RKBA Win: LeBron James Shoots a Machine Gun

“[LeBron] James and his wife Savannah went for a little his & hers target practice at Lock & Load Miami on New Year’s Eve, where they sprayed bullets from multiple guns, including a M-249 SAW (that’s the one [not] featured in the video),” tmz.com reports. This is a good thing; any time a celebrity picks up a gun and has fun an anti cries a little. “LeBron was assigned a specialist to help him on the range — and the guy is a legit badass … an ex-police officer who’s currently a military reservist. Mr. and Mrs. James spent roughly two hours firing weapons … and we’re told they were very cool to fans, signing autographs and taking pictures.” And just in case you were wondering, tmz wants you to know that “No one was harmed in the making of this post.”

When LeBron hits the perp he wants nothin’ (left) but net.

  2. avatar John L. says:

    And I should care because…?

    1. avatar William Burke says:

Neither should you feel obligated to care, nor should you feel obligated to broadcast the fact of your not caring.

This is true: last week LeBron got carded – CARDED! – at a hotel bar! Can you beat that? He looked old enough to drink when he was in high school!

      1. avatar John L. says:

        I didn’t say I didn’t care.

        I asked why I should.

        1. avatar Ralph says:

Why should you ask why you should care?

And why should we tell you why you should care?

        2. avatar jwm says:

The bigger question here is should we care whether or not you care?

        3. avatar I_Like_Pie says:

I don’t care if we should care that you care….so there

        4. avatar MOG says:

          Who’s on first?

        5. avatar Mike H in WA says:

Because a pro-athlete is very publicly using a firearm in a responsible way. And because really, the type of folks who actually really care about what TMZ reports tends to be low information voters… the kind that vote away our gun rights. Here they’re being exposed to firearms in a positive way.

That’s chock full of win all around.

  3. avatar William Burke says:

I failed to see any bullets being “sprayed”; evidently, they believe that more than one bullet can come out of the muzzle at a time….

  4. avatar Michael B. says:

    Nice form!

    1. avatar RightYouAreKen says:

That was my thought too. No flying chicken wing elbow.

  5. avatar El Mac says:

Who is Lebron James and why do I give a phuck?

    1. avatar lolinski says:

      A good basketball player

      http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LeBron_James

This is good news. I dont know anyone who didn’t like shooting full auto. This can only help our image.

      1. avatar Mecha75 says:

Even Pierced Organ of the Commie News Network liked shooting full auto. But then went on to say that because he enjoyed it so much, real americans shouldn’t also enjoy it.

    2. avatar Ralph says:

Lebron wants to know why he should give a fvck about whether or not you give a fvck.

    3. avatar S.CROCK says:

i really hope that was sarcasm!

you should care because the more celebrities that show guns are fun and can be used responsibly the better.

      1. avatar El Mac says:

I could care less about celebrities doing anything.

        1. avatar lolinski says:

Yes, but many people do care about celebrities thus many people are exposed to firearms in a good way.

        2. avatar El Mac says:

Oh, well…that settles it then for me. I really DON’T give a phuck.

        3. avatar lolinski says:

No, since “phuck” isn’t a proper word.

You might mean that you dont give a fvck or a f***, maybe a puck but I fail to see its relevancy.

PS: dont get angry, I got nothing against you. I just try to be funny.

        4. avatar El Mac says:

          No worries mate! 🙂

  6. avatar colby says:

    Cute!

  7. avatar the ruester says:

When his range time was almost up, he got nervous and had to pass it off to Ray Allen.

    1. avatar Ralph says:

      Now that’s funny.

    2. avatar jirdesteva says:

Thankfully I’m out of coffee. 🙂

  8. avatar MojoRonin says:

The reason you care is that it is positive PR for the POTG. They had a good time and that makes them a literal comrade in arms.

    1. avatar Max says:

      My thoughts as well.

    2. avatar jirdesteva says:

Need more like this out in the media to battle the Shannon Twatts of the world.

  9. avatar Javier says:

Well, this should give his low post game that extra edge.

  10. What? No Safety Suzy has yet to scream bloody murder over the fact that somebody obviously was handholding a smartphone in front of the firing line to get this quick video?

    1. avatar twency says:

Not ’till you did, you mean?

    2. avatar Michael B. says:

I was kind of hoping it was you holding the phone.

But now that I know it wasn’t, I AM OUTRAGED!

      1. Mike B. I know you love me.

  11. avatar Samuel Leoon Suggs says:

Can we have and RKBA win of the day? Or RKBAWOD maybe RKBA WOD?

    1. avatar Samuel Leoon Suggs says:

I think the separate WOD might get you some cross traffic from cross fitters, eh, eh, whaddayathink?

  12. avatar Some Guy says:

FYI this article is forcing a download from kultura.Com on my Android phone.

    1. avatar tom w a glock says:

likewise on my Nook. And whatever just downloaded, I cannot locate. Makes me nervous – got a malware infection on the site? Listed as 60285.

    2. avatar Jeff says:

same here, tries to load it every time I refresh – even with adblock installed and running Firefox mobile.

      1. avatar MOG says:

That is the Hawaiian branch of the NSA.

  13. avatar Danny says:

I’ve been to this place. Just opened less than a year ago. Sits a mile north of the Downtown Miami Proper right of North Miami Avenue. Place is super expensive because they make you use frangible ammunition, probably because the range has you aiming out to the street. They charge you by the box so you need to bring a ton of cash to avoid only having 10 seconds of fun for $60.

    1. avatar Ralph says:

you need to bring a ton of cash to avoid only having 10 seconds of fun for $60.

I read about a place like that in a book called “The Happy Hooker.”

  14. avatar PhoenixNFA says:

    Much better title.

    1. avatar Robert Farago says:

      We please to aim.

  15. avatar jimmyjames says:

Cool that they did it, lame that was the video that came out of it. Went to an indoor range with full auto rentals one time. Whole thing was free thru a buddy of mine. Range owner’s shorty M4 was full auto. We were taking turns firing bursts out of it like Lebron in the video. Owner came on the range and grabbed the gun, jammed a 20rnd mag in and clamped down on the trigger for a 20rnd burst and said something to the effect of “that’s how you do it son.”

  16. avatar Ing says:

Somehow the fact that a super-rich guy can afford to rent some time with a full-auto rifle at an expensive urban firing range doesn’t feel like a win to me.

On the other hand it is fairly pleasant, picturing various smarmy prohibitionists squirming with discomfort caused by LeBron-and-wife’s ballistic fun. Oh, dear. What if the proles start thinking guns are…gasp…okay?

  17. avatar MOG says:

Vid don’t play no way. I don’t know who the guy is either. Just was gonna watch the firing action.

    1. avatar S.CROCK says:

i can’t tell if you are joking about not knowing who he is.

      1. avatar El Mac says:

Well, again, who is he and why does it matter?

  18. avatar jwm says:

The last time I went to a full auto rental range, in Utah, I chose a .40 cal Glock with a suppressor. Indoor range was rated to fire .50 bmg in. People were cranking out a variety of full autos. Even had one of those ginourmous and clumsy looking full auto AA12 shotguns.

As soon as they saw me with that suppressed Glock they stopped and gathered around to watch. People are weird. They always want what they ain’t got.

  19. avatar Bob says:

Did anyone see the video? Gun range: irresponsible gun owner of the day. Allowing videoing from the front of a fully automatic weapon being fired by a professional…basketball player…WTF? You’ll poke your eye out! and kudos for taking him to the range. NBA is very left sided. I love liberals crying. Plus, an actual legal place to shoot guns albeit irresponsibly nonetheless is still positive.

  20. avatar Jon R. says:

If Labron showed up at Knob Creek and shot machine guns while sporting an NRA hat I might actually like the dude… hell, I’d become his biggest fan. Until then, I don’t. Go Trail Blazers!

  21. avatar RAJ says:

I hope that this is the last time that TMZ video is featured on this website (short of extenuating circumstances).

  22. avatar Semper Why says:

“and the guy is a legit badass … an ex-police officer who’s currently a military reservist”

These people have a low standard for “legit badass”.
