Taurus “Secures” Diamondback Firearms

According to Taurus USA President Mark Kresser, his employer has “secured” Diamondback Firearms. Kresser describes it as a joint venture. The Brazilian gunmaker’s US arm is taking over Diamondback’s sales, marketing, web presence, customer service . . . pretty much every aspect of Diamondback’s business other than making and repairing their guns. The move comes as no surprise. Back in April, Kresser told TTAG Taurus was feeling expansive. In May, they bought Heritage Manufacturing. Now Diamondback. If you want to know why look above and then click below . . .

Taurus has been on the hunt for an American AR manufacturer for quite a while. The big bull’s began negotiating its Diamondback JV months before Newtown. After Diamondback debuted their new range of D8-15 gas impingement rifles, offering “value and versatility.”

While Kresser acknowledges America’s anti-AR zeitgeist, he’s as pro-2A an exec as you’ll find at the head of any large gunmaker. His support for firearms freedom isn’t just about money, although Taurus isn’t a charity. The man believes. By thy deeds . . .

Kresser’s decision to go public today, the morning after the Illinois Senate moved their unconstitutional gun ban bill to a general vote, hours before Diane Feinstein introduces her new assault weapons ban to Congress, demonstrates Kresser’s and Taurus’ determination not to be cowed by gun control advocates.

For that they should be applauded. Now, let’s see what they do with Diamondback.

      Way to go Taurus!
I know Taurus has had issues, but given their push for better customer service, lifetime coverage, and gosh now moving some manufacturing state side I can only see this as a serious move to be one of the big players in the US gun market place.

  2. avatarmatt says:

So did Diamondback ever work out the issues with the DB9?

  3. avatarMattK1 says:

    Good to see!!
I’ve had a few Taurus handguns over the years & all have been great.

  4. avatarMike in NC says:

This was a strategic move by Taurus since Diamondback was their greatest competitor in multi-colored firearms.

Who knows? Maybe we will see some red white and blue AR’s with the Second Amendment engraved on them coming out soon!!
And of the Union Jack on the other side with “Don’t Tread On Me” below it!!

PSA made lowers with the Gadsden flag on the mag well. That would be pretty cool with “We The People” engraved maybe on the stock in its original font. I would buy it.

Me too!! Don’t know if you have seen them but Heritage Arms made the Civil War Commemerative .22LR/.22Mag revolvers last year, each one had the State Flag on one grip and CSA on the other grip with a nice little display box.
Got 3 of them for Arkansas, one for me and the other two were Christmas gifts for my girlfriend and her dad( theirs were actually consecutively serial numbered too)!!
Neat revolver and just a cool thing to own. They all get shot but well taken care of too!!’

  6. avatarPulatso says:

Good to hear. If this latest call for gun grabbing fizzles out after all, and prices return to sane levels, there could be a DB AR in my futute.

  7. avatarLance says:
