Facebook Deletes Hunting Images from Kendall Jones’ Page But Leaves ‘Kill Kendall Jones’ Page Online

Screen Shot 2014-07-09 at 11.30.54 AM
You may have heard about the controversy surrounding teenage cheerleader Kendall Jones’ Facebook page. Ms. Jones likes to hunt exotic animals. When she published pictures of herself posing with her kills on Facebook, animal rights activists went batshit crazy (not to coin a phrase). Responding to the firearms-related furor, Facebook pulled some of her photos. The Zuckerbergians told mashable.com they did so because they reckoned the pics broke the rule against “graphic images shared for sadistic effect or to celebrate or glorify violence,” as outlined in Facebook Community Standards.  Yes, well, what about the Facebook page Kill Kendall Jones, which contains the exact same images Facebook deleted? Enquiring minds want to know. [h/t MC and Twitchy] UPDATE: Facebook has finally removed the original Kill Kendall Jones page. Another one has popped up here.

    1. avatar Daniel Silverman says:

I have reached out to internal Facebook contacts regarding the page and images there in.
I will see what they say.

      1. avatar ValleyForge77 says:

Thanks, Daniel. I reported it as well and got denied like the others. I just don’t see how a page advocating the murder of a 19 year old girl is acceptable content. What happens if one of these psycho militant liberals decided to act on it?
I would hope her parents get involved in this as well. If this were my girl, I’d be bouncing off the walls. As it is, I’m pissed.

        1. avatar ProfBathrobe says:

My report was rejected as well. I wonder if this is a result of a company-wide vendetta, a particular anti-gun staff member with something stuck in their craw, or just crazy random happenstance (which should not be ruled out).

In any case the evidence seems to point to this being an example of deliberate political support from Facebook, in which case they will probably face no small amount of backlash if this aspect of the story gains steam.

      2. avatar jon says:

I would like to get in contact with Facebook about this, but apparently they don’t have a way for non-members contact them. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!What a joke those people are.

Honestly, I’m not surprised by FaceBook. I once flagged a comment that was BLATANTLY racist (oh, believe me, there was nothing subtle about it) and the response I got was that they reviewed it and chose not to remove or act on it.

If anyone has an email address that I can use to contact them, please post it here.

    2. avatar Daniel Silverman says:

      Page has been removed…

      1. avatar Jim Jones says:

The worst part is that they left her photo of Teddy Roosevelt standing over his dead Rhino. Sexist much? If you check other males hunters’ pages, their harvest photos are all still up. What a bunch of weak-spined Californians.

        1. avatar Daniel Silverman says:

The whole page has been removed, as in gone history bye bye…

        2. avatar Jim Jones says:

No. I’m looking at her page. The photos of harvests are gone, but that’s it.

    3. avatar Tim says:

      Page has been taken down.

  2. avatar Jack says:

    People still use Facebook?

    1. avatar Sammy says:

      ^^^^^

I haven’t face booked in years. I see it kind of like smoking. I know no good will come from, so I don’t use it.

    2. avatar ValleyForge77 says:

Uh oh. You may draw the wrath of Mr Paul T McCain. Last time I made such a similar utterance I was labeled a ‘luddite’. (Which is quite humorous, being an ‘IT professional’, let’s just say)

      1. avatar The Brotherhood of Steel says:

Yes sir, and before the anti Luddite tirade begins, I will be the first to argue that there is nothing wrong with being a Luddite. I am highly suspicious of any sentient robot activity for a reason…. the brotherhood would does take kindly to an army of robotic intelligence for a reason…. Many will be laying at the feet of some enclave killer bot while I continue to primitively bash any robot I see with a worn lead pipe.

      1. avatar Shire-man says:

Not even. It’s 60% advertisers and 40% grandparents keeping in touch with their grade school grandkids.

Facebook is in the same place cable TV and land-line phones are. Only businesses working on un-adaptable models and children and geriatrics who don’t know any better still make use of it.

        1. avatar jon says:

LOL. Thanks for the joke, Mr. Exaggeration! I remember just half a year ago when I was still using it, all of my friends, in their 20s and 30s, were too, so we all know that’s false.

Now I only use LinkedIn, and if I need to contact someone I can just send them a private message, or get in contact through email or phone. Your lie about only old people using it is just your over-playful imagination and what you want it to be – not liking it will still not change it’s current popularity.

    4. avatar Taylor TX says:

So because I know (assume) I am one of the younger folk on here, yes all the young whippersnappers are still using facebook, along with every business, bar, gun company, etc…

I dont use it either 🙂 but my wife shows me a picture of something on facebook at LEAST once per day.

    5. avatar Daniel Sebastian says:

My young son opened a facebook account (under our supervision), had it for a month or so and promptly deactivated it. His remarks: “What’s the point”?

  3. avatar Greg says:

I closed my Facebook account. What good is a social site if the only social sharing you can do has to meet their approval?
I encourage everyone to do the same.

    1. avatar Indiana Tom says:

Agree. Facebook is the online version of 1984, complete with Thought Police.

  4. avatar Mark N. says:

So now hunting is glorifying sadistic violence. I get it. Glad I have never had a Facebook account.

  5. avatar Mack Bolan says:

        So was the Soviet Union.

      2. avatar jon says:

Also the one about “Kill George Zimmerman?” Are all of FB’s experiments based on killing someone?? Gee, are they just full of great moral values!

    2. avatar JaxD says:

John Crudele, from the NY Post has been trying for years to get FB to take down the “Equal rights for Pedophiles” page. As I understand it, it’s still up. No problem with pederasts, but hunting….

  7. avatar former water walker says:

I only joined fakebook because my wife and kids made me ( lol). That and my other kids, grandkids & friends use it. My wife has a very successful diy/decorative blog but it seems she gets way more traffic on Facebook. It’s just EASIER to make $ there. We need to BOMBARD zuck & get this out to the mainstream a##holes. This is unacceptable.

    1. avatar Jus Bill says:

Like Zuk would even care. He’ll buy your entire town just to evict you.

    2. avatar neiowa says:

You allow the image of and name/information of your minor children to be placed/archived such a site??? Not smart.

      1. avatar Meridia says:

You assume the children are minors when he mentioned grandchildren.

      2. avatar Former Water Walker says:

Yep you sure ASSume a lot . My grandchildren are 8,6 & 3. My 4 sons are all grownup. One is nearly 40. The NsA, FBI, Homeland security hell every body knows everything about you anyway…and my grandkids don’t have Facebook accounts.

    3. avatar Michael B. says:

Be a man and make your own decision. If you don’t want to be on Facebook, delete it and simply tell your wife you don’t want to be on it.

Judging by your “(lol)” after you wrote that they made you get on there, deep down you know what to do.

  8. avatar Mark N. says:

According to Mashable: “We remove reported content that promotes poaching of endangered species, the sale of animals for organized fight or content that includes extreme acts of animal abuse,” a Facebook spokesperson told Mashable. The inference is that Kendall is a poacher or has “engaged in extreme acts of animal cruelty.” Sounds to me like defamation of character. Her daddy’s rich (obviously–any guess on how much that safari cost him?), and (I bet) her mamma’s good looking–maybe someone should sue.

Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 of the Constitution could have done with a bit of expansion/clarification.

TITLES was not the real problem. It was the application by despicable men/women that is the problem.

      2. avatar Taylor TX says:

HA! I was JUST explaining Indentured Servitude to someone yesterday…

    2. avatar jon says:

Maybe that should be brought to the attention of those anti-gun/hunting groups on FB, might shut them up – or make them throw another one of their tantrums.

    3. avatar rlc2 says:

Thanks, was wondering if anyone would catch that bit of FakeBook hypocrisy…

Frankly, I approve of FakeBook manipulating the low-info voters, and MDA mommies. That and google are really just a more sophisticated version of Pravda and Isvestia, and we know how that worked out…

It just means the bottom will hit harder for them, and when the waaaahhhmbulance wont show up, as expected,
then Darwins Law will separate the winners from losers.

  10. avatar Harvard F Miller II says:

I reported the page to Facebook. They said the page does not violate community standards. SMH!

    1. avatar ValleyForge77 says:

You have absolutely got to be kidding me! We can’t let this stand. We have to CREAM Facebook on this somehow!!! KILL KENDALL JONES is ACCEPTABLE to FACEBOOK???? I’m effing PISSED! Someone get this on TV or something. I want this page down and I want lots of BAD PRESS for FB allowing this to stay up! That is a terroristic threat!

      1. avatar Mack Bolan says:

Put up a Kill Mark Zuckerberg page and I bet it will be down in less than an hour.

        1. avatar jon says:

Hey maybe you can create a group called “Kill Mark Zuckerberg” and put in the description/about section: Brought to you by the same group that brought you “Kill Kendal Jones.”

          That might get their attention.

        2. avatar The Brotherhood of Steel says:

What about “Forcefully Sodomize Mark Zuckerburg”

      2. avatar Scrubula says:

In the last article about her page, 5 or so of us reported the hate/kill pages and all got denied requests. Not to mention the many others here who did so and didn’t comment about it… Facebook knows about the hate pages, so when they say they didn’t know they existed, it’s bullshit.

        1. avatar jon says:

Can we get screenshots posted on TTAG? It would be good if we have irrefutable proof from FB.

    2. avatar Pascal says:

if you flag a specific post or picture, they will flag and delete it. I was able to get one through
It must be a specific comment or post.

    3. avatar jon says:

Of course not. Maybe it should be brought to the attention of a news network like CNN, ABC, or NBC that facebook has no problem removing pages about guns or hunting, but approves of groups like “Kill George Zimmerman” and “Kill Kendall Jones” that advocate killing humans.

  11. avatar Blah says:

  16. avatar MiniMe says:

“I say we take off and nuke Facebook from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.”

    😉

  17. avatar SC Jeff says:

I reported the Hate Kendall Jones page. Facebook said it didn’t violate their hate speech rules because it didn’t target her race, gender, or religious or sexual preference. I guess hate speech is alright to them if it is Liberal P.C. Hate speech.

    1. avatar jon says:

Well it shouldn’t be reported as a “hate” group, it should be reported as either harassment/bullying or advocating violence.

  18. avatar Another Robert says:

So the pics are offensive on Kendall’s personal page, but are fine on the “Kill Kendall” page. Liberals really are that stupid, aren’t they?

    1. avatar Jus Bill says:

      Yes they are. Next question…

    2. avatar neiowa says:

Breaking news from the Department of Redundant Redundancy

    3. avatar lizzrd says:

Do you not understand the difference between showing pictures for sadistic reasons and showing the same pictures to expose the sadism?

      1. avatar Another Robert says:

If I’m not mistaken, you’re serious, aren’t you? You know, there is such a thing as “we can’t show the pictures because they are too disturbing” or some such. And BTW, “sadism” is not dispatching animals with a clean shot. If you can say that “sadism” is practiced against animals at all, it would more likely be from the kind of deadfall traps and such the much-celebrated (by leftist goo-goos) natives employ when they hunt–and poach.

  19. avatar Ing says:

    Kill Facebook.

    1. avatar The Brotherhood of Steel says:

  20. avatar Peter says:

Read an interesting comment on this earlier today… the people making all the fuss about this were pretty damn silent when Kermit Gosnell was killing babies or Emily Letts was filming and posting her abortion.

  21. avatar Roll says:

These antis arent very smart…they want to threaten to kill a girl that hunts (at her leisure) dangerous animals that can potentially kill you.

    Good luck.

    1. avatar Old Ben turning in grave says:

Mad props for The Big Lebowski quote.

  22. avatar Tom S. says:

    I think I’m in love.

  23. avatar Daniel Silverman says:

You should be able to report the image as other.
In this instance the picture should be removed as a violation of their community standards for gore etc.
In that instance they will have no pictures to show.
Also if this happens enough it locks the page as well.
You can also report the page as a threat to someone else. They do not state anywhere in their page that it is not ok to kill Kendall Jones, and that they do not condone violence against the individual being portrayed on the page.

  24. avatar Eric says:

I reported the page to Facebook. Let’s see when/if they take it down.

    1. avatar Eric says:

Wow, Facebook replied to me today that they had reviewed my report and taken the page down. I’m actually kind of impressed. Well, a little. I wonder how many people here use this site as a Facebook alternative:

      https://www.teapartycommunity.com/

      1. avatar Wendy says:

Good. I’m glad they replied to you that they took the page down. They probably got enough complaints about it…

      2. avatar BDub says:

That’s like asking how many people here use the clean side of the toilet paper.

  25. avatar Tom in Oregon says:

And the heli hog hunt pages show machine gunning hogs from a helicopter.
    Hmmm

  26. avatar Jay1987 says:

I remember doin a fb page for the shop I own a few months ago. they let us run personal for a lil bit then outta the blue changed us to small bizz. once they did we couldn’t communicate like we usedto and we never could post pics of guns, builds, or training vids. in the end we went back to just a twitter.

  27. avatar Bob Wall says:

Looks like it’s possible to ‘jack that page with pro KJ/Hunting commentary. Unlike “Dwarves Against Illegal Everyday Moms for Gun Sense,” I haven’t seen any “anti-Kill Kendall Jones” posts being immediately deleted.

Of course, you’d have to be some kind of Luddite to participate.

  28. avatar Ralph says:

So “poaching” of endangered species is antifacebookian but poaching of a human being is okay?

Thanks for letting me know, fakebook.

  29. avatar John S. says:

So facebook is slowing becoming another tool of the MSM, where pro gun, pro hunting content is silently deleted while hate-filled , vile anti gun trash is touted and promoted. Disgusting.

    1. avatar Jus Bill says:

What slowly? Where have you been napping?

  30. avatar ValleyForge77 says:

Well I guess it’s no wonder that most of the psycho spree-killers are liberals, huh? And they say we’re the nuts. Yyyeahhh.

  31. avatar brad wolfskill says:

This hole thing is completely stupid there are so many hunting and fishing pages on FB that post pictures or animals/fish that have been killed/taken legally, but they all or sudden go after someone that someone woman that does the samething all because she is a professional cheerleader, really??? How childish go after someone that is killing or poaching animals that are supposed to be protected or ar not in a designated season…. btw im an avid hunter and fisherman so you maybe FB should ban me or remove my pics as well….

  32. avatar CountryBoy94 says:

The fact that they took down pics of her and her kills to please a few is an outrage. This thing is blown so out of proportion by animal rights activists when they don’t even know the process of getting permission of hunting in Africa. And instead of the people at Facebook worrying about graphic images of her with her trophy kills and start worrying about all the people (and i am quoting a person on this one) “throw her out in the savanna without her hunting equipment and let Mother Nature get her revenge”

  33. avatar Paco says:

Does facebooks political bias surprise anyone? Facebook will remove anything g resembling criticism of Israeli policies, yet allow overtly racist anti Arab pages,

    1. avatar Ralph says:

Okay, so facebook does some things right. But that’s no excuse for not banning the Kill Kendall Jones pages.

  34. avatar Mike says:

If it were anyone else they would have been busted by the NSA. It has to be Some Libtard in power. This site has had 100,000’s of complaints already if you read it. It is obvious in violation. And police agency’s are saying it violates no Rules. Bullshit. There has been many an arrest oer this same thing already.

    1. avatar Ralph says:

      Facebook is the NSA’s b1tch.

    2. avatar Jus Bill says:

Zuk runs the payroll. Follow the money.

  35. avatar Tom in Oregon says:

And the rhino she ‘got’ was darted at the request of the gov. It was then treated by a vet, tagged, and woke up.

They protested that she shot a cheetah, which are endangered. Yet it was clearly a leopard, which are like coyotes down there and NOT on any list.

They haven’t taken down any of my hunting/fishing pics.

  36. avatar Kyle says:

If she is hunting animals unnecessarily solely for pleasure, than I think what this woman does is despicable, but either way, this is very unfair treatment on the part of Facebook if they are indeed doing this.

  37. avatar courtany says:

If kill Kendal Jones is ok to publish we should have a kill Zach zuckerburg or whatever his name is. Bet if it was him being threatened it would b removed. Facebook note a days is run to bE political not social. It warps the Mind like a sick drug and turns you into a puppet.

  38. avatar Paco says:

@ralph, your double standard is an eye opener.

  39. avatar Phil says:

Surprise, double-standard! Get off Facebook, it is nothing but a time-drain. And everything you do or say will follow you forever now. If nothing, take money out of their pocket by removing yourself from their marketing base. Money talks and somehow we all survived before Facebook and Twitter and whatever else you young punk kids are looking at these days.

    I’m 31.

  40. avatar Fred says:

Facebook will always bend to liberals because they know liberals spend all their time on Facebook. They’re simply following the money. Why would they care about people that go to work and have other responsibilities that keep then away from Facebook?

  41. avatar Glen says:

Just got an email from facebook that they removed the “kill kendall” page

    1. I complained to “Fakebook” about that page and got that same email this morning. Looks like a bunch of us woke the Fakebook libtards up.

    2. avatar Leo Atrox says:

I reported the page too. At least it removes some of the appearance of a double-standard in this case. Although I’m not really sure if this is due to the fact that Facebook doesn’t actively monitor the content on their site (potential liability issues if this is the case) or if they bend to any high volume of complaints if the page simply approaches a breach in their terms of service.

      1. avatar Alpo says:

Glad it’s gone. Seems like enough of us reported it that they finally caved. I got this message last night:

We reviewed the Page you reported for containing credible threat of violence. Since it violated our Community Standards, we removed it. Thanks for your report. We let Kill Kendall Jones know that their Page has been removed, but not who reported it.

  42. avatar William Uhlemann says:

The animal rights ideology is very dangerous. These people believe that animal life is just as valuable as human life. Animals have value, not rights. There is a big difference. Beings that have value are treated according to there characteristics and where they fit into our culture. Because we have different ways of valuing, each animal has a different value. For instance, I value human life, but valuing human life does not mean to create as much human life as possible, rather it means we want each others life to go well. Beings with rights by contrast are more free to pursue their interests because they can reason and have more agency. A being with value may be legal or illegal to kill depending upon how it is valued. You will hear these animal rights idiots say that killing an animal is like killing a baby (because neither can reason). It is not, because the value of a baby is not the same as the value of a wild animal. Children gain their rights when they get older and have more agency while the mentally handicapped never seem to go above child status when it comes to pursuing interest. The reason it is illegal to harm them is not because they can suffer but because they have value. The role suffering plays in morality is that people who do an activity for fun who may cause suffering are only immoral if they enjoy the activity BECAUSE it causes suffering. The difference between the moral and the immoral is that the immoral enjoys the fact that hunting hurts while the moral does not try to maximize suffering nor is suffering the source of their joy in hunting or fishing. I’m glad to see women getting into sports that were traditionally masculine. KEEP ON HUNTING KENDALL JONES and don’t let these idiots scare you away from it!

  43. avatar ragnar_d says:

Bookface pulled the “Kill Kendall Jones” page:

    1. avatar Leo Atrox says:

I reported it too, as a “credible threat of violence.” I’m not sure if there actually is a “credible” threat of violence, but an implied threat certainly exists. I wanted to report it as “hate speech,” but there was no subcategory that fit the situation.

The “kill” page is gone. The “hate” page is still there. Though I would hope FB will kill posts or photos on a case-by-case basis. At least that was what their “advice” indicated to do in their response email.
