What Could Possibly Go Wrong: 12 ga Compound Bow

As good as editing and special effects software is now, it’s hard to tell if this is the real deal or not. But there’s definitely a Real Men of Genius commercial in here somewhere. Sure, there are easier ways to touch off a shot shell primer, and some people will look at a contraption like this, shake their heads and ask why. Others look at it and ask why not. Which side are you on?  [h/t thegunwire.com]

I’d be more impressed if he nocked the shotty and launched it. Now that would be reeeeeeealy stoopid.

  2. avatar Lance says:

I was expecting some sort of shotshell explosive-tipped arrow contraption, set off by the force of impact.

Very lame. A highly unstable zip gun. Accident waiting to happen. The bow alone is a far more effective weapon. Guess that puts me in the “Why?” category.

  4. Aiming a bow and a shotgun are different. This seems like a good way to confuse all of the relevant sense learning (feel) for both, making the shooter worse at both.

    And talk about trigger creep…

I am a big fan of “because we can” engineering, but even I am squarely in the “why?” camp on this one.

      same here

    +1 more for: “Ugh, why?”

Definotely looks like “hold my beer and watch this” engineering.

OMG that is ridiculous! Looks like an accident waiting to happen.
