“Samrawit Mohamed, 23, was in a vehicle with two others that was stopped early Thursday morning near Main Street and Collingwood Avenue” in Whitehall, OH 10tv.com reports. “Police said that during a search of the vehicle and occupants, they discovered marijuana and Hydrocodone pills. Authorities said that they found a bag of seven doses of heroin on the ground. They said they believed Mohamed or one of the others in the car dropped the bag. An officer searched Mohammed and found an open beer in her pants along with a gun in her underwear. According to court documents, Mohamed allegedly had a Cobra .9mm handgun hidden in her underwear that was loaded with two rounds. Mohamad faces a charge of carrying a concealed weapon.” And how!

39 Responses to Criminals Adopting .9mm Handguns—For Obvious Reasons

  1. This dangerous .9mm is what the Feds should be grabbing! It keeps popping up and if this is allowed to continue, somebody is gonna get hurt. Damn things will put your eye out.

    • My 2-round over-under suits me just fine for skeet, but it’s kinda hard to maintain proper form or hit anything when I stuff too many pill bags down my pants.

    • It says “clip magazine”, as opposed to “tubular magazine”. The thing is a magazine; “clip” is an adjective. However, adjectives are sometimes used to represent the nouns with which they are most commonly used, so “clip” could work.

In this case I think we’re just drawing attention to the lack of editing, and/or knowledge of ammunition nomenclature, displayed when someone refers to projectiles a mere .9 mm in diameter. We can assume the author doesn’t actually think they’re .035″. That’s small.
      We all make mistakes. 🙂

      • I don’t think this is a just an editing mistake. This is not just ignorance of firearms. This is just plain ignorance of metric units. There was a time when metric units were obscure enough that this sort of mistake was understandable. Now that most everything is manufactured some place else, you ought to be able to pick this up by osmosis.

    • First, the .9mm thing has been an ongoing joke here for sveral months. But realize, it’s these very same people that can’t get their terminology right that have a major influence in how the non-gun owning public perceives and learns about firearms. And it is also these same people that have an influence on what kinds of definitions we get in legislation. Some of the ninnies in congress don’t know guns at all, other than that they are black in color, and scary, and need to be controlled because they are evil. So imagine a bill put before congress outlawing all ammunition .9mm and larger? I fully realize it won’t pass written that way, but when it is changed, then the Brady bunch can say that the NRA “Forced” changes that compromise the safety of the public by opening an ammo “loophole”

Keep in mind that this is pretty much the same batch of nitwits in congress that told us not to worry what was in the Obama care bill, just pass it and we’ll learn what is in it later. That is why many of us want these definitions straightened out from the beginning.

      • This is true. One does have to watch how things are worded, even if it seems like a little mistake. I just mainly didn’t want to sound like a big jerk, mocking their editing skills when I probably made a bunch of typos in my own comment. Good points, though.

      • What you are saying is very true. A liberal friend of mine just this past week posted an image showing an assortment of firearms under the heading “Legal” with “Automatic Weapons” at the bottom. One of the firearms shown was a .44 magnum revolver. I told him that since this is what his side thinks are automatic weapons, he shouldn’t be surprised that we are dug in against “reasonable” gun control.

  2. Funny, it looks like our criminals (here across the pond) have completely different approach to firepower, because I always hear about dreadful 38mm or 45mm guns…

    • Do your politicians make the same mistake when speaking about firearms (like some of ours do)? Because if they don’t know better, how in the world can they write applicable laws?

      • On top of an Infantry Fighting Vehicle maybe?

Does the 45mm come in a Bofors, or do they just do the vanilla 40mm?

Actually, what’s really funny is that these journalists are generally a bunch of Europe-worshipping lefties who are not only clueless about guns, but are also completely clueless about the metric system, though many of their ilk push its adoption here. Even if you know squat about firearms, you should understand that a .9mm anything is vanishingly small.

  3. Dunno why this was deleted, so i’ll say it again. Care to email me RF?

It may not be as small as .9mm, but I do have a Berloque pistol which fires a 2mm round.

    • This is what the gun control zealots might allow. Sounds like this guy is in the UK. He could probably go to prison for that.

  4. This is almost as bad as a local newspaper reporting that a man tried firing a 300mm Winchester Magnum rifle at code enforcement authorities. I’ve heard the 300mm Winchester Magnum kicks like a mule, but not as bad as the 338mm Winchester Magnum.

  5. I feel sorry for the cop that had to find all that crap in her underwear. Glad it wasn’t me.
Who knows what would have been crawling on your hand and arms afterwards.
