And was that Otis the Mayberry town drunk playing the crook on the ledge?
One word, Dentistry (special thanks to Dennis Miller for that one.)
Yep, that was Otis.
$3.00 in 196?
$100.00 today on Ebay. No. Really.
man that takes me back….those days of innocent play are long…. long gone
i HAD one of those sets! bet mom sold them in the garage sale………
Did you notice that the bad guy had a P-38? And yes, that is Hal Smith.
Great post Dan. Here is another great one to watch:
I Like Guns – Steve Lee
Heh. Good stuff. Did Kevin direct that?
Don’t know who directed. There is a version #2 of ‘I like guns’.
Sure looks like Otis to me. If the kid in the video played with that same gun today, he’d get arrested or shot.
The “good old days” may have been better than now, but that doesn’t mean that they were all that good.
I remember having the “Man From U.N.C.L.E.” spy briefcase. And thinking about the $7 price tag on the detective set, that was back when minimum wage was $1/hr, so it wasn’t as inexpensive as we might think. Also makes me wonder if that kid got a career in law enforcement as an adult…. or did playing with guns as a kid turn him into a “bad guy”……..one of life’s little mysteries
Gee.. every kid wanted one of those. Few had them though.
I played with those when I was a kid, and I turned out OK. I’m not sure what went wrong with the rest of you.
Really? I’m a bit surprised to hear that you played with toy guns as a kid. Hmmmmmm…… interesting.
“The Good Old Days” are right now. (Well, with some exceptions).
of course like your website however you need to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I to find it very bothersome to inform the reality on the other hand I’ll definitely come again again.
