But like I thought the FBI was highly trained and stuff and this kind of thing only happens to fat white gun owners???

  2. avatar DickDanger says:

Or having to sell a gun you really like ’cause you need gas money….I miss my coach gun.

    1. avatar Fed Up says:

At least if you’re FBI traveling on duty your employer provides the car and gas.
But if you’re stuck in a hotel in the middle of nowhere, why not sell that duty rifle if it’ll buy you a prostitute for the night? The taxpayers can always buy you another one.

      1. avatar Ken says:

No, they get prostitutes free courtesy of the drug cartels, remember? They probably sell the issue firearms for booze and cigarettes…

  3. avatar Shire-man says:

So much silly in the article. Apparent shock and amazement that locks could be broken. The description of the “custom-designed” rifle. The great success of getting the serial number into NCIC in a timely manner because criminals always check with NCIC of course.
The agents vehicle was clearly targeted. The effort involved goes beyond simply smashing and grabbing a GPS or stereo.
I wonder if the federale was mouthing off in local establishment or trying to use his job to hit on somebodies lady. Given how the ATF, DEA and FBI agents seem to have an affinity for whores, thieves and mouthing off nobody should be surprised.

When, eventually, the debate heats-up about safe-storage (again) we need to have prepared a catalogue of such theft incidents. If the FBI (and other Federal or State LEOs) can’t secure guns against theft how are citizens supposed to achieve that accomplishment. If there ARE guns in a society there will be stolen guns in that society.

If anything is to be learned from such events it is that a gun is safer when carried by its owner than it is left in a vehicle parked in a public place. This observation argues against gun-free zones where visitors are obliged to either leave their homes un-armed; or, leave their guns in their cars when an errand requires them to enter a gun-free zone.

A burglar looking to steal a gun need only loiter in the parking lot of a gun-free zone waiting for a visitor to make tell-tail movements such as putting something in a glove-compartment or a trunk.

True for pretty much anything of value left in a car, not just firearms.

Laptops, sample cases, even just plain luggage … If you need to stop someplace before getting to your final destination, best to leave stuff in the trunk right from the beginning. Or else if you need it only for one stop of several, just resign yourself to carrying it each time you leave the car.

As a frequent traveler, I also try to avoid chain restaurants near hotels. Too easy for a potential thief to just grab a booth at the window and sip coffee while looking for behavior like rearranging luggage.

These are the “professionals” that we are told by the anti’s who are the only ones who know how to be responsible with guns. Gee you mean they are human too? Go figure.

  6. avatar Chip Bennett says:

A shattered window, a busted-out window frame, roped-together cars used to shear the handle off of a hard-sided gun case, and tires squealing enough to leave skid marks – and nobody heard anything?

P.S. any idiot knows not to leave your valuables in your car when you stay at a hotel – especially a hotel next to the airport.

    1. avatar Blake says:

But these were not just any idiot, they were FBI.

  7. avatar neiowa says:

Why would Obumer go to in SLC? Not likely he has that many friends/suckers to put together a decent fundraiser. Perhaps some thugs are breaking ground for a mosque next to the big temple? That would get him.

  8. avatar Missouri Mule says:

Why does the nice federal police officer need a rifle like that? Is she going to KILL somebody

  9. avatar Scout5050 says:

Clark Aposhian was saying that since he had a firearm stolen out of his vehicle in 2013. http://fox13now.com/2013/03/28/assault-rifle-stolen-from-gun-advocates-car/

    “True Dat”? Really?

    That is another strike.
