TTAG SHOT Show Plan of Action: The Carpet Bombing Begins! Soon . . .

TTAG’s Shot Show team – Dan, Nick, Jeremy S, Joe Grine and I (with JWT on his way) – have assembled at the Venetian Hotel. First of all, thank you. Your patronage provides the money we need to attend. We will honor that blessing by publishing the most comprehensive coverage we can muster. So, Media Day at the Range is first up. . .

Our fabulous Firearms Five will all gather in the desert to test out the latest and greatest firearms from over 50 different manufacturers. We’ll use a batch text system to call dibs on stories. Nick and Joe will leave around noon and head over to SIG SAUER and H&K private range days. We will regroup in our command bunker and start posting like crazy.

While there may be some SHOT posts during the day, expect the deluge to begin around 6pm Vegas time. Until then, we’ve got our regularly scheduled farrago of firearms stories queued-up for your dining and dancing pleasure. In the three days following, we will carpet bomb the site with SHOT Show posts.

If you can’t wait – and why should you? – our Facebook page is the place to be. We’ll be posting material from Media Day at the Range as we see it, as it happens, as we try to avoid being lasered by our colleagues (an annual rite of passage).

Again, thank you for reading The Truth About Guns. As we approach our fifth anniversary, rest assured that we remain slaves to the brand. We will continue to tell the truth about guns for our readers. That is all.

Looking forward to the myriad of posts. If you get a chance, check out Texas Custom Guns. The shop is local to me, and seems like a solid choice for custom AR pattern rifles. I’m curious to see what the TTAG team thinks of their stuff.

  2. avatar Tom in Oregon says:

Eagerly awaiting things like the new Glock 10mm.
Maybe Joe can dazzle us with his excellent photography of some nice custom rifles?

someone has a serious chewing issue on their cigar . . . . I smoke them often they should not look like that!

BTW – what’s smoking good there? and did Shannon get an invite to the show to “protest” (hoping for some bikini pics)

Eh, dirk. Dont spoil my dinner with that image….;)

Don’t forget the booth babes. And pix.
For the specs, uh, I mean specifics of the guns, I mean weapons.

  4. avatar Bob Wall says:

The Venetian? What, no vacancy at the Motel 6 in Henderson?

Bwah, hah, hah-hah-hahhh!!! Have a great time guys!

    Enjoy guys!
If you get a chance, please stop by the James River Armory table at the range. Some first hand shooting of their custom M14/M1A rifles would make an excellent post.

Have fun! Don’t forget the gun babes.
    Seriously. Do not.

  11. avatar jwm says:

Don’t forget appropriate clothing. No more close calls with hypothermia.

    1. avatar Jeff says:

What’s that? 5.11 pants and chronically undersized silk 3-gun shirts hugging a spare tire?

      1. avatar jwm says:

I believe it was last shot show. One of our intrepid band of bloggers got a close brush with hypothermia because of the high desert winter weather. If memory serves the medics had to blanket wrap him and monitor him for a while.

    2. avatar Geoff PR says:

      Wool kilt.

  12. avatar Former Water Walker says:

Get some guns and gal pics…

  13. avatar Brandon says:

More info, and video, on the SilencerCo Omega please!

  14. avatar Gov. William J. Le Petomane says:

I’d be pissed if someone laid 3 big turds in my ashtray.
