FPSRussia Finds His Mojo

TTAG Irresponsible Gun Owner of the Day Hall of Famer FPSRussia has been pulling a Kirsten Joy Weiss as of late. He’s been doing things (e.g., gun reviews) for which he was justifiably not famous. I blame the double-tap to the cranium assassination of his agent/partner, a crime that remains unsolved. With this effort, FPS has rediscovered his groove. He’s doing something remarkably, gloriously, ballistically stupid. While FPS’s bowling ball lands we know not where, I reckon we can assume no humans were threatened (although I wonder if there were any arbor-related double pinochles). Let’s hope Kyle continues to push the envelope – in terms of using ridiculous firepower to blow things (the word Google prefers) up. Safely.

Wait are you saying KJW is justifiably not famous? Not cool, RF. Not cool.

    1. avatar Robert Farago says:

Nope. I’m saying that she should stick to trick shots. Focus. It’s a thing.

      1. avatar BlueBronco says:

Your just pissed that he is a top 10 youtuber and everything he posts gets half million views before the week is out.

        1. avatar Virginia Gunner says:

He can be entertaining, but I would rather have Hickok45 for a neighbor. With FPS, I would be a little nervous about stray bullets/LAW rockets/artillery coming my way.

        2. avatar 16V says:

He’s a pathetic redneck white trash douche with a more cartoonishly fake Russian accent than Boris Badenov. He’s as Russian as Larry the Cable Guy is a hoosier. (Protip: ‘Chris the Comedian’ was the first character which failed…)

That anyone cares of he lives or dies, let alone watches his snore-fest vids, is a testament to how soft American kids have become as of late. As a normal kid living in the boonies in the ’70s, we blew up stuff all the time, fired larger guns, and did all sorsta mischief. It was commonly known as being a kid.

I wouldn’t be surprised if his “partner” was killed by actual Russians. They don’t find the moron schtick amusing…

        3. avatar BlueBronco says:

The fake accent goes along with the spoof. We did a lot of shit in the 70s and 80s too. However, we didn’t have access to a Stewart Tank, Ma Deuces and shit.

      2. avatar BlueBronco says:

If you had a bowling ball sized hole through your barn and tree, you would know what happened, lol. Bessy would probably quit producing milk and the hens stop laying.

      3. avatar ghost says:

Can she cook? (as to KJW).

  2. avatar Kent W says:

After a few cocktails he is entertaining.

  3. avatar Ashton says:

His father owns a large farm. From my understanding, he shoots most of his videos there. That bowling ball was shot at no more than a 15 degree angle. I doubt it went more than 200 yards downrange.

    1. avatar BlueBronco says:

40 ATF agents raided the farm while they were on vacation a couple of years ago.

      1. avatar Matt says:

        Link?

  4. avatar Evan says:

One day the IV8888 crew is going to get hit by a stray bowling ball.

  5. avatar Mikial says:

Fun! Looks like something to do on a Saturday afternoon.

  6. avatar Virginia Gunner says:

My favorite episode is when he rode a the tank through the drive-through window for a burger. Which I think he has done more than once.

Yeah, his comments about the drive through lady were rude. But I laughed.

  7. avatar josh knott says:

lol every time fps posts a video I find it funny he always end up in the corner of IGOTD (hahah) Either way Robert, he is an entertainer, the farm is huge, the loss of his partner a tragic circumstance no matter the situation on hand. The guy is reckless no doubt, but so are people who skydive, wingsuit etc., (yes I believe he needs to be more catious) but I gotta ask, Why do you really dislike this guy, Did you have a bad run in with him?
also, anyone ever get down to the nitty gritty when the atf raided this guys place?

    1. avatar JR Pollock says:

The raid happened right after his friend/partner was killed, so it’s safe to say they were looking for evidence of his involvement. ATF & Georgia Bureau of Investigation did the raid. Found nothing, no charges filed.

      1. avatar BlueBronco says:

The raid was over a year after the partner was killed. The ATF wasn’t investigating his murder. The idiots couldn’t figure out how he was making money of of youtube.

      2. avatar LarryinTX says:

ATF certainly has no business investigating murder, or investigating Youtube either. Do they even have a legitimate job? They’re supposed to investigate tax matters.

        1. avatar JR Pollock says:

The ATF doesn’t investigate murder, usually. The GBI does. They used the ATF to obtain a federal warrant from a federal judge in Atlanta looking for evidence of illegal explosives. All they would have to do is play a few of his videos, and the judge will give them the warrant. Then, the ATF “invites” the GBI to come along and poke around. This is done routinely, one agency can’t get a warrant, so they’ll find an agency with standing to apply for a different warrant, in a different court.

Ratliff was found dead on Jan 3, 2013, the raid was carried out on March 25, 2013, eleven weeks later.

“Why do you really dislike this guy, Did you have a bad run in with him?”

When he posts videos like the one below here, it puts POTG in a very un-favorible light.

As gun owners, we don’t need that bullsh!t…

      1. avatar BlueBronco says:

Do you prefer Elmer Fudd cartoons?

        1. avatar Ralph says:

Be vewy qwiet. FPSWussia is hunting wabbits.

        2. avatar 16V says:

If you’re over the age of say, 30, then you know that ‘FPS’ stands for “Feminine Protection Spray” which is a polite way of marketing ‘deodorant for the stank generated by the hairy beavers of the 70s’.

Thankfully no longer required. Just like this dolt.

        3. avatar BlueBronco says:

Some people just lack a sense of humor. Often, people the use “dolt” are dolts themselves.

        4. avatar TheBear says:

If you’re under the age of 40 you know that “FPS” stands for First Person Shooter and FPS Russia is marketed at a younger audience.

    3. avatar Alex says:

For my part, I dislike the fact that his actions promote unsafe use of firearms. I’d say it’s no different than the “extreme shopping cart” shenanigans of the early 2000s thanks to Jackass, but it is different. It’s different because firearms are involved. There’s a stereotype out there that most gun owners are reckless and infantile. We know this is not the case, but people on the fence might see FPSRussia and think otherwise.

  8. avatar Tom in Oregon says:

I need a bowling ball cannon.

    1. avatar JWM says:

      A punkin’ chunkin’ cannon.

    2. avatar JD says:

I thought the same thing until I built a pop can mortar. It shoots tennis balls in the neighborhood on the 4th and concrete filled pop cans out in the boonies. A can will go 700+ yards with a 45 degree elevation and 225 grains of 2x black powder. I couldn’t afford the powder needed to launch bowling balls.

      1. avatar Tom in Oregon says:

        OMG!
        Seriously?
OK. New hobby. I need specs. Or a place to buy. What a hoot!

        1. avatar JD says:

I will get you some measurements of what I built. I found the parts in the scrap pile at a metal supply house a couple years ago and it was cheap when paying by the pound as scrap pieces. I modeled it off the simple golf ball mortars you can find photos of doing a search.

        2. avatar Geoff PR says:

      2. avatar Taylor TX says:

You need to create your own “Even you can Pop Can Mortar!” instructional blog, I can only imagine the glory of sugary indirect fire 🙂

      3. avatar Roymond says:

My dad had a homemade steel post driver, a half-inch steel plate welded to the end of a piece of pipe. A high school friend one day noted how much it looked like an old-fashioned artillery mortar — so we turned it into one.

Our first launch effort with a baseball resulted in baseball “confetti”…

Once the dad found out, we had to switch to tennis balls and a cannon made of the old steel tennis ball cans.

    3. avatar Roymond says:

A friend in geology class (volcanology) built a bowling ball catapult, which he used to launch his “unlucky ball” into a lava flow.

The catapult went in, too, to eliminate the evidence, the act of launching a bowling ball into a lava flow being of questionable legality.

  9. avatar Rick the Bear says:

As long as he takes responsibility for his actions, let him do his thing. He gets to fire stuff I could never shoot.

And, as always, have nice day. 8>)

  10. avatar SD3 says:

FPS Russia’s balls are the size of ripe cantaloupes.

    1. avatar Defens says:

In Russia, people are appendage hanging off balls.

    2. avatar 16V says:

If you mean Lego scale cantaloupes, then maybe.

  11. I had hoped this clown had finally gone away.

  12. avatar Gatha58 says:

I have only watched his video with the semi-auto shotgun where he blows the hinges off of a door some some other tricks. Thought that video was funny as hell. He is one wild and crazy guy. Doing what he loves and making money. Can’t fault him for that. Looks like his safety procedures definitely need work though 😉 !

    1. avatar BlueBronco says:

True! Some people just can’t differentiate what this guy does and what guys like James Yeager do. They have 2 totally different purposes.

      1. avatar TheBear says:

Yeah… I’m yet to see FPS Russia challenge anyone to a duel or write a duelling contract…

        1. avatar BlueBronco says:

          LOL

  13. avatar ghost says:

Does The Bureau Of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, And Really Big Erections know about this guy?

    1. avatar BlueBronco says:

We talked about that already, and yes he was raided by 40 ATF agents when he was on vacation in 2013.

  14. avatar Anaxis says:

    @ Geoff PR
I’ve seen a lot of his videos, but never that one. You are most definitely right; we don’t need those kinds of hazardous antics with that kind of exposure, which has evidently already cost someone else’s life…. one way or another.
I’ve met a couple guys almost as reckless as this clown is, and I made it a habit to stay as far away from them as possible. I love fun with firearms, but not the “hey ya’ll watch this” sort; especially if accompanied by a horrible Russian accent and disregard for common-sense…. he’s the embodiment of every gun-grabber & cops’ stereotypical gun-nut, only with a fake accent. It’s amazing they haven’t found a way to strip him of those guns and toss the guy into a real gulag for keeps.

  15. avatar ghost says:

Is satire criminal? Willing to bet the guy is no fool. Be careful about underestimating. I could be wrong, I have underestimated myself. Never believed Viagra could last that long, and my date did not show up.
