It Should Have Been A DGU: Bodily Fluids Edition

Image: WikipediaA Belligham, WA pervert just scored 18 months in the Big House after pleading guilty to 1st Degree Burglary in what must be one of the most revolting home-invasion robberies of all time. The Bellingham Herald takes it from here:

Eric Michael Miller, 21, and two other men tied bandanas over their faces on the evening of Jan. 18 and broke into an apartment in the 900 block of High Street.

A man sleeping on the couch awoke to find two men pinning him down and beating him. Aiming handguns at him, they demanded to know where the sleeper’s roommate had gone, because he owed them money, “possibly for drugs,” according to charging documents filed in Whatcom County Superior Court. They held knives to his throat and hairline.

Throughout the assault the man lost consciousness several times. But at one point, he caught a glimpse of Miller’s face under the mask. He recognized him. Miller pistol-whipped him with a real handgun, according to the charges. Then he took out a squirt gun and sprayed the man in the face.

“Now you’re like the rest of my (expletives), covered in semen,” Miller said, according to court records.

Keep in mind that bodily fluids can be deadly weapons if they’re infected with HIV, Hep C, or many other potentially lethal viruses, bacteria or parasites. Blood-borne pathogens aside, Miller and his posse should have been thoroughly ventilated just for the sheer revulsion of it all. It should have been a DGU.

    “Pick better roommates edition.”

Don’t do stupid things with stupid people in stupid places at stupid times.

The very reason that having a roomie is impossible for me. Trust is a four letter word.

I’m not buying into the innocence of the victim here. True, he didn’t deserve to have his home invaded , but If his roomate was into drugs he’d know about it.My current roomate once bragged about smoking weed in his hometown, and that prompted me to create an understanding regarding drugs;one, nothing in our house, period. Two, I would personally kick his ass if ANY LE agency kicked in our door on account of his choice of activities.

Even if your roomate is on the level, home carry. Crooks can hit the wrong address too.

Do you have the same conversations with your room mates if they are gun owners?

      1. Are gun owners criminals? Or equated to drug dealers?

Or are you just saying everyone should interview their roommates, for good measure of responsibility, etc.? I personally am not going to make a big deal out of a roomie of mine having a gun, but I also know who I’m renting to as well, and so I would highly encourage them having their gun/s, and likely we’ll be attending the same training schools, shooting matches, etc.

This is the problem with our legal system we plead them all out. Now this guy back on the streets before we know it. No Ag Assault charges, no nothing just burglar y

DGU how? No defense occurred. ADW, certainly.

Ok, what is the point of the this article? Did I miss something?

    1. avatar Aharon says:

Fortunately, you missed being shot with a squirt gun that was filled with something besides water.

      1. avatar shawn says:

I got he squirt gun thing, but is it really a TTAG gun issues. Hell, if we are going this far, any time a guy has unprotected sex and is infected with some sort of virus, he is doing the same thing. Is the TTAG guns going to report everything this happens? I think there are other news reports worth more (like how stores are jacking up prices of ammo and firearms) than some report about this.

  7. avatar Dave says:

Eh. I don’t see a DGU here; the victim was sleeping and was woken up to being beaten, having handguns pointed at him, knives held to his throat and hair line, and being beaten into unconsciousness. Maybe I haven’t had enough training, but where was the DGU going to happen?

  8. avatar Ralph says:

How did the BG get his swimmers into the squirt gun?

Never mind. I don’t want to know.

  9. avatar Russ Bixby says:

Last I knew, that stuff’s a tidge viscous to work in a squirt gun…

  10. avatar In Memphis says:

I home carry for a reason. Of course, I dont hang out with shady people. By the time I get from my living room to my safe, Ill be like this guy or dead. I dont understand why its so weird and unnessecarry to home carry like some will have believe

Bellingham is kinda small-town, even by Washington standards, but even the police in Bellingham have DNA kits.

Apparently this information has yet to filter down to the drug-dealing types.

As a Washington resident and UW alumni, I can’t resist making the observation about Bellingham being the land bored kids stuck attending WWU, along with their drop-out brethren.

Geez, were these guys from Neptune or what? How many freakin’ hands did they have?
