If you want a pistol that has that same kind of iridescent finish seen on the finest low-riders, I guess there’s a market for that. But I’ve always thought the idea behind concealed carry was to conceal the gun, i.e.: so the gun WON’T attract attention. Just sayin’.

It’s not about CC Brad. It’s about accessorizing, finally you can own a gun that matches your garishly painted car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDGdvvfJpsM

  2. avatar Van says:

My wife and I saw this gun on a television show and we both like it (my wife especially is attracted to bright shiny objects) .

If the gun is concealed no one should see its finish. I am sure it would catch someone’s eye during open carry.

  3. avatar Mouldy Squid says:

Ick. And I thought Glocks were ugly.

  4. avatar Buuurr says:

I think it would be nice as the ‘less-lethal’ load gun.

  5. avatar Chris Dumm says:

If they can get that iridescent metallic look with OD or Desert Tan multicam colors, I’ll be all over it. But purple and pink and gold and turquoise? Not so much.

  6. avatar Jason says:

I have a friend who hates shiny guns. Wants all his guns to be black. I tell him, “Why? I’m not a ninja. I’m not an assassin. I don’t carry a gun to sneak up on people. If I have to pull a gun on someone, I want them to see it!” This is a finish a bad guy will definitely see. And if he sees it, and recognizes it, and thinks about, it reduces the chance any shots will need to be fired.

If this gets even one more person to purchase and carry a gun who wouldn’t otherwise, I’m in favor. And in any finish, the P239 is a fine, fine firearm. One of the few that hits the sweet spot of being both pleasant to carry and to shoot. I put a hundred rounds through mine just yesterday at lunch.

      +1

    2. avatar Eric says:

      @Jason: +1

I’d carry one. Concealed, of course.

  7. avatar Russ Toalson says:

I got my wife one of these as her first carry pistol. This is a fine weapon, accurate, concealable, well fit, and a beauty to look at. The pics do not do the finish good service.

  8. avatar Paul R says:

I’ve got it! This is the perfect gun for the “Pink Pistols” Organization. SIG is onto something here; I’m sure the marketing campaign will follow shortly.

  9. avatar TTACer says:

If you believe (as I do) that the vast majority of defensive gun use (DGU) merely involve brandishing, then I think there is a convincing case for ludicrous guns with gaudy finishes. If you whip out a gold plated Desert Eagle, despite what the resident trolls think of our potential for criminality, no one who isn’t a committed gun nerd aware of its reliability problems is going to mess with you-i.e. no one.

  10. avatar Don says:

I think if you pointed a black gun or a technicolor gun at me I’d have the same reaction.

  11. avatar JOE MATAFOME says:

    That’s one ugly gun.

  12. avatar Sedona2a says:

    Somebody Frowup on it!

  13. avatar Hope says:

I saw where this gun supports gay pride.

  14. avatar roy gump says:

Hope….. You “saw where this gun supports gay pride”.??
A gun cannot support pride, gay, good ol american, whatever.
And it certainly wouldn’t, even if it Could, support some kind of pride, in a specific place, as you mention.
So basically.. what the hell are you trying to say??

  15. avatar Adam says:

I saw a knife with this finish, on sale…I think I’ll stick with black. I’m a dullard. At any rate, this is Prohibited in Canada, though P239s in dull black, with aftermarket (>106mm) barrels, are available. Too expensive for me, though.

At least we now know what Rainbow Dash carries:
