What Could Possibly Go Wrong: Gunsite Pee-Pee Peg Edition

Last month, Foghorn posted a QOTD relating to bathroom carry. Just what in the Heck do you do with a holstered pistol in a “pants around your ankles” scenario? Gunsite staff and customers face this challenge every day. Safety is priority numero uno for any and all attending classes at the 2,000 acre training facility in the Arizona high desert. Gunsite’s variation of the Four Rules are posted everywhere, including directly facing occupants of the commode. The Gunsite solution to “bathroom carry”: two pegs.

One peg is sized for .45ACP, the other for 9mm – two of the most common calibers to cross the gates and enter the facility. In a situation where a student feels they would be out of control of their firearm – ie: their pants around their ankles and a muzzle likely covering a foot or ankle – the option in there to place the firearm barrel-first onto the “pee pee peg.”

What could possibly go wrong?

So THAT’S what those pegs are for. Wow, is my face red.

In a tightly-controlled setting which is guaranteed free of felons and crazies, this is a perfectly good solution. They might want to put a bullet-resistant barrier in the wall behind the pegs, just in case Justin Case leaves his finger on the trigger…

How about your holster? Keep it buckled at your knee for #2. Problem solved, no drawing or handling necessary.
