of this writing Lamb is still on the.

300 miles from his house to work? That kind of commute will cause a mofo to lose his nut.

    1. avatar Hawkeye says:

Hey what kind of scooter is that?

      1. avatar jwm says:

D’oh. This is what happens when white guys try to be hip hop and happening. Think I’ll go stand in the corner now for a while.

        1. avatar ThomasR says:

Nope. Just another typical lefty shooter that has no past history of gun ownership or an obvious violent past going postal with a gun.

You know, it is the leftists that say that regular people (leftists) can’t be trusted with a gun nearby. It turns them into homicidal maniacs.

So far, they certainly seem to be correct. Of course, it’s not the gun. But the progressives belief is based on self-hatred, self-loathing, feeling powerless, helpless and ineffectual.

Full of self hate, they project these feelings upon the world, and from the self righteous wrath of the victim, exploding in a homicidal rampage dispensing their wrath upon those they blame for their pathetic state.

No traction on this-move along. Barely a blip on the newz.

    1. avatar Roscoe says:

Maybe that’s because professor Lamb is the perfect picture of a liberal progressive Democrat anti-gun extremist…and he used a gun to solve his emotional problems.

The usual diatribe and implications from Scott Pelly on CBS about “more gun deaths” was totally absent during the uncharacteristically short report he gave about the incidents. and no editorial comments about “more gun control” or lamenting about how “gun crime’ is out of control.

Shocked I was at his lack of antigun condemnation. Maybe that was because the perp was so clearly liberal he and his liberal elite news-masters didn’t want to make too much of the tragedy out of embarrassment.

    Ban geography…for the children.

    1. avatar uncommon_sense says:

      Ban love triangles!

If only we had universal background checks, this love triangle would have never happened.

      1. avatar Julio says:

        Ban Geometry then?

      2. avatar Bob says:

Right, if we don’t ban triangles, next there will be love hexagons everywhere. And God forbid that would just lead to love dodecahedrons. 3d love geometry? Clearly, TEOTWAWKI

Love is best when its a straight line between two points. And that’s not a slam on the gay folks.

  4. avatar Adub says:

I don’t think it necessarily had to be a love triangle. After shooting the girlfriend (for whatever reason) he might have decided to go all-in and get rid of a coworker he didn’t like. Going on the run probably means he’s hoping for suicide by cop. Or a teaching position at Yale.

    1. avatar uncommon_sense says:

What is the saying, “The first time (violent crime) is expensive, but the rest are free.” … or something like that.

  5. avatar Ken says:

Doesn’t fit the agenda. It will fade away since a deranged student didn’t do it.

    1. avatar Special K says:

Tru dat. Every liberal academic I know (but I repeat myself) posted about the attack on FB and used it to “prove” why campus carry was a bad idea. Then it came out that the gunman was a professor. Crickets.

      1. avatar nynemillameetuh says:

For being “against the man” liberals sure are credentialists these days.

    2. avatar Tex300BLK says:

Yeah, although for the media that’s a win too because they basically drop the story without giving any more details and the average reader is left wondering “gee they never caught that guy, I wonder who it was? Maybe this could happen to me?” Which for the cause is just about as damaging.

  6. avatar ST says:

Just remember, boys and girls; everyone has ‘that one ex’ who was a little unglued.

Hope you’ve got something on your hip besides good intentions should your paramour’s past arrive armed with a weapon and a desire to settle some scores.

  7. avatar Ben says:

I hope they catch the SOB soon, he is likely a clever man and the longer this takes the further he gets away. Not a guy you want on the Lamb.

I sometimes wonder what could drive a man to such extremes.

It makes a case for campus carry for all, because sometimes even the teachers loose their shit.

        No, Alan Cumming.

Anywho, just another POS liberal (D) head late for jail.

The DemoKKKrat’s favored “Free-Fire Zone” policy failed to stop yet another school shooting.

    Go figure.

1/2 of the adults in the US are unemployed and Obumer finds it necessary to import Geography eggheads from Germany? I supposed will replace the guy with 8 Syrians by next week.

  11. avatar Taylor TX says:

Well thats not a creepy photo at all… Money Shot!

In all seriousness, this story doesnt fit the criteria to be a successful bloody shirt waving operation.
    Workplace violence, move along!

    Pete Campbell?

  13. avatar Anonymous says:

He was probably a democrat … Again.

  14. avatar Grindstone says:

I’m totally sure if we had universal background checks in place, the system would’ve totally caught someone who would lose his sh!t over his girl cheating on him. Totally.
Oh, you say it won’t? Well, I guess we’ll just have to ban all guns then!

  15. avatar Rusty Chains says:

Clearly Lamb was the black sheep of the family!

  16. avatar Ralph says:

So was Lamb’s girlfriend Prentiss cheating with Schmidt, or was Lamb’s boyfriend Schmidt cheating with Prentiss?

…and this is my other brother Deryl.

  18. avatar Coffee Addict says:

“Shannon Lamb” … his parents set him up to be a target for bullying most of his childhood. . What kind of deranged people do that to a boy?

  19. avatar LongPurple says:

Why does the report of this incident contain the comment that Lamb “then opened fire on the campus at 10.45am local time, killing assistant history professor Ethan Schmidt . . .”?
Did Lamb “open fire” on a number of people “on the campus” or did he target no one other than Ethan Schmidt?

I suspect the “journalist” is attempting to make this apparent love triangle shooting appear to be a school mass-murder on the scale of Cho at Virginia Tech.

    1. avatar BDUB says:

Yeah, that was my question as well.

And, as is typical, the murderer killed himself, rather than allow himself to be captured by the police:

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/09/14/mississippi-shooter-delta-state-university/72255856/

Police in Mississippi say the man suspected in the deaths of a university professor and his live-in companion died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Monday.

Officials said Greenville Police Department officers tried pull Lamb over, at which point he stopped, got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

Police heard a shot, and shortly thereafter, found Lamb with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Earlier Monday, police said they spoke with the suspect, Shannon Lamb, and he told them that he had no intention of going to jail.

    1. avatar Roscoe says:

Typical arrogant liberal elitist mindset on display with Lamb’s statement.

Another gun free zone; liberal illusions fail again.

Thats not a offical no gun zone for an enhanced permit holder !!
