You can’t say TTAG’s readers don’t know a good thing when they see it. Hence this year’s choice for best new optic of 2014. The result of the vote was a decisive win for Aimpoint’s impressive Micro T-2. That’s Kristi Drawe, above, Aimpoint’s Director of Marketing showing off the object of your appreciation.

  1. I’m curious about what the reaction of the people is when you present them these awards? Are they all aware of TTAG? I ask, because TTAG is fairly new when compared to say old line magazines like Guns & Ammo, or American Rifleman. At least all the folks are smiling as they hold these up, so I suppose that’s a good thing. And please excuse my ignorance of the current pecking order of the various firearms media outlets.

    • They’re universally pleased to get the awards, especially when they find out that the winners are chosen by the readers. About 3/4 of the recipients are familiar with TTAG. Kristi wasn’t, but was surprised to hear that we get 2.1 million unique readers a month.

    • Since released six months ago, Best of 2014 would make some sense, no?

I’m guessing you didn’t vote for this item in the reader poll.

    • Kind of my thoughts too. OMG! Flip open covers!! Such a revolutionary idea. And I’m an aimpoint fan boy with one on three rifles. smh

  2. For you guys with money to blow, more power to you.
I am more than happy with my HI-Lux micro. At a third of the price..
