  1. What’s wrong with this picture? Before telling what I think, let me say that I applaud the efforts of this small south Georgia town to educate the children about gun safety. I wish all towns and cities in America would do the same. Time & money well spent.

In the closing seconds of the video I saw the presenter mishandle the gun (dummy gun or not) by holding it by the barrel and covering himself repeatedly. I also never consider a semiauto cleared until the magazine is first dropped and then set into slide lock, if the gun has one. I don’t believe that gun had the magazine removed while he was showing it. If it did, my mistake.

  2. Best is simple with small kids. Eddie Eagle program does it right for kids.

    Stop
    Don’t touch
    Leave the area
    Tell an adult

  3. I’ll never forget my instructor for the hunter safety class I took in my youth. After using a shotgun to help demonstrate the 4 rules, he placed the butt on his foot, both hands on top of the barrel and rested his chin on them while another instructor spoke.

  4. The opening picture looked like there were condoms to the right of the airsoft pistol. I know they were stickers showing a badge, but they looked like condoms at first glance.

  5. An empty gun is an empty gun. Period. Empty guns don’t magically blow up, or shoot people. And contrary to what some might tell you, unloaded guns have NEVER shot or killed anyone. Unchecked loaded guns have.

  6. Definitely a good effort from my home state. Those kids now know what probably 99% of adults don’t.

  7. … Guns can be found just about anywhere. …

Jeez, the only place I ever find guns is at the LGS shortly after I’ve given someone a large amount of my after-tax income.

  8. I’d rather have an innocent mishandling of a prop at a valuable education program than have these kids be subject to the tyrannical brainwashing of CA, Chicago, or NJ.

  9. Of course this safety course needs to be followed up by practical shooting skills.
Start off with a 22 LR.
By High School they should all be able to compete in USPSA events.
I would be willing to bet gun crime amongst kids would drop dramatically. And I hate to say this because it will sound bad, but if there is gun violence, at least the kids might hit their targets and thus not hit innocent bystanders. I know that sounds horrible.

    • Now why would you want to insult George that way!!!! LOL!!! George is way more intelligent than this guy!!!!! Look up his bio sometime!!!!
