Reply jwm says: September 7, 2013 at 10:28 The .88 magnum was not enough for walter. So he got busy in his garage and made the first 1.76 revolver. It leaves a smaoking crater where the school used to be. Reply Russ Bixby says: September 7, 2013 at 14:01 Nice! Reply Rev. Maurice Pompitous says: September 7, 2013 at 10:33 The attention to detail is very impressive! Sadly, vandalism is going to be a problem for him. Reply superiorposture says: September 7, 2013 at 10:56 Depends on where in New Jersey this is. Up where I live, it’s pretty rural like this. Gun support is overwhelming compared to the anti-gunners in this county. Plus, we never lock our doors at night. Reading the article, I see this is from Lopatcong. That’s south west of here, and it is RIGHT on the border with PA. No doubt the area is for gun rights as well. He did say it was egged one night, but I highly doubt that was a political statement as much of a “this is why we can’t have nice things” statement by some bored kids. I expect it’ll get tagged by a paintball gun sometime soon. Reply Evan says: September 7, 2013 at 11:55 Don’t you mean Hopatcong? Ive never heard of Lopatcong. As for the gun support its not great but this area of NJ is the best for gun supporters, heck I hear gunfire from a private range by my house right now. …really got to get in there some day.. Reply Clay says: September 7, 2013 at 14:02 There is Lopatcong, Hopatcong, and Pohatcong. All relatively close together. Russ Bixby says: September 7, 2013 at 16:00 Those names break my think. mark_anthony_78 says: September 7, 2013 at 17:56 Lake Hopatcong (right next to the town of Netcong) is the source of the Musconetcong River which flows Lake Musconetcong and then through Allamuchy State Park… we like our Native American names around here in my neck of the woods. jwm says: September 7, 2013 at 18:49 If you ask me, you guys have too damn many Cong in your neck of the woods. superiorposture says: September 8, 2013 at 16:10 I shoot pistols on my own property. I call the police ahead of time to let them know what I’m doing in case they get complaints, but everything is perfectly legal. The only reason everyone isn’t carrying all the time around here is because of Trenton and their dumb laws. Looking forward to Scott Bach and Evan Nappen getting the carry permit suit to the Supreme Court next year. Andrew says: September 7, 2013 at 23:40 YES, WE LIKE THIS LAND VERY MUCH. WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRADE FOR THESE SHINY TRINKETS WE BRING? WOOOOOOH. Reply T-DOG says: September 7, 2013 at 11:00 Honestly, Looking back on my youth I think the last guy in the neighborhood I would have vandalized would be the guy with the BIG ASS gun in the front yard. I would have had a fear of while teepeeing his house he would have come after us with a shotgun full of rock salt. Kids have great imaginations and guns are a deterrent on many levels whether based in reality or just one mind. Reply anglosaxongamer says: September 7, 2013 at 15:52 You call it vandalism. I call it free engraving. Reply jwm says: September 7, 2013 at 23:48 Then you’ll be understanding when you get some free body piercings? Reply BillF says: September 7, 2013 at 10:47 I’d have a note on the mail door: No Junk Mail Reply MigNoche says: September 7, 2013 at 11:32 I wish I could put all my bill’s in the barrel of a revolver Reply Ralph says: September 7, 2013 at 11:39 Does it have an internal lock? Reply Conrad says: September 7, 2013 at 12:12 Didn’t we already have the weekend photo contest? Reply Bert says: September 7, 2013 at 12:27 Do you have to pull the trigger to open the door ? Reply Kyle says: September 7, 2013 at 12:51 For once, a piece of modern art that isn’t crap. Reply Cliff H says: September 7, 2013 at 13:06 For the mailman’s peace of mind, at least the hammer isn’t cocked. Reply Alex says: September 7, 2013 at 13:31 Hope that mailbox doesn’t hold more than 7 rounds? Reply Russ Bixby says: September 7, 2013 at 14:00 More like a 17 pounder mailbox. “Yeah, I’ll shoot that paperwork right over to you…” Reply Russ Bixby says: September 7, 2013 at 14:03 EDIT: Hmmm… This might raise a red flag. Reply JaredFromTampa says: September 7, 2013 at 15:21 Nice. Reply jwm says: September 7, 2013 at 18:52 A 17 pounder would more resemble a Firefly than a Smith and Wesson. Reply tdiinva says: September 8, 2013 at 19:30 Nice reference to a British Sherman. Reply jwm says: September 8, 2013 at 23:42 I was wondering if I would get a correct response or something from a Serenity fan. Nicely done. Lance says: September 7, 2013 at 14:27 What this would be the best mail box for a postal worker employee ever!!!! Reply GS650G says: September 7, 2013 at 16:06 I’m sure the state will enact a law banning this sort of thing. It’s what they do. Reply Lars says: September 7, 2013 at 17:34 Only legal or moral issue with this awesome mailbox is it’s size. Where I am we are not even allowed to have mailboxes 10 feet from the roadway as they still walk and deliver here but also my parents built a large wooden wildlife structure dedicated to Ducks Unlimited and it stood about 5′ high and 4×4′ wide/deep and the city made them remove it within a week, now it sits in their backyard modified a bit and used for plants. Any unique mailbox is also a prime target for mailbox baseball. Reply Dark says: July 18, 2014 at 01:29 Do you cock the hammer back to let the postman know you’re sending out?
