ATF Death Watch 71: Gunwalker Scandal Expands to . . . Indiana

”The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has acknowledged an Indiana [gun] dealer’s cooperation in conducting straw purchases at the direction of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Exclusive documents obtained by Gun Rights Examiner show the dealer cooperated with ATF by selling guns to straw purchasers, and that bureau management later asserted these guns were being traced to crimes.” This latest front in the ATF’s Gunwalker scandal raises all kinds of questions about the scope and scale of the Bureau’s supposed law enforcement activities . . .

We know that the two thousand or so guns enabled by the ATF’s Operation Fast and Furious (Phoenix based ) and Operation Castaway (Tampa-based) walked to anti-Zetas drug cartels in Mexico and Honduras respectively.

This revelation—the ATF enabled illegal gun purchases in Indiana without interdicting the firearms before they could be used in crimes—indicates that Operation Fast and Furious was part of a wider effort by the ATF to arm Mexican drug cartels on U.S. soil. In Indiana. I know that sounds bizarre but . . .

Hispanics account for some six percent of Indiana’s population. More to the point, the meths trade in the “Crossroads to America’s” is worth tens of millions of dollars. Mexican drug cartels have been going for vertical integration (from supply to end user) for a long time, including American distribution. Here’s an excerpt from indy.com in 2009:

The horrific violence brought on by feuding Mexican drug cartels that has spilled into border states has stoked fears that the same kinds of slayings and kidnappings could migrate farther north.

But narcotics experts say that fear is probably overstated, despite the far-reaching presence of the cartels within the U.S. — including Indianapolis.

Federal and local drug enforcement agents acknowledge the cartels have been quietly working in Indianapolis for about a decade. And they have had an impact . . .

The drugs those cartels supply are the root of much of the violence in Indianapolis, including slayings committed by Mexican traffickers and people they hire.

Which cartels? TTAG has been stressing the connection between the ATF’s Operation Fast and Furious and the Sinaloa cartel. If the Indianapolis straw purchases are linked to crimes committed by Sinaloas or their agents north of the border, Houston we have a problem. (Yes there too.)

It’s one thing for the ATF to let guns walk into Mexico and—oops!—bounce back into the U.S. and end up in hands of drug thugs who murdered a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Agent in Arizona. It’s another if the ATF and their friends in the FBI, DEA, DHS, DOJ, IRS, ICE, CPB, CIA, State Department and White House were/are arming vicious criminals on American soil.

On the face of it, that’s exactly what’s happened. Happening? What kind of quid pro quo would justify that kind of action? How could the feds think they could get away with this? The mind boggles. Meanwhile, the Gunwalker scandal just took a very bad turn for The Powers that Be. Watch this space.

Once upon a time, a very bright young reporter by the name of David Halberstam wrote a book about the Vietnam War, “The Best and the Brightest”. Alas, most people think that the book is about the Vietnam War. I think even David thought it was about that. In truth, it is about how the smartest people in the room can make extraordinarily stupid decisions. As I try to fathom out these series of articles about F&F, and I really don’t have a problem with the idea that this is all a complex covert operation to help the less worse guys beat the worse worse guys, I keep thinking that is is an idea put together by people with high IQs, prestigious college backgrounds and advanced degrees.

We have the perfect cluster fuck in other words. We can’t just build a strong fence that might irritate some interest group that one needs the votes from. We can’t pull a General Pershing because faculty lounges throughout the US would be plagued by fainting spells. Thus a wondrously complicated plan that requires perfect coordination and looked absolutely super good on paper. Any post graduate seminar would be impressed by the symmetry and the flow. And then, damnit, then those stupid humans fork it all up. Just like all of Our Glorious Leader’s economic advisors have fled back to the campus where their theories work perfectly on the chalkboard, so to will the generators of this idea wander off to the think tanks to come up with more and more wonderful ideas.

When William F Buckley opined that he would rather be ruled by the first 400 names in the Boston phone directory than the combined faculties of Harvard and Yale, he wan’t talking about their politics, he was referring to their arrogance.

I always go with my friend William of Occam. This admiistration came into poeer with a gun control agenda that couldn’t be sold unless it was demonstrated how easy it was for the bad guys to buy guns through legal sources. Problem was it’s not that easy. So they came up with the solution to enable the transfer of guns from legitimate dealers to criminals throughout the land. You have to wonder how many guns have been sold to drug dealers, gang bangers, muggers and hit men by F&F type operations since 2009.

And by the way Cliff, the theories don’t work on the chalk board either.

The theories can, if you have ever taken any MBA classes you know that at the heart of every of long equation is one stupendous pull it out of your ass guess. The fact that it all fails if the guess is wrong doesn’t change the fact that ON PAPER the equation is perfect!

I have it on two members of the intelligence community that the CIA was deeply involved in Fast and Furious. That the point of the operation was to arm the Sinaloas against Los Zetas. Sipsey Street reckons I’m the victim of a disinformation campaign. The facts support the intel and, yes, the thesis. That said, I am always prepared for the possibility that I am completely wrong.

I too have connections, been their Mexico for ten years, seen it and have tried to be recruited by Indiana/Illinois Cartel distributors whom are supplied by Indiana state prosecutor. I have met people the Indiana legal servants hire to kill people who cross them as I am one of them who will not stand for this trash to be in the Indiana legal system. They have stolen millions from me. All levels (state-federal) of police and legal system protect them. People in the know who are not illegally employed by them are scared of them. Local news agencies are censored by threats not to publish legal actions and criminal complaints against them or face financial ruin or violence. (i.e fox/Mishewaka, Hammond/newspaper)
I know ALOT and can put alot of people in prison, but its very hard when almost all agencies are corrupt. They will do very bad things to you to ruin you financially, morally and they will not stop because if you succeed alot of judges, attorneys and others go to prison. In Indiana the “Brotherhood” controls drug distribution, they are the cartels, they do not just sell pancakes on sunday anymore.

I can show you Zetas that are Indiana government employees ie/ judges and state assistant prosecutor and others in Michigan City, Indiana who have been involved and associated with cartel distribution since the late 80′s. They have involved in many crimes of client thefts by abusing their powers. They are involved in supplying distributors with cocaine and they have used aircraft to distribute between states. They have hired Zeta “LT’s” to kidnap and try to kill past clients whom have reported them to Federal Authorities.
It was soon discover that these agents are also corrupt and refuse to investigate even when many different victims have reported their illegal cartel acts and many many reports of bank fraud, embezzlement and money launder with irrefutable evidence.
One Zeta cartel member associate they hired to help kidnap, extort and eventually try to kill a passed client as retribution for trying to turn them in was extradited from Mexico for their crimes. However Federal agents are trying to cover up the extradition and his connections with Indiana and other judges, prosecutors involved in cartel drug distribution and arms sales to Mexico.
In Indiana their no longer exists any type of drug enforcement against cartels affiliated with government employees.
These government employees are involved in drug distribution, murder, money laundering, bank fraud and many many other crimes that would get the normal citizen life in prison or capital punishment. We are talking of supposed upstanding representatives of our legal system whom deal in death for profit. We are talking about a whole lot of people.
