There’s Something A Little Odd About Remora’s New Pink-Lined Holsters . . .

[HTML1]

I’m the guy whose anatomical description of the Subaru Tribeca SUV’s front end forced a redesign (and ended my car review column at The San Francisco Chronicle). As someone who loves him some Remora holster, I’m not going there again. Although I suppose I just did. In any case, ShotGunShanni is VERY excited about the way cool holster’s new interior colors. How great is that?

I don’t get it. I just checked. With my XD(M) in the holster, I can see approximately .5 square inches of the inside lining. If it was colored, I’m not sure I’d be able to tell.

She didn’t specify the upgrade charge, so I checked their website, but there’s no listing for it yet.

  2. avatar Ron says:

What kind of no life person could possibly get excited by the color of the INSIDE liner of a concealment holster?
I can understand this woman’s desire to creat a buzz as it appears she sells them.
But why would anyone care what color the outside ( much less the INSIDE ) is of an item that must be concealed from view?
Every day that passes I grow more confused as to the mentality of those who inhabit the planet on which we live, and what is considered important these days.

Modern people’s values, ethics, and priorities are increasingly swimming around happily ignorant in a cesspool.

    2. avatar Charles says:

The same reason women have to wear “cute” underwear even though nobody is going to see it.

      1. Well those are just sluts wearing the cute underwear in case they get a chance to show them lol.

        1. avatar Ropingdown says:

For many things the exciting part is those brief moments when the concealed is revealed. I think, though, the metaphor of the gun and holster for that other two-piece ensemble is being over-played.

  3. avatar Casey1911 says:

Women care about a label inside if their heels. I can’t tell a $25 pair from a $1000 pair. From talking to my fiancé though, they like to know what’s inside, even if others can’t.

    1. avatar Matt in FL says:

If they’re blood red on the bottom, and she’s the type to drop several (6+) hundred dollars, they’re Christian Louboutin. Thus ends my women’s shoe knowledge.

  4. avatar Ralph says:

Why put a pink lining inside a holster the outside of which is supposed to be invisible?

Alan Bogdan is a good guy and makes a great IWB holster, but c’mon. This is cheesy.

  5. avatar LeftShooter says:

Hmmm. Conflating the vision of the pink-lined holster with what the remora fish does for a living necessitates that I (with a nod towards TTAG resident lawyer, Ralph) must “stand mute before the bench” on this one. No open exchange of ideas for me this time, sorry.

  6. avatar Aharon says:

At :39 seconds, she opens the holster to look like a vagina.

    1. avatar Robert Farago says:

Wait. What’s the object of that verb?

      1. avatar Aharon says:

Do you mean the objective of the verb or the objection of the subject or the subjection of the noun? Is it permissible to discuss grammar on the Shabbos? What does the Written Law say about it?

    2. avatar Tim Tritt says:

That holster is more than I could handle… just keeping it real.

    3. avatar Michael says:

I wasn’t going to say anything…. . so I’m glad someone else did.

  7. avatar Randomhero says:

anyone else notice the remoras are “pink on the inside”

HA! you see what i did there?

  8. avatar Tim says:

When she showed the pink lining, I immediately thought there is no way I’d buy one used.

    1. avatar Tom says:

It could be difficult to get the gun out probably because a “pistol” already went off in it.

  9. avatar Texas Deputy says:

The pair of Remora Tuckables that I ordered arrived yesterday. They just had the bland black linings, just like my standard Remora holsters.

I was going to type a review of the new tuckables this weekend, but after seeing that pink lining (and I thought the same thing as Aharon), this may be too hard of an act to follow.

I might not want the camo interior; I might lose the holster in my pants!

As far as the purple lining, now I know for sure what happened to Barney!

    1. avatar LeftShooter says:

Barney? Nooooo! Say it ain’t so, TXDep!

  10. avatar Goldenboy says:

Did she say she wants to put a black Glock inside her pink holster?

  11. avatar Rydak says:

FLAME DELETED Seriously, just cause a woman wants to have a bit of flavor/color/style/whatever does’nt warrant this kinda negative feedback. Women go for that kinda thing. Its all good.

    1. avatar Matt in FL says:

Aw, c’mon. The censor bar was set a little high here. As off-color as the rest of the comments in here are, I’m pretty sure I/we can handle being called a tool. I defend Rydak’s right to call me one!

  12. avatar Shawn says:

The pink one is great… Except for that one week every month, and don’t let it see you with another holster.

  13. avatar Adam says:

    Shawn wins…best comment

  14. avatar Mark says:

Just remember safety! as with any pink holster pull out before shooting your load.

  15. avatar Greg in Allston says:

Your Freudian slip is showing. Sometimes a holster is just a holster.

I’m married. I’m pretty sure using this product will constitute infedility and I can’t afford a divorce.

  17. avatar KYgunner says:

Is extra lubrication necessary? It looks like a pretty tight fit…

  18. avatar Matt in FL says:

This post is full of win. I’m not sure what’s funnier: the comments, or the fact that I know there are some regulars looking down their nose and scoffing at the “inappropriateness.” To them I say, “Lighten up! Zimmerman/Martin has made it much heavier than usual around here this week, and we’re just blowing off steam.”

RF might want to add a disclaimer to the OP though, like, “Warning: “inapproprate” behavior below, read at your own risk.”

I carry my LC9 in a De Santis Nemisis pocket holster, unfortunately it doesn’t look like a ……..

BTW: Having a really difficult time finding a way to carry the extra LC9 magazine…which is a must have…last night it fell out of my belt and landed on the floor of the bar/ Good thing every drung was wong.

Any ideas on the mag holster???

    1. avatar Patrick Carrube says:

The Remora tuckable mag/light holders are supposed to be dandy…

    2. avatar Texas Deputy says:

      Joseph:

There is a Remora #4P holster (choose you lining color carefully ! ) for the LC9 that also has a mag pouch. That is one of the Remora’s that I commonly carry. I have the large sweat shield option on my 4P.

I want a homestead cabin far away from the madness of modern society’s hoodies and pink pistols.

The Subaru review is one of the great moments in car-reviewing history. Hell, your Lotus Elise review made me buy one!

  22. avatar Jacqui says:

Jacqui from Remora here~ Well, guys… Where to begin..We have many, many women using our holsters, and they wanted pink and purple..So, in supporting Woman in Firearms..we delivered, and they are selling like hotcakes!! Remember..men aren’t the only ones carrying these days!!:)

  23. avatar Purple Martin says:

Dudes—Let’s get real! Why shouldn’t a real man’s favorite thing also be his favorite color? Any man worth his salt can’t have too much pink.
    Hello, Remora?
    Pink liner for me please!
