Fred Ricciutti’s a Korean War vet who got through the ordeal carrying a WWII German Luger. That ol’ Nazi heater’s still serving him well and may have saved his life last night when a burglar broke into his home in Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania through a kitchen window. And to hear the 84-year-old Fred tell the tale, it sounds like he did his share of sentry duty during his time in the service . . .
We get the story from wpxi.com:
According to police, Raymond Hills, 25, fled from the Elizabeth Township home just after 4:30 a.m. when 84-year-old Fred Ricciutti shot him with the German Luger he used in the Korean War.
“I said ‘Halt, who’s there?'” said Ricciutti. “I’m thinking, friend or foe, he shouldn’t be there that time of day.”
Hills headed for the hills after he felt Ricciutti’s 9mm of GTFO graze the back of his neck. That’s when Ricciutti dialed 5-o who tackled him a few blocks away. All’s well that ends well, nein?
