Reader Elliotte in MD sends the following example of tax dollars in action (click to embiggen it) he found at “This is a picture of state senator Jamie Raskin (D-Montgomery County) playing chess on his laptop during the hearing. The hearing was split into 8 hours of testimony, 4 hours each for the pro and anti sides divided into alternating 1-hour segements. My guess is this occurred during one of the pro-gun hour-long slots.” It’s good to see the senator so actively engaged in the meaningful conversation about guns we’ve needed in this country for so long.

  1. I love that these clowns keep getting exposed like this but I’m sure this will lead to an eventual restriction that no one is allowed behind them.

    • LOL. Seriously. That is probably a very good guess at the sort of rule that would be enacted to prevent this sort of thing from happening.

I guess some people have made up their minds and wouldn’t be swayed by any testimony no matter what.

  2. It’s a shame I have to drive through MD to see friends in Philly. My VA CC class warned of the draconian MD gun laws. How I miss TX and AZ. Someday….

  3. Their minds are made up. We are just going through the charade of hearing “the voice of the people”. Quite honestly, I’m really thinking of moving to Texas.

Sorry Dave S your post wasn’t up when I started typing. But it’s like they are past pretending to give a damn about us. They want complete and total control and A2 is the only thing in their way.

  4. This is my surprised face. If these people are your representatives, you need to remember this at election time.

  5. Go home and play chess on your own time (and dime) ya jerk. How about doing what you’re paid to do, you know…what’s the word…oh yes, WORK!

  6. FIIRRRRRREEEEEDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is fired if ya didnt catch that lol

  7. The man obviously has a superior mind. He can listen to testimony, play chess, and do his income taxes, all at the same time.

  8. He has a JD from Harvard Law School. He doesn’t need to listen to little people, the serfs.

He’s got his mind made up. Don’t confuse him with facts.
