What Could Possibly Go Wrong? Everytown for Gun Safety Creates ‘News’ Service

a - Bloomberg_7

“Everytown for Gun Safety, the nonprofit advocacy organization co-chaired by Michael Bloomberg, is launching an adjacent news operation, scheduled to debut in June, Capital has learned.” A Bloomberg-funded “news” organ featuring the talents of former New Republic scribe James Burnett and Joe Nocera’s one-time girl Friday, Jennifer Mascia. Mayor Mike clearly sees an un-met need in the information landscape. Obviously, the current mainstream media aren’t sufficiently anti-gun enough, given recent trends in public opinion vis-à-vis firearms. Think of it as an Al Jazeera for the civilian disarmament set. This should be, well, interesting if not entertaining.

Well, this’ll take a few more of his millions out of play as his little venture flops…

    1. Which is kinda like you or me dropping a Benjamin.

      1. avatar Mark Lloyd says:

        @ DZ

But look at the material his little production will provide TTAG. It will be like Bill Clinton and cigars only more satisfying, well unless you’re Bill or Monica I’m guessing.

        1. No question. It will be a content gold mine. If Mikey didn’t exist, we’d have to make him up.

    2. avatar dwb says:

Millions spent buying propaganda and politicians, not a dime for gun safes, locks, or training. But he supports the right to leep and bear arms*!

*except in NY, NJ, MD, CT, MA, and CA.

  2. avatar Vhyrus says:

You know, in an era of ‘fair and balanced’ and ‘no spin’, isn’t it nice to find a guy who is willing to admit he’s lying to you every night?

    1. avatar Ben says:

That’s what I’m curious about. Would this channel play the tit-for-tat game and publicize ever single incident of a violent crime involving a firearm? Or would they just put up a few talking heads to blatantly lie and spread misinformation?

      1. avatar Gatha58 says:

Sure to be a one sided propaganda network. The only counter arguments will be from someone that has NO debating skills and is basically a shill. That makes them look like they are airing both sides but reinforces their positions.

        1. avatar Ben says:

A paid for faux Devil’s Advocate.

      2. avatar Cuteandfuzzybunnies says:

Umn your really having to ask?

  3. avatar racer88 says:

So, they’re doubling-down on what hasn’t worked so far?

    1. avatar Ben says:

Remember what that asshole who runs CAGV said, the loudest wins.

    2. avatar Geoff PR says:

“So, they’re doubling-down on what hasn’t worked so far?”

      Repeat after me:

      “Never interrupt your enemy …”.

      1. avatar racer88 says:

        Exactly! 🙂

  4. avatar Gatha58 says:

His very own Propaganda Network. How charming.

    1. avatar Vhyrus says:

I’m pretty sure bloomberg news already exists.

  5. avatar Another Robert says:

New Republic. Home of the “Baghdad Fabulist”. Fits, I guess.

  6. avatar Mk10108 says:

It’s not about gun control. It’s about people working for Bloomberg interested in collecting their coin that they will forgo facts & logic for cash flow.

Contitutional right to bear arms sold for 30 pieces of silver. Everyone participating in this venture a Judas.

  7. avatar Indiana Tom says:

“Everytown for Gun Safety, the nonprofit advocacy organization co-chaired by Michael Bloomberg, is launching an adjacent news operation, scheduled to debut in June, The news operation will be titled Pravda and will provide totally unbiased and objective news coverage of gun control, global warming controls, social spending issues, foreign peace in our time policies, one way trade agreements, soft drink sodas, abrogation of the Constitution, Marxist Leninist policies, Crony Capitalism political deals, Liberation Theology, and other vital Communist and National Socialist issues. Mike prides himself on being the anti-thesis to Ayn Rand and considers himself a real hero for politically correct peoples everywhere.

  8. avatar Bonega says:

Shouldn’t the stresses of the constant lying, deception and general dishonesty have caused this prick a fatal heart attack by now?

    1. avatar Ralph says:

Old billionaires never die. That pr1ck will be torturing America for another twenty years, and then his foundation, like the Joyce Foundation, will continue on forever.

      1. avatar Bonega says:

He is resembling Mr. Burns more and more.

      2. avatar Mister Fleas says:

Yep. Some day We the People are going to have to go after the foundations.

    2. avatar (Formerly) MN Matt says:

I think you need a heart to have a heart attack.

  9. avatar dh34 says:

  10. avatar William says:

Might be able to set what the conversation will be. I hope our side and the new media brings their A game.

  11. avatar RockOnHellChild says:

I’d rather watch the Antiques Roadshow.

    1. avatar Ralph says:

Real reality television. As a past collector, I like that show.

  12. avatar Mark Lloyd says:

Oh just think, old hens with nothing to do except have Tupperware and Windows 7 parties can turn on Bloombags idiotic gun hate channel. Heck, it’s every bit as good as every nauseous soap opera or incredibly lame sitcom available.

You got to hand it to Bloombag though, his gun control is working out like a sinking Titanic. He’s be down there in the bilge with a pink kids pail bailing water muttering I can do it, I’m rich, I can do it, I’m rich.

  13. avatar William says:

People of the Gun 12 Rules for Dealing with Radicals

RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks the NRA has.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. Groups like the NRA is made up of lots people that are willing to spend their own hard earned money.

RULE 2: “Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone. We have facts and knowledge about guns and how they are used. The foes of freedom are clueless.

RULE 3: “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty. Keep hitting them when they say something boneheaded about firearms. It hurts them. Facts are to anti-guners, like crosses are to vampires

RULE 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules. Armed body guards for me, but no guns for thee.

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions. They bring it on themselves and they deserve it too boot.

RULE 6: “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones. Open carry in Krogers seem to piss them off to no end. I’m just saying.

RULE 7: “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” I’m kinda drawing a blank here….

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new. So where can’t we carry guns at the moment.

RULE 9: “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist. They do know we have guns and we are everywhere.

RULE 10: “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” And if it’s positive that they say is a negative and you keep pushing it….

RULE 11: “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” More freedom is always the correct answer.

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Michael Bloomberg is a hateful raciest elites pick that thinks he can buy what he wants and the world need to know this.

    1. avatar Cuteandfuzzybunnies says:

You forgot best defense is a good offense and divide and conquer. We should be trying to get more guns in the hands of poor minorities. We should be offering EXTRA money for teachers to take training to carry at school. We should be pushing for high schools to have marksmanship clubs that employ an EXTRA teacher. Imagine if 30 % of the schools

      1. avatar William says:

        Very good points.

    2. avatar foodog says:

That is a keeper, copied and bookmarked, passing it along.

  14. avatar Sammy says:

    “What could possibly go wrong?”

More like what will possibly be the truth?

  15. avatar Tom in Oregon says:

And just like a low information voter, people will believe what his news people tell them because it’s on TV so it must be true.

  16. avatar Ralph says:

Put it on Nickelodeon and call it “Every Clown for Gun Safety.” The kids will love it.

    1. avatar Geoff PR says:

Id like to Micheal Moore with a red rubber nose and floppy feet…

      1. avatar Geoff PR says:

*AGAIN*, no edit window was there, what’s up with that Dan Z?

        Make that –

I’d like to see Micheal Moore with a red rubber nose and floppy feet…

        1. We’re not hearing much about that. Browser?

        2. avatar Geoff PR says:

That reply was firefox, I’l try Chrome here for a bit and find out…

  17. avatar dwb says:

I am sure we won’t catch them in any lies for at least a few days after they publish.

Incidentally, this will only hasten the demise of the Brady Campaign. One wonders what will happen to VPC and Brady long term.

  18. avatar Mark Lloyd says:

There’s an old saying….if I can get it right…. You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all the people some of the time, but you can never fool all the people all of the time.
Bloombag through his enormous ego and substantial character flaws is attempting to fool all the people all of the time. Yes he is strategically picking his battles and will inevitably win a few, but he’s going to lose the war and he is so vain, he doesn’t recognize it! He can put on his little show, change it around and spend is stupid amounts of money, but he will remain an unhappy despicable little man who in the end, will fail.

  19. avatar Southern Cross says:

A western version of the Soviet era “information” organs Pravda and Izvestia. Literally translated as “The Truth” and “The News”. The irony was not lost on the Russians who used to joke “There’s no news in The Truth, and no truth in The News”.

    1. avatar the ruester says:

“There is no post in Everytown News, and no news in the Huffington Post.”

  20. avatar DamDoc says:

Who was that trojan horse working for bloomberg that wrote that glock book again?

  21. avatar John Franco says:

Well this little news outlet will certainly die from a lack of viewership. CNN and MSNBC will be greatful to have something even lower in the ratings than what they are getting.

  22. avatar Jeff the Griz says:

Can we start a gofundme, or start dropping paypal money into ttag so we can buy add time and saturate his channel with facts and send anti’s here?

  23. avatar CMM says:

So it will be like TTAG but with the opposite spin. It took Bloomberg a long time to come up with such an original idea.

  24. avatar Dev says:

    Stalin would be proud.

  25. avatar JohnO says:

Bloomy should set up an all-Democrat talk radio network. Hire Frankin & Davis to lead.

  26. avatar achmed says:

I think it is interesting that an anti-gun organization would feel motivated to do this. Obviously MSNBC are a bunch of anti-gun shitbirds, and CNN certainly has its fair share of idiots. But in the old days they would never have needed to do this. All the major media outlets WERE the anti-gun news service.

  27. avatar foo dog says:

Same Jennifer Macias that was “moderating” (censoring) the comments section in NYT Joe Nocera’s anti-gun column, while flacking and organizing for Bloomberg’s New York chapter of Moms Demand Action/Everytown. Eventually even NYT got embarrassed and shut Joe down

Same Jennifer Macias who wrote a tell all on her mobster family disfunction, lying and chearting, etc.
Resume shows Bloombergs Jennifer is The Gal For The BJ;ob as Bloomies Guns Agitprop for Progtard Dummies news outlet.

Comparing BJs Does Guns to Al Jizzera is an insult to Al Jizzera….at least the latter is clever about their lies and spin.

  28. avatar Kyle says:

    Good!

Al Gore’s liberal TV network insanity drained tons of cash from his stupidity.

I’m glad he’s going to burn cash on this, it’ll be less cash he can burn in other areas where he may actually do some damage. He’ll I hope he runs 24/7 on ever cable network in the land. He’ll effect no change in opinion and the money drain will be epic.
