I would love to live in a state where you don’t have to transport your guns in a locked container, and can go through a Drive-Thru Starbucks during either the outbound or return journey without facing a jail sentence. (Will, in fact.) But sometimes you gotta wonder . . . The Daily News reports that Bonnie Gochenover, 29, knocked over her rifle when she opened her vehicle door Tuesday afternoon on Pope Road in Red Bluff, causing the rifle to fall to the ground, setting it off and putting a bullet in her lower left leg, according to a release from the Tehama County Sheriff’s Department. Gochenover was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle [friends don't let friends drive with a bullet wound in their leg], treated and released for her injury.” Do I need to tell you that there’s a law against that? Well, Darwin’s got a law, too. And I rather depend on him than California legislators.
