Cowboy Assault Rifle Teaser: Happy Quad-Rails To You

Our beloved jefe Farago has been waiting a long time for his over-the-top Cowboy Assault Rifle project (not pictured) to come to fruition.  What a long, strange trip it’s been, starting with an unintentional ‘Paratrooper’ version of the Model 1894C complete with a folding walnut stock.  After months of radio silence (during which my own 1894C was customized, modernized, and shot like I stole it) Marlin sent Farago an impeccably perfect replacement.

That replacement rifle is now being transformed (we hope) into the coolest lever gun of the last 150 years. Top Shot (season 1) winner and Crimson Trace consultant Ian Harrison even got in on the project while CT searched hither and yon for just the perfect Picatinny rail system.

Although it bears a stylistic resemblance to the hitmen’s shotguns in Outland, the ballistic stillbirth pictured above is so ugly and useless it should never have been conceived. Farago’s lever-powered critter-gitter isn’t finished yet, but I’m confident the techies at Crimson Trace will come up with something much better than this.

I love cowboy guns, but that’s one silly looking rifle.

Me, too. They could hardly do worse.

An abomination that would have been best strangled in the crib. There are just some things that were never meant to be. MY EYES….THEY BURN!!! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL FOR YOUR BLASPHEMY!!!!

  4. avatar Southerner says:

A set of fixed, square post/square notch, iron sights would be better for tactical or canoe gun deployment of a lever action!

  5. avatar Chris Dumm says:

A single white stripe painted down a naked barrel would be a better sighting arrangement than this, and a washcloth wrapped around the barrel with duct tape would make a better grip. Better yet, the duct tape could also hold the flashlight. Now *that* would be some Bubba Gunsmithing!

a lever action with a pistol grip and adjustable stock would be nifty. Allthough you would
d have to redesign the action of the gun. It could look something like the volcanic pistol action

    Whatever turns your crank.

    Wow, steampunk weaponry
