“…Then these ‘refugees’ started killing the generous Americans who supported them for years in their indolence. The young Tsarnaev even got a $2,500 scholarship from the City of Cambridge — which is why I never, ever gave a dime to the Cambridge scholarship fund when I lived there. I know you’re not supposed to paint with a broad brush, unless you’re a liberal, in which case you are not only permitted, but expected to make Adam Lanza the poster boy for 100 million law-abiding legal gun owners.” – Howie Carr in USA needs refuge from refugees [via bostonherald.com]

  1. The price we pay as a nation for opening the front door to everyone, while at the same time leaving the back door unlocked. Our immigration policies were not enforced before, as the new ones coming down the pipe will likely be ignored as well. The idea that those that are “oppressed” should be given carte blanche has bitten us on the keister not just with these guys, but the thousands of central and south americans and eastern europeans who are now gangsters on our streets. Granted-most who come into the U.S. are decent, hard working folk, but the criminal element has created a situation in this country where law-abiding citizens slowly but surely have been losing our rights. Irony in this is politicians want to give citizenship to illegals, thereby allowing those who broke the law to eventually change the law via voting and/or running for office as newly minted citizens. However anyone stating this is quickly labeled anti-immigrant or racist.

    • Assuming they are of the hard-working variety (which I’m sure you’ll agree is the vast majority) then yes they broke a law, but I’d hardly call them criminals, as I wouldn’t call someone who smoked a joint a criminal.

The point is that immigrants (like gun owners) should be treated and thought about, as individuals not as sterotypes.

Just my two cents, and no I don’t think you’re racist.

      • Uhhhhhh…. no. In fact I wouldn’t have been, even if I had been replying to your comment! The opposite, even!

This is why we are constantly on our heels with the grabbers, we don’t even trust each other two seconds long enough to catch SARCASM. Sarcasm that isn’t even aimed at us, to boot!

        • Sorry, my bad-Yours just happens to be the first comment after mine and has no marker as sarcasm.

      • P. V. your comment is only racist if it is a true statement. It only becomes racist if YOU are a conservative, with the ability to determine what is right. It’s only a racist statement if you don’t believe in kissing some liberals ash-can, all the while moaning about all the poor people that don’t have a new phone from bam-bam. If you believe the current administration is wrong, then you are a racist.

  2. its also bullsh*t that these guys get a tax free ride for like 10 years. where was the 10 yr tax free ride for millions of poor americans to help them start a family, buy a house and be productive in society?

    • When I was in college in Canada we had this Iranian kid there. He drove an Acura Integra all souped up and lived in a $2000 a month apartment (by himself!), and ate out every single F&cking day. His college was paid for, his car was paid for, his living, failing in school and lifestyle and clothes were all paid for by me and other Canadian tax payers. His name was Ehab Sherrif or some shit. His dad was a biologist and he stated that he had eleven brothers all doing the same thing all over the world. He once went all over France and Spain on Spring break. Christmas in Italy? Sure! Why not! Needless to say he hated Canada because we were all closed minded and hated him. The girls sure loved him though.

He was deported back in 2008 for fondling a lady in a university elevator. Good times.

Oh! A side note. Guess where he lives now? Yeah! Back in Iran! No way!? F*cking Stupid…

    • Duzt, do some research. Roughly 50% of the population pay no federal income tax, and the bottom 10% or so get “refunds” despite having not paid into the system.

        • Pretty much everybody with a job pays taxes. The Federal income tax is not the only tax out there, and the deliberate confusion of “pay no Federal income tax” to “pay no taxes” is insultingly stupid. Other Federal payroll taxes are charged to pretty much anyone who earns wage income, as are many state income taxes. Sales taxes exist in most states as well.

Accur81: you should educate yourself a little more about Margaret Thatcher’s idea of replacing property tax with a flat per-head tax, and how it killed her political career. Please take that idea and give it to politicians I wish out of office, thanks.

        • matthew brown, right on!!!

and anybody that offers to change things from the banking elite-contrived progressive tax system is sure to get put out to pasture.

Ill als0 add that inflation and cost of living are unconventional “taxes”, despite MSN money’s spin and utterly pathetic “rebuttal” of John Williams’ shadowstats.

    • Those guys were being run by the FBI and other U.S. intelligence agencies for at least five years. They thought they were part of a drill. Numerous witness at the race said there was a public announcement about a drill.

  3. Yeah, it’s politically Ok for liberals, especially liberals in the media and politics, to stereotype and profile people such as gun owners. I lived in San Fransicko KKKalifornia. I’ve seen what happens to an American city and state over-run with illegal aliens and legal immigrants whose allegiance is more to the place they came from rather than the country they are living in. the KKKalifornia plague is spreading.

    • Yeah Aharon and I am still stuck here in the Bay Area lol
My hair has gone grey from the stupidity..

  4. I’m just glad these guys turned out to be immigrants so we could make sweeping and largely unfounded generalizations that support our political beliefs. That’s GOP classy!

    • And the GOP wonders why first generation children of immigrants (legal or not) run to the liberal camp the first chance they get to vote. Maybe if the government didn’t swing it’s big stick around like it owned the rest of the world we wouldn’t have to worry about letting more immigrants in, less of which would be the terrorist type if the gov didn’t do what I described before.

  5. I support legal immigration. Is our current system broke? Yes. Will it get fixed? No. Dems rely on extorting the illegals and their legal family members for support and GOP relies on the cheap and unprotected labor. Win-win for all but America.

  6. It’s not O.K. for anyone to stereotype, whether stereotyping immigrants, 2A supporters, believers in social security, what have you.

It’s just expected and accepted, rather than O.K.

Russ, middle-aged PRK expatriot Kansan gun-toting engineer with an iPad who votes centrist – stereotype THAT.

      • Actually, the iPad was not my first choice as it has training wheels which are irremovable.

I was set to buy a Glaxy when an iPad fell into my lap, so fate made an iPad my paperless office.

Not that I’m dinging Apple, but I’m a tinkerer and as such prefer much about Android.

Either way, there’s some of me “in there,” as I’m a contributor to the core GNU code base.

    • Ha, you’re a good guy Russ! How’s this?

Leo, young Hispanic environmentalist gun-loving computer engineer (Microsoft engineer) whose house is filled with Apple products.

      • I’ve got you both beat. Irishmen who doesn’t drink. Isn’t a Catholic. Is from Canada but hates hockey and loves guns. Is a computer engineer who hates technology but is uncannily good at building stuff hands on (decks, cottages, siding all that stuff). Married to an Indian lady who loves her steaks raw and isn’t a doctor. Stereotype that!

  7. Two immigrants were murderous a$sh0les so all immigrants are bad? Man, I am not buying that. That kind of “thinking” is why a lot of Muslims in Boston are sh1tting their pants. The same Muslims who don’t want to give Suspect #1 an Islamic funeral because of what he did. The same Muslims who want exactly what gun people want, which is to be left the f^ck alone.

    • Thank you Ralph.

Howie complains when MSNBC paints gun owners as Lanzas, then proceeds to do exactly the same thing to immigrants.

Demagoguery and Guilt-by-Association seem to be the order of the day in the Media.

  8. Refugees are SLIGHTLY higher risk because they have less reason to feel part of their host country. After all, they aren’t here because they wanted to be in the US (notionally, at least) but because they couldn’t stay where they were.

That’s about as far as there is sense in this guy’s rant.

  9. The vast majority of immigrants who chose to become American citizens are terribly proud to be Americans, and, on the whole, are far better educated in civics than those who’ve been here for generations. “Man in the street” interviews demonstrate repeatedly that many natural born Americans are clueless about our history, about our form of government (or who happens to be running it) or about our rights as preserved by the Bill of Rights than immigrants who study and pass the citizenship test.

    • I would have to agree with you. Being from Canada and raised the way I was I found the transition to living here to be easier than getting my drivers license back in Canada. I am terribly proud to be American.
